Up for sale is the wife's 1996 Subaru Outback Legacy AWD. This car has a newer engine that was put in June of 2011 by Bennett Motors, the Subaru dealer in Great Falls, Montana. We have family there and this car went back and forth several times a year. That year the timing belt popped and we had them put a Japanese domestic engine in it that had 43k miles on it and our odometer read 159k at the time so that would put the new motor around 73k or so. I also had them put in a new water pump and all new timing components as well as a new belt at that time. I have receipts from Bennett for engine work as well as all the receipts from everything like oil changes to belts and whatever it needed. The carfax is from when we pulled it to buy the car for my aunt and we later bought it from her, feel free to pull another if you like but we have never had any accidents or any problems other than that timing belt in Montana and a few minor issues(sensors, etc.) This car runs and drives great and I would drive it anywhere in the country as there are no mechanical issues whatsoever with this car. It does need a window regulator/motor and a stereo as they both failed while I was out of town and the wife decided that two problems meant she should buy a new car and did so. It sat for a couple of months so I went ahead and bought a new battery for it as the other was a bit weak. I also have changed the oil and topped all fluids so if you need to drive it a long way to get it home you can without headaches. The Hood and wheels are off of another GT Subaru of the same year and I swapped them before I sold the GT years ago, I also took the leather wrapped shifter as well. The axles were replaced when engine was as well. The title is a clear California title and the tags were just paid on this car so will not be due again until 3/14/14. See photo of paperwork and carfax, the blue sticker is the new tag for the rear plate.
Please feel free to ask any and all questions you may have and thank you for looking. A paypal deposit of $500.00 will be required within 24 hours and the balance due in cash or through paypal upon pick up.

2015 Subaru WRX and WRX STI configurator comes online
Thu, 03 Apr 2014Subaru fans, get your clicking fingers ready - the configurator for both the 2015 WRX and the WRX STI are live on the company's consumer website.
With three trims of the standard WRX and two of the WRX STI available, customers can price out their ideal rally rocket. Aside from choosing a trim level, there's not a whole lot for dreamers to do here. A single interior trim (black) can be paired with a decent spectrum of colors. Each trim level only comes with one optional package, which ranges from $2,000 to $2,500 and includes some combination of navigation, a Harmon/Kardon stereo or push-button start. There are also a number of dealer-installed accessories available, as well.
Hop on over to Subaru's US consumer page, and start building your perfect road-legal rally car.
Is the Subaru BRZ STI being teased really only a tS version?
Mon, 05 Aug 2013Teaser images of a purported Subaru BRZ STI were uncovered last night and sent the internet into a collective state of hysterics. That's not hugely surprising, though, considering the reverence that the BRZ, along with its fraternal twins, the Scion FR-S and Toyota GT86, have garnered from the automotive media. The sole sticking point, really, has been its mere 200 horsepower. People have been chomping at the bit over a higher output version of the sublime rear driver.
Those same people may be in for a disappointment, though. See, the BRZ STI that was teased last night might not be a real STI. Instead, it's looking like it might be a BRZ tS. According to 7Tune.com, the timing of the photos posted on Subaru's website lined up with Subaru's 86 Festival at Fuji Speedway, where the Subaru BRZ tS debuted. Despite wearing STI badges, the tS isn't the full-tilt STI model we've been hoping for. Instead, you can think of the relationship between tS models and STI models as sort of like the difference between a BMW 3 Series M Sport and a BMW M3.
Certainly, the speccing of the tS supports that idea. The engine of the BRZ remains untouched in both tS models, which is one of the primary things we expect a full-bore STI to address. A number of interior and exterior styling items have been added, along with Bilstein suspension pieces and six-pot Brembo brakes. The tS sports two different trim levels, with the higher end using Recaro seats, black alloy wheels, and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler. The base tS features silver wheels, standard seats, and all the same suspension and brake upgrades. Adding fuel to the fire that these are not the true STI models is the limited production run - Subaru will only build 750 tS cars.
2014 Subaru Forester XT
Tue, 14 May 2013Power Doesn't Come Cheap
When Subaru first offered a turbocharged Forester XT model to US customers for the 2004 model year, the shoe-shaped second-gen model fell into a ready-made competitive set of small, V6-powered crossovers and SUVs. The XT might have been more of a raucous shopping-trip companion than, say, a Ford Escape V6, but the basics of the cars offered a clear differentiation from the naturally aspirated, four-cylinder models found just a bit downmarket. Here in 2013, the V6 breed of crossover in this size class is all but extinct, and turbocharged four-cylinders with the power to compete with the XT are not thick on the ground.
In many ways, the comparative analysis gets most interesting when you start looking around for CUVs to match up with the all-boxes-ticked Forester XT Touring that we had as a tester for a recent week. The top of the line Touring trim means that the Forester comes with features like 10-way power seats, leather, navigation, a Harmon Kardon sound system with HD radio, Bluetooth and more. In fact, our Forester also had the only option package available on the XT Touring; one that included keyless access, HID headlights and Subaru's EyeSight system (adaptive cruise, lane departure warning and pre-collision braking).
