Year:2004 Mileage:95500 Color: Black
Location:

Lake Forest, California, United States

Lake Forest, California, United States

It breaks my heart, but because I'm starting a family, I'm selling my Aspen White 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi. This car is in excellent shape and has top of the line, tasteful mods. It's quick but has a very conservative tune considering its mods so it maintains dependability and every day drivability. The current tune is 329hp/330tq to the wheels on 91 octane. With the supplied Cobb Access Port you can also flash a tune that will put down 355hp/374tq to the wheels on 95 octane.

The car is very subtle, as it is wingless and badgeless, with all black interior. All major engine mods (including the tune) were done by Harman Motive (now AQ Motorsports). I bought the car from the first owner in 2008. It has always been owned by non-smokers. *This car has a clean title and CarFax (report will be provided). Receipts for maintenance and mods will be included. The car is for sale by owner, and I have the title in hand. The car is being relisted under my friend's eBay account, as I don't have any history as a seller on my account. Bid with confidence, as this account has 100% positive feedback with extensive seller feedback, including 2 cars that I've sold through it.

*The car also comes with a Thule bike/snowboard rack. It also works well as a surfboard rack.

I am willing to ship the car at the cost of the buyer. If you'd like to calculate shipping costs, the car will ship from 92630.

The car is also listed locally. I reserve the right to end the auction if it sells.

Subaru WRX hatchback mule spotted

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

Despite on-again, off-again rumors, this latest set of spy shots seems to indicate that yes, a five-door Subaru WRX is indeed in the works. Subtlety is key with this test mule, but there are clear bits of evidence that indicate a hotter hatchback is what's being developed here.
First, notice the WRX-spec front fascia grafted onto this ordinary-looking Impreza hatch. From there, we can clearly see the tiny bit of added width - most obvious on the roof and at the rear, near the fuel door and taillamps. And of course, let's not forget about that bulge in the hood, consisting of a metal panel that covers the hood scoop and can apparently be removed thanks to a series of screws, according to our spies. The WRX's more robust exhaust and larger wheel/tire package have not been added to this mule, though we're told that this is commonplace for Subaru prototypes - those bits should be added on as the car's development progresses.
We fully expect a WRX hatchback to be, well, just that - mechanically, it should be identical to the sedan brethren, though our spies indicate that Subaru could be testing an updated version of the WRX-spec boxer engine. Of course, there's always a chance that this could be something else entirely, given the on-and-off reports of the five-door 'Rex's existence in the first place...

Subaru facing class-action suit over excess oil use

Tue, 22 Jul 2014

A recently filed lawsuit in federal court against Subaru of America and its parent Fuji Heavy Industries claims that several recent models burn an excessive amount of oil. The case, which is seeking class-action status, covers examples of the 2011-2014 Forester, 2013 Legacy and 2013 Outback with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and the 2012-2013 Impreza and 2013 XV Crosstrek with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder.
The suit alleges that Subaru knew about the excessive oil consumption but didn't fix the problem, according to USA Today. It contends that owners have to spend an unreasonable amount of money to keep these models topped up with Texas tea, and that the people represented wouldn't have bought the vehicle if they had known that this could happen.
As proof of Subaru's knowledge of excessive oil use, the lawsuit cites four technical service bulletins from the company telling dealers about the issue, although, that would seem to partially invalidate the claim that the automaker hasn't attempted to fix things. The case was filed on behalf of two men, one with a 2014 Forester and the other with a 2013 Outback. "Following an extensive investigation, we now look forward to litigating the case," said Matthew Schelkopf, an attorney for the plaintiffs, to USA Today.

Subaru BRZ STI teasers added to Japanese website

Sun, 04 Aug 2013

Coming Soon. With those two words, Subaru has officially dropped a confirmation bomb on our expectations for a higher performance version of the much-loved BRZ coupe, known, of course, as the Subaru BRZ STI. Two teaser images are being shown on the Japanese web-side home of STI along with the promise of 'coming soon,' and there's also a rather lovely looking set of twisty roads with the words 'Purity of Handling.'
There's not much we can glean from the two teaser images, but we're expecting an aggressive body package to go along with a significant increase in horsepower from the BRZ STI. We're also not totally clear on what 'coming soon' really means - the auto show season will be kicking off in full swing this fall, and we wouldn't be surprised to see a debut in Los Angeles. That said, you'll know more just as soon as we do.
