1998 Subaru Legacy Outback Wagon 4-door 2.5l on 2040-cars
Helenwood, Tennessee, United States
THIS IS A 1998 SUBARU OUTBACK , ABOUT 15000 MILES AGO I CHANGED WATERPUMP , TIMING BELT AND GEARS . I CHANGED HEAD GASKETS. IT RECENTLY HAD NEW OEM REAR AXLE BEARINGS INSTALLED . IT HAS MICHELIN TIRES WITH 20,000 MILES ON THEM . IT HAS A INTERMITTENT OVERHEATING ISSUE THAT I CAN NOT FIGURE OUT . IT LOSES A LITTLE ANTIFREEZE OVER TIME , BUT I CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHERE ITS COMING FROM AND WHY IT IS OVERHEATING . OTHER THAN THE OVERHEATING ISSUE THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES GOOD , ALL THE GLASS IS GOOD AND THE BODY JUST HAS MINOR NICKS AND DINGS . OH YEAH THE TRANSMISSION HAS A SLIGHT HESITATION WHEN IT SHIFTS INTO HIGH GEAR , BUT I HAVE PUT 50,000 MILES ON THE CAR AN IT NEVER HAS GOT ANY WORSE . THE REAR HATCH WILL NOT STAY UP BECAUSE A FEW DAYS AGO ONE OF THE HATCH DOOR SHOCK ABSORBERS WENT BAD . THE CAR HAS 367,000 MILES ON IT BUT DRIVES AND DRIVES GOOD , IM JUST NOT GONNA SPEND ANY MORE MONEY ON IT , I HAVE JUST SPENT OUT . MY LOSS IS SOMEONES GAIN .

You can buy the last Subaru rally car driven by Colin McRae
Sun, Feb 14 2016Colin McRae continued entertaining the fans for years after retiring from competing full-time in the World Rally Championship – though sadly not for enough of them. His last public appearance was at the 2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed, driving the car you see here to the crowd's delight. And now it could be yours. Though it may look mostly like any ordinary Subaru Impreza WRX STI, this is a full-on S12B rally machine. Petter Solberg drove it for the factory Subaru World Rally Team throughout most of the 2007 World Rally Championship, scoring two podium finishes. That would make it desirable enough as it is, but then McRae drove it up Lord March's front lawn (see the video below) to cement its place in history. It was the last time McRae drove in public before he died in a helicopter crash near his home in Scotland just months later. The vehicle has since been stripped down to its shell and completely rebuilt to showroom condition. It has only put on a little over 200 miles since the engine was rebuilt, and the clutch was replaced just 50 miles ago. It has new seats and harnesses, fire extinguishers, brake discs and pads, the suspension has been fully rebuilt, the wheels powder-coated afresh.... top-notch, in other words. C&M Motors out of Omagh, Northern Ireland, has it listed on RallySales.com with an asking price of GBP159,500 – equivalent to just over $230k at current exchange rates. That would put it in contention as one of the most expensive Subarus we've ever seen, rivaling the $238k which Sports Car Market records as having been paid for another ex-McRae Impreza just this past October. Scion FR-S Convertible (in Toyota GT86 form) spied in South Africa
Fri, 15 Feb 2013Though the eventual existence of a convertible version of the Toyota GT86 (and its Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ versions for America) is a no-brainer, we've yet to get a glimpse of the real-deal car until now.
Spotted in Cape Town, South Africa, of all places, this completely undisguised GT86 convertible seems to be in a remarkably advanced state of development. The image seen here was obviously sniped from quite a distance and without the aid of a powerful lens, but we can still make out a production-ready looking piece of rear bodywork for the convertible top to hide away in, as well as a functioning trunk lid. It's hard to make out with any certainty, based on this evidence, but there does seem to be space retained behind the front seats for two, small rear chairs.
With the first car spotted, we'd expect to seem some more and better images of it flow through in the near future, and if not, Toyota has already confirmed a concept version for next month's Geneva Motor Show, dubbed FT-86 Open, so stay tuned. For now, click through to the FT86Club.com forum to have a slightly closer look at the images.
Subaru recalls new Forester over pedal entrapment fears
Tue, 30 Apr 2013Pedal entrapment and unintended acceleration are hot-button topics these days, so automakers are always staying alert for potential problems. For Subaru and its newly introduced 2014 Forester, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall due to improperly manufactured floor mats that could become an obstruction for the gas, brake or clutch pedals. The good news, of course, is that even if drivers experience this problem, the 2014 Forester comes standard with brake override.
At issue with the floor mats on 10,137 Forester models built between January and March of this year is that the resin material used on the underside of the mats can curl when exposed to heat. If the leading edge of the driver's mat curls enough, it can come in contact with the pedals making acceleration, braking and shifting more difficult - possibly resulting in a crash. To fix the problem, Subaru is replacing the entire set of floor mats in all of the affected units. The official NHTSA recall notice is posted below.
