97 Subaru Outback Limited Ed-110,000 On Trans, 20,000 On Eng + More Top Of Line on 2040-cars
San Diego, California, United States
Original Retail cost was $25,997.00 before taxes. I am the second owner. I notice Auto Check says 3 owners I can only assume the dealer was considered an owner (?). I have all the paperwork from the original owner and I purchased it from him..so he said..all the paperwork is from him or his wife. I wouldn't be selling this car but I can't tow it without a trailer and I need a 4 wheels on the ground vehicle I can tow behind my motorhome . I have most of the important repair records. A friend did the regular maintenance and I didn't keep those records. Besides the trans being replaced in 2008 the engine was overhauled (including resurfacing the heads) in 2010. The battery is a few years old, I replaced the EGR equipment and the fuel pump within the last 6 months ago and recently had the right and left front inner tie rod ends replaced. The tires are also about 6 months old from "Big O Tires". They have a 100,000 mile limited warranty. I called the manager of "Big O Tires", he said even though it's not in the contract for second owners as long as the original phone number is used for check up's they should honor the warranty because they want to keep their customers. The records are kept in the system so it's country wide where ever there's a "Big O Tires" store. I'm assuming that includes the free tire rotation, balancing and the rest of the years wheel alignment warranty. I'm only repeating what I told told on this..I'm sorry I can't guarantee it. Wish I'd known I was going to sell this baby I would have done it differently. I can't seem to get the inside rear view mirror to stay positioned. I was told you need a special tool to tighten the screws and I've never taken it to a Subaru dealership to be checked. I don't know for sure if it needs to be tightened or replaced. I was planning on gluing it in place for me but now whoever buys it will make that decision. Also, the cup holder is cracked and it takes some positioning to get it to come out just want you to know. Everything works including the heated seats. REALLY NICE in the winter time even here in California. There is some wear on the leather seats but not really when you think about the use they've seen. You can see the leather on the dash and doors are in excellent condition for the age. The cars really been taken care of by me and the original owner. The rear compartment has a removable rear dog gate (dogs have been in the car) and a plastic compartment mat the keeps moisture from the carpet. It's pretty worn but still does the job of protecting the carpet. I haven't seen this on any other Subaru Wagon the rear hatch has stainless lift handle. It gives you a better grip to open the liftgate. Oh, the rear liftgate struts work fine except in very cold weather. They tend to slide back down when it's real cold other then that they are fine. Well, I've tried to give you all the information I have on this vehicle. I have the original paperwork given to me by the original owner including the manuals (although the brochure is for a 1999-I don't know why). Please email if you have any questions. This is an as is sale. It's running and everything is in good condition to the best of my knowledge. Thanks for looking Sharon |

2015 Subaru WRX teased ahead of LA debut
Mon, 11 Nov 2013After bringing a seriously hot concept to the New York Auto Show earlier this year, Subaru will finally reveal the production 2015 WRX at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month. And while we've seen spy shots of the hotter Impreza (including the winged STI variant), Subaru has now released this teaser image, showing the bulging, scooped 'Rex that's nearly ready for its world debut.
What we can see is a car that's clearly been toned down from the conceptual version - we aren't surprised, really. But it appears that the added aggressiveness over the standard Impreza will make for a pretty hot-looking little sedan. Of course, WRX models have never exactly been pretty cars, and we don't expect this one to be, either. No matter - assuming this car follows in the footsteps of WRXes past, it should still be plenty good.
Subaru hasn't released any details about the WRX as of this writing, but again, we don't expect it to stray too much from the formula we know. Expect a turbocharged boxer engine underhood, all-wheel drive, and - hopefully - a manual transmission. Rumor has it the WRX and STI will lose their hatchback variants and go sedan-only for the 2015 model year, but we'll have to wait until the official LA debut to know that for certain. Stay tuned.
