2008 Subaru Impreza Wrx Sedan 4-door 2.5l on 2040-cars
Cleveland, Ohio, United States
Due to hard times I am unable to afford this car anymore.
I bought this car in Florida as the second owner. This is the second winter it has seen. There is a lein on this car with Capital One Auto Finance. The title cannot be released until the car is payed off. I am willing to split the cost of Escrow if you wish, we can discuss this more just call me. The Good; A/C compressor replaced in July 2013 New Factory Clutch/Fywheel dealer installed June 2012 Tires are in good condition, 2 of them replaced under warranty about 6 months ago Car has never been modified, never re-tuned. It is completely stock except for K&N panel air filter. The Bad; The Intake Manifold Gaskets need to be replaced. During cold weather, colder than 30 degrees, the car has rough idle until it is fully warmed up, this sometimes causes the check engine light to come on. This does not affect the cars performance at all. It is only a issue during the winter, this never happens during the summer. The fuel door sometimes will not open, you have to wedge something under the release switch in the car and then push on the fuel door and it opens. Sometimes it will not go into reverse, you bring the stick down to reverse but it will not click in, this is resolved by simply letting your foot off the clutch slighty until it clicks in, or moving the stick to another gear then back to reverse works also. The body is in good shape, a couple scratches, the hood has taken a couple hits from pebbles. Any other questions Ill be happy to answer. This car is very fast and a perfect canvas if you are going to be modifying to stage 2 or better. This car has alot of potential in the right hands, I just could never afford to do anything more to it. |

Toyota updates 86 in Japan with this weird special edition
Wed, Feb 11 2015In their constant drive for perfection, Japanese automakers Toyota and Subaru have both announced some minor updates for their jointly produced sports car specifically for their domestic market. Both the Toyota 86 (known in these parts as the Scion FR-S) and the Subaru BRZ are getting a revised version of the electric power steering system they were designed with in the first place as well as a reworked suspension. The more intriguing news, though, is the strange restyling Toyota is offering on the 86 Style Cb edition. Ditching the aggressively angular front end of the existing model, this special edition gets rounded headlamps and an extended nose to give it a much less severe face. The Toyota 86 Style Cb is also being offered with an optional two-tone paint scheme and gets unique LED turning indicator strips, a special badge on the bulbous snout and revised interior trim. We'll chalk it up to a matter of personal taste, but as far as JDM specials go, this special edition isn't one over which we'll be terribly disappointed if it never makes it to US showrooms. We'll be sure to keep you posted if and when any of the mechanical updates make the trip across the Pacific, though. Related Video:

Subaru suppliers rely on gray market labor
Fri, Jul 31 2015The Subaru Forester is currently the Japanese brand's bestselling model in the US. A new investigation by Reuters is making some scathing allegations about how the popular model is actually made, though. The piece claims that many of Subaru's suppliers in Ota, Japan, are using low-paid foreign workers and asylum seekers to produce components that go into the CUV. The report says that these laborers are coming from places like China and Bangladesh, and they allegedly receive a pittance compared to their Japanese counterparts. Many said that they get about $6.60 an hour, but employment brokers can take a large portion of that pay. At just four suppliers Reuters estimates there are 580 foreign workers, or about 30 percent of the total workforce. The situation has turned Ota into a cultural melting pot because of the significant population of immigrant labor. The problem stems in part from Japan's tiny labor market, and the country's odd asylum system that doesn't allow some applicants to work legally. These suppliers produce many components for the Forester, including the seats, shocks, and fuel tanks. Reuters admits that the businesses have contracts with other Japanese automakers, as well, but Subaru receives the main focus of this piece, which you can read in full, here. When asked for comment about Reuters' report, Subaru of America provided Autoblog with the following statement: "Fuji Heavy Industries does not condone the exploitation of any class of worker, either in its own operations or within its supply chain. FHI expects all employees to be treated fairly, with dignity and respect and to be provided with appropriate workplace protections. The FHI CSR policy respects and adheres to the law and regulations of business as well as upholding human rights and international standards of behavior and the ethical standards of our stakeholders. Our supply chain network has been made aware of our policy and expectations."
