For Sale by Owner ‘08 Impreza WRX Premium (with GPS), 38,000 miles, great condition. Lightning Red - Black Interior (Cloth). We own it outright, the plates have been removed, it is off insurance, in storage, and the title, bill of Sale, and possible meeting places are good to go. Hi! My 08 Impreza is my baby. I took care of her for 4 years after buying it slightly used and in mint condition, 2010. The car had 26,000 miles on it (roughly) and about 38 on it now, although I do have it off the road in storage since I moved to the city five months back. Point is -- I drove it every week, usually every day, and never put any miles on it. The engine has been kept in the perfect condition. I had one accident after driving it all the way up to college the very first time, that a little dings and pings that were worth getting fixed. I blew a valve but it was under warranty so the car has a practically new engine, which was broken in slowly and properly for 5,000 miles (serious perk). It drives awesome! Any ‘08 model year WRX is a blast to drive. Quick enough to 40 that you don’t have to shift and fast enough to 60 that second will get you there no problem. I have widened the wheels for a grippy ride and insane winter performance (the best I have ever seen, including friends who have 4-Runners and trucks. Aside from my own notes any other info on the actual ‘08 WRX can be found online. It is a prime example of a perfectly preserved model (off warranty for any mod heads looking to get 500hp from 8,000 aftermarket, I have a guy for tuning and DYNO if you’re in my area and need it done by a real professional) from that year. The warranty expired based on time not mileage and the car is gorgeous to look at. I will post some pictures I took a few years back. Premium package includes power windows, heated seats, country wide GPS, upgraded sound system and woofer, and lots more (see the website or Wikipedia for exact information). After-market parts include: Decals, Enkei GW8 wheels, 225mm Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires (widened from the stock 205mm for more grip and at .8 tred depth – with a warranty from Tire Rack for 50,000 miles), Weather Tech Rain-Guards, Rally Armor UR Mud Flaps, CURT Manufacturing Trailer Hitch with a 1 7/8” Chrome ball hitch and a brand new CURT trailer hitch (I have towed a large U-Haul, in the middle of a Northern New York blizzard, no problem. The car has a 2000lbs towing capacity, which is perfect for your dirt bike and ATV when traveling for camp or traditional family vacation), Dark Window tints all around and a Visor Strip on the windshield, License Plate cover, Multi-Hundred-Dollar insulated weatherproof car cover for outdoor storage, and decals if you want to change the GW8’s to white from red. I removed the “Subaru” and the “Impreza” decals from the back so it just reads “WRX”. That with the decals and the plate cover, the window tints and the widened profile you get from rain guards and mud flaps gives the car the meanest look I have ever seen. I have spent years designing; researching and looking for a more esthetically pleasing REX – and you have my word that there is no such car. Especially once you put a Borla exhaust on the back for that perfect amount of noise. For more info, or to just talk about the car (one fan to another), please give me a call and I can answer all your questions -- 914-960-2595 or brscag10@gmail.com |

Plans for 7-seat Subaru Tribeca replacement becoming clearer
Mon, 11 Nov 2013Subaru is going to have its hands full at the Tokyo Motor Show next week, but while the Cross Sport Design Concept is expected to preview a Tribeca-replacing crossover, this new model could still be at least two years from production. It has already been confirmed that production of the Tribeca will end early next year, but in speaking with Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, the president of Subaru's parent Fuji Heavy Industries, Automotive News is reporting that there will be a lengthy gap between the Tribeca and its eventual replacement.
The next-gen three-row crossover wasn't included in an annual production capacity goal of 500,000 units expected in the US by the end of 2016, so it's likely that we won't see this much-needed CUV until 2017. While the details of this new model aren't known, Yoshinaga told AN that it will be "completely different" from the Tribeca. As we heard back in February, we do expect this seven-passenger crossover to grow in size in order to offer a larger cabin with more third-row space.
Automotive News even mentions that the Tribeca replacement could be based on the existing Subaru Exiga from the Japanese market. That three-row vehicle splits the difference between a minivan and wagon, with swinging doors instead of sliders, and a tall greenhouse.
2018 Subaru WRX Drivers' Notes | Turbo traditionalist
Fri, Oct 6 2017Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore: The Subaru Impreza WRX is one of my favorite enthusiast sedans. It's invigorating, just a bit raw and makes you want to drive it more and more. Our tester has subtle blue paint and aggressive black wheels, which strike the right tone. It's sporty without being stupid. Inside is black leather, red stitching, and plastics that are decent, or at least non-offensive. Good looking car, overall. I was excited for my one-night stint in the WRX. I blitzed home, dashing in and out of traffic in the lower gears. This thing is like a hovercraft, and with the windows down and the engine growling and buzzing, I made record time. The steering is tight, the clutch engagement is heavy, and the brakes have just the right amount of pedal depth. I felt focused and in control. I've always felt the WRX is the right Impreza for me. The STI is awesome, but unusable for many everyday driving experiences. I could live with the WRX longterm, and love it. This content is hosted by a third party. Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale: If you've ever lamented that turbo cars don't feel like turbo cars anymore, you should check out a WRX. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four definitely takes a page from the peaky boosted beasts of the past. Driven at low rpms and gently enough that boost still builds, the turbo is laggy and takes a while to hit peak boost. This means that in mild driving, you'll be just shy of the speed limit when the turbo whacks you in the back, and you'll have to jump back off the accelerator just a moment later. But the rush of the turbo kicking in is still pretty entertaining, and a unique feeling that has been engineered out of a lot of other turbo cars. If you drive the WRX hard, though, the turbo engine becomes much easier to work with. The lag disappears, and the turbo spools right up. But you do have to be running the boxer right up close to redline to keep it responsive. These characteristics aren't something I personally enjoy. But the way the rest of the WRX drives is spot on for me. The steering is weighted nicely, and the car is very responsive. It also feels quite neutral, much more so than even good front-drive and front-biased all-wheel-drive cars. There's a bit of lean, but the chassis is always composed and communicative. And the benefit of the slightly roll-y suspension is that the WRX has impressive ride quality.