Subaru confirms it's found a new HQ location in Camden, NJ
Fri, Dec 5 2014Subaru is packing up shop and making a big move, announcing that it will be relocating its Cherry Hill, NJ headquarters. Is the company pulling a Toyota and moving across the country, or perhaps following the example set by Cadillac and relocating to a major metropolis? Nope. The all-wheel-drive aficionados are going just four miles down the road, to Camden, NJ. We suppose that is one way to celebrate all of the company's sales successes. The move hasn't been confirmed through the New Jersey government just yet – it needs to be approved by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority – but if it gets the green light, it will see the company relocate to a new, 250,000-square-foot facility that's twice the size of its current headquarters. The land the company will be developing on is currently owned by Campbell Soup Company. Provided the NJEDA approves the plan, Subaru will work things out with its developers, and is hoping to be up and running at the new facility by 2016 or early 2017. Take a look below for the company's announcement. December 5, 2014 SUBARU OF AMERICA CONFIRMS APPLICATION FOR NEW HQ LOCATION IN CAMDEN, N.J. Cherry Hill, N.J. - Subaru of America, Inc. has confirmed that it has identified the preferred location of its new corporate headquarters as an all-new development in Camden, N.J. The new site is approximately four miles from the company's current location in Cherry Hill, N.J. The confirmation comes as Subaru celebrates six successive annual sales records and the new building is planned to bring on to one campus various functions of the company including Sales, Marketing, Service and Administration that are presently housed across three separate sites in southern New Jersey. The new site is adjacent to the Campbell Gateway District and is currently owned by Campbell Soup Company. Subaru of America will house more than 500 employees and contractors in the new facility that at 250,000 square feet will be double the size of the current HQ building. Subaru of America's application is now subject to New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) approval, followed by negotiations with the developer Brandywine Realty Trust and then a concluding internal cost approval process. Final decision is expected by April 2015 and subject to this approval, Subaru plans to complete the project by fourth quarter, 2016 or early 2017.
Is your new-car warranty good at the race track?
Mon, Feb 27 2017We've all heard the horror stories. Your buddy knows a girl that was dating a guy whose best friend's brother once broke his brand-new, recently purchased performance car while making runs at a drag strip or laps at a track day, and the manufacturer wouldn't cover the repair under warranty. True story? Urban legend? Complete crap? Yes, no, maybe. One thing's for sure: Automotive warranties have always come with caveats. In 1908, an ad in the Trenton Evening Times clearly stated: "All Ford Cars Guaranteed for One Year." Although it changed over time, by 1925 the Ford New Car Guarantee only covered 90 days on material and 30 days on labor, and it clearly stated that that there was "No guarantee whatever on Fan Belts, Glass, Bulbs, Wiring, Transmission, Bands, Hose Connections, Commutator Shells, Rollers, Spark Plugs or Gaskets." Whether or not Ol' Henry would pay to fix your Model T if you broke it shaving a tenth off your lap time at the local board track seems to be lost to history. We're guessing no. But what about today? Do new-car warranties in 2017 cover cars when they are driven on race tracks? We researched the warranties of 14 auto brands to find out, and the answer is yes, no, maybe, depending on the brand, in some cases the model, and whether or not your car is modified from stock. Acura has been out of the high-performance car game for a number of years, but jumps back into the party in 2017 with its hybrid-powered $173,000 NSX supercar. And Acura's warranty, as well as Honda's, clearly states that it does not cover "the use of the vehicle in competition or racing events." View 33 Photos So we asked Sage Marie, Senior Manager of Public Relations for Honda and Acura. "If the car is stock, the warranty covers it on a track just as it does on the street. No question," he told us. "However, if the car is modified, say with slick tires or other components that would put higher stresses on the vehicle's parts and systems, then we would have to investigate the circumstances further." Marie went on to say the same would be true for any Acura model or Honda vehicle, including the new 2017 Honda Civic Si. This became a common theme. Chevrolet actually started this practice with the fifth-generation Camaro on the high-performance ZL1 and Z/28 models.
