I am the original owner. The car has been very well maintained. The oil was changed every 5,000 miles with Castrol GTX and a Fram Tough Guard oil filter. 99.9% of all the gas in the tank was Shell Premium. (Yes, I have ran out of gas once looking for a Shell station). Even with all the mileage, the ORIGINAL turbo still makes FULL BOOST. The clutch is original too, so are the brake calipers. I've had no problems with the car, I just don't need it anymore.

Brakes are good, with newer ones in the front. Tires are 205/55-16 Continental all-seasons. I purchased them after using my last set of dedicated snow tires. I had 2 full sets of winter and summer tires on OEM wheels for years. However, when I used up the last snows, I sold 3 wheels, but kept one as a spare. That OEM wheel is included, as are 4 extra center caps.

The Check Engine light has been coming on and off (solid, not flashing) for at least 5 years now. The diagnostic code points to some useless pressure loss in the Evap Fuel Recovery or something like that (I don't even remember). I just remember it wasn't important so I never fixed it. Just more government mumbo-jumbo of the EPA sticking their nose in every aspect of the cars we drive. If you live in the E-Check counties here in Ohio, just catch it while it's off and get the E-Check then (allowed up to one year prior to registration). I just did for you, so you're good until 2016 since the certificate is transferrable and it's an even year car.

Speaking of local stuff... if you were directed here by the signs posted on my car, feel free to message me to stop out for a test drive. Click on "Ask a question" and I'll reply with my address so you can come by. Also, I work in Solon, so if you are in between Burton and Solon, I can meet you somewhere with my car. I also go to Mentor a lot. Whatever, just tell me where you live and we'll see if it makes more sense for you to come here or for me to meet you somewhere.

Also, I'll be glad to release the "1 WRX" plate if someone buys it from Ohio and wants it. I can release it through the BMV with a little paperwork I don't mind doing.

The miles are basically highway miles. I also towed a jet-ski to the lake. With all wheel drive it was a breeze on the sandy launch ramps.

The pictures posted are all current from this week.

I am willing to drive the car up to 5 hours away for delivery, as long as you are willing to pay for a one-way ticket for me to fly back to Cleveland (CLE) or Akron/Canton (CAK). I'm not walking back. :-) Another option would be to add an additional $0.55/mile, up to 300 miles away from Burton. So for instance, if I deliver to Cincinnati, which is say 300 miles away, it would be an additional $330 (600 x $0.55). Any questions, ask me before bidding.

I noticed when I took the picture of the rear of the car that the left license plate illumination bulb was burnt out. I have since replaced it with a new one.

Subaru Viziv-7 Concept is AWD done XXL

Thu, Nov 17 2016

Subaru is an all-wheel-drive brand. Everything in its range, BRZ aside, sends its power to the road through all four wheels. But while you can get some sedans and a few high-riding wagons (ostensibly considered CUVs) from the Japanese brand, the company hasn't done an SUV since the Tribeca went out of production. That's going to change soon. The Subaru Viziv-7 SUV Concept previews such a change, and it's what happens if you stylistically embiggen the new Impreza Hatchback, raise the suspension significantly, and apply all sorts of concept car tinsel. Oh, and it looks good, based on the couple images Subaru distributed ahead of the car's LA debut. But while we can't show you finer details, we do have a good idea of what kind of vehicle is coming down the Subaru pipeline. View 14 Photos As the name suggests, the Viziv-7 has room for seven passengers spread across three rows of seats. That makes sense – Fuji Heavy Industry's Corporate Executive Vice President Takeshi Tachimori did say "the next three-row from Subaru will be the biggest Subaru vehicle ever." The wheelbase is 117.7 inches long while the overall vehicle measures 204.7 inches in length. If that sounds huge, it is – the Viziv-7's has 1.7 more space between the axles and is 0.8 inches longer than a Chevrolet Tahoe, which is only 0.6 inches wider and 2.4 inches taller. This is a big Subaru. But that's all we know for certain. Subaru hasn't mentioned anything about powertrains, or when a production version will follow. Naturally, we'll try to fill in the many blanks surrounding the Viziv-7 as soon as possible. Subaru previews Viziv Performance Concept and 2 tuned STIs for Tokyo

Mon, Sep 25 2017

Subaru will be rolling deep at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show next month. The Japanese automaker has announced a number of different models that it will bring to the show, including three concepts, and limited editions of two different STI models. At the top of the list, teased above, is the Subaru Viziv Performance Concept. This car sounds like it could be a sneak preview of a next-generation WRX, as Subaru describes it as a sport sedan that combines "enjoyment and peace of mind." The very nature of the model encourages active engagement, but Viziv Performance uses Subaru's EyeSight tech to provide advanced driver assistance. The teaser images don't give us much else to go on, but we'll keep our ear to the ground in case Subaru drops any more information ahead of the show on Oct. 25. View 2 Photos Also coming to Tokyo will be to Japan-only limited edition versions of two STI models. The first is the Subaru S208, based on the WRX STI. A successor to the S207, the S208 is limited to just 450 units. It's quicker and more powerful than the S207, and features a carbon fiber roof to help lower the center of gravity. Engine output isn't given, but the S207 made 323 horsepower and 318 pound-feet of torque. The S208 also has an upgraded suspension and exclusive interior and exterior styling upgrades. View 5 Photos The other special edition is the Subaru BRZ STI Sport. It doesn't get more power, but Subaru did work to improve ride and handling. The BRZ STI Sport has a stiffer body and a specially tuned suspension to improve dynamic performance. It also gets its own interior and exterior touches, and a special Cool Grey Khaki paint color. Like the S208, it will be available only through lottery, but will be even more exclusive, at just 100 units. View 4 Photos Subaru is bringing two yellow concepts to the show, the XV Fun Adventure Concept and the Impreza Future Sport Concept. The XV Fun Adventure gets off-road tires and updated body cladding. The Impreza Future Sport gets revised front and rear bumpers, a low center of gravity, and a central exhaust. Last, and probably least, Subaru will display the Outback Limited Smart Edition, with a few design touches like an exclusive grille and wheels, microfiber seats, plus navigation and a Harman/Kardon sound system. Subaru XV concept: Just more wishful thinking?

Thu, Mar 3 2016

Subaru has long been criticized as being rather weak-kneed when it comes to styling. That's not entirely true. In recent years they have displayed some really attractive-to-stunning concepts. The last-generation Impreza concept was very attractive, as was the most recent Legacy concept. The WRX concept shown a couple of years ago was a visual knockout, and the same can be said for the most recent Impreza concepts—as well as this new XV (Crosstrek) concept. The problem has been much of the visual excitement of those concepts got lost in the translation from concept to production. So we know that Subaru has great design talent; the concepts have proven that. The problem, as I see it, is those in a position to approve design for production don't seem to understand design. Now I'm sure it's a lot more complicated than just that. It involves marketing folks, engineers, as well as those suits that call the shots at FHI. Many of those in decision-making positions just don't seem to get it. However I do have to say that each succeeding generation of Subaru has got better looking. So slowly (very slowly) they are making progress. The problem is, the competition has gotten better too — much better. Hyundai, Kia, Honda and Mazda have been hitting it out of the park when it comes to styling; all the while Subaru has been hitting solid singles along with a few walks. That said I do have a good feeling about this new XV concept. It really does look close to being production-ready. The proportions are right, there is nothing outrageous or impractical here. There are even small non-roll-down (visually distracting, but absolutely necessary) side windows, which I rarely if ever see on concepts. The proof will be in the pudding when the new Impreza debuts at the New York Auto Show later this month. Fingers crossed.
