For sale is my 2004 STI, the car is Stage 2, and is very street-able as it is my daily driver. As of 6/24/13 I had the oil changed, brake fluid flushed, differentials serviced, transmission serviced, new coil-overs, and new sway bar end-links. It also had a new custom tune put in it by "Fastech" in Maryville, TN. The car is set to 18lbs, with zero knock, on pump gas making 308 awhp and 340 ftlbs at the tire, on a Dyno Dynamics dyno. With receipts totaling almost $2,500, the car needs nothing but a driver. Here is a list of the modifications...

  • Whiteline front sway bars and end links
  • Whiteline rear sway bars and end links
  • Buddy Club Coil-overs
  • Performance Clutch
  • K&N intake
  • Aftermarket Downpipe (previous owner said they were Greddy)
  • Aftermarket Exhaust (previous owner said they were Greddy)
  • Unorthodox brand Underdrive Pulleys
  • Triple gauge pod with air/fuel gauge, EGT gauge, and boost gauge
  • Pioneer Deck with Ipod cable
  • Tires measure 7/32 so plenty of tread left
  • Brakes were done just before I got the car, plenty of pad left on them
The bad:
  • Scuff on front corner*
  • Scratch on passenger rear c-pillar*
  • Needs rear trunk carpet ($76.00 from Subaru)
  • Air bag light is on*
* See photos, I tried to get the best pictures I could of the blemishes, the scratches aren't deep, they are in the clear coat and should buff out.

The car does have a lien on it through a local credit union, so the title will be dispersed with certified funds i.e. cashier's check or wire transfer. Also the car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. If you have any questions please let me know, I'm sure there is plenty I'm forgetting.

2014 Subaru Forester priced from $21,995*

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

Subaru has officially announced that its all-new 2014 Forester will carry a base MSRP of $21,995 when it hits dealerships early this year, (*not including $895 in destination fees). This represents an increase of $700 over the outgoing 2013 model.
That new price will net buyers the base 2.5i model equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. Subaru will also sell the 2.5i engine in Premium, Limited and Touring trims, though the automaker has not released specific price points for those models. These models are powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. Subaru says that with its standard all-wheel drive, the Forester 2.5i will be good for fuel economy numbers of 24/32 miles per gallon (city/highway) when equipped with the company's continuously variable transmission. Manual models see those numbers drop to 22/29 mpg.
The more powerful Forester 2.0XT will only be offered in Premium and Touring trims, starting at $27,995 (not including destination). These models are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four, sending 250 hp and 258 lb-ft to all four wheels. Fuel economy doesn't suffer terribly with this more powerful engine, as only the CVT is offered. Subaru quotes figures of 23/28 mpg here.

2015 Subaru WRX: July/August 2014

Wed, 13 Aug 2014

Literally minutes after snapping the photo you see above, I was soaked - hit by the third round of storms that brought absolutely insane rainfall to Detroit this week. Amateur mistake, right there; if it looks like rain's a-comin', it's a-comin'. So if you're going to take pictures of the car, do it before it's too late.
But the thing is, I was having way too much fun driving around the suddenly empty streets of Detroit to worry about handling my photo shoot in a timely manner. Folks had been cautioned to stay off the roads ever since the rain first hit. Floods had shut down several of our major freeways, not to mention many surface streets. The threat of more severe weather had put caution in the air, forcing folks to batten down the hatches and settle in for even more horrendously wet weather.
The long-term 2015 Subaru WRX, however, eats this stuff up with a passion. Inclement weather? The turbocharged, all-wheel-drive, endlessly grippy Subaru just wants to play. And after getting to know our WR Blue WRX since its delivery in June and solidifying my belief that it's a total riot, even around town, I was not about to ignore Rex's desires to go play in the rain and make mischief on the deserted streets. Empty on-ramp antics were great fun, and tossing the car around corners in the wet showed no signs of slip. Ever. Wet hair and a damp t-shirt? Worth it.
