This car has been very reliable for me. I am selling it because I replaced it with a Prius as I put on a lot of miles. Anyway, this car is ready to go. It has a new PA inspection along with new brakes and rotors on all four wheels. It also has a new exhaust piece between the converter and the muffler. The car is good condition overall, but I will list everything that is wrong with the car.
It does leave a small oil spot on the driveway like a lot of cars do, but it is very minimal, I really don't even need to add oil in between scheduled changes. The catalytic converter is hollowed out, it's still there, but is non functional and as a result the engine light is always on. The car has two rust spots that I show in the pictures. They are both in the typical spot, at the rear edge of the rear wheel well. One spot is all the way through and the other hasn't broken through the paint yet. There are no other rust spots anywhere. There is also a scuff on the corner of the front bumper that is shown in the pictures as well. Aside from those things, the car is pretty decent. The head gasket was replaced at about 125k at a Subaru dealership who said that was a routine repair for certain years. The tires are all good and I think have about 15k miles on them. One tire has a little more tread as I had a flat and replaced it. The interior is pretty nice and so is the exterior. I averaged 27 mpg per tank of gas. 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid priced from $25,995* [w/video]
Wed, 02 Oct 2013Subaru revealed its 2014 XV Crosstrek Hybrid at the New York Auto Show earlier this year, and with the high-riding hybrid hatchback arriving at dealers by the end of this year, pricing has finally been set. Starting at $25,995 (*not including at least $825 for destination charges, which may vary in certain states), the new hybrid model represents a $4,000 premium over the standard 2014 XV Crosstrek models equipped with the continuously variable transmission.
Stepping up to the XV Crosstrek Hybrid Touring model, which adds navigation, leather seats and a moonroof, raises the price to $29,295. Subaru has still yet to release many key details for the XV Crosstrek Hybrid including fuel economy, combined horsepower and all-electric driving range, but the powertrain consists of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine mated to a 13.4-horsepower electric motor integrated into the CVT. Subaru XV runs over dog in Russian ad, but in a funny way
Sat, 26 Apr 2014In case you're wondering, no, the woman didn't actually hit the dog. This is just a commercial, and a fairly clever one after you get over the perceived canicide, that's meant to show off the desirability of Subaru's lifted Impreza wagon, the XV Crosstrek.
We'll try not to spoil it for you, because it is a fairly humorous piece, but you have to make sure to watch it from start to finish. The found-footage angle of it, which sort of presents it with the same quality as a Russian dashcam video, just adds to the video's ridiculous premise.
We aren't sure if this is an actual ad from the Russian arm of Subaru, as it seems to be posted from an independent account with only one video to its credit. Still, have a look below, and let us know what you think.
Mazda CX-5 named Japan's Car of The Year, Subaru BR-Z wins "Special Award"
Mon, 03 Dec 2012The Mazda CX-5 stamped its Kodo design and SkyActiv technology authority all over the Japan Car of the Year awards, taking the top prize ahead of the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT 86. It is Mazda's second victory in the last ten years, the 2005 MX-5 claiming the same trophy, and the fourth time the Hiroshima company has won.
The award is decided by 60 local "automotive experts and journalists," and open to any passenger car released in Japan from November 1, 2011 to October 31, 2012 that has sold more than 500 units. Each judge gets 25 votes, his or her top vote getting 10 points, the rest of the points being spread among the judge's choice for the next best four cars.
The second-place getters were the Toyobaru twins with 318 votes, the surprise being they didn't beat or get any closer to the crossover. The Subaru BRZ did claw some mojo back, earning the Special Award given to cars that have made "an exceptional impact." The BMW 3 Series was third overall and won the Import Car of the Year award with plenty of room between it and the second place Range Rover Evoque.
