Up for sale is my 2002 Impreza WRX. It has less than 110,000 miles and is in great condition considering that mileage. I have owned it for 3 1/2 years and it has been an incredibly reliable, fuel efficient and fun car to drive. It drives flawlessly and everything works as it should. It's hard to find another car out there that accomplishes what this car does for the same price. Unlike most wrx's out there, this one is STOCK. No aftermarket parts that ultimately put more stress on the car and diminish its reliability. With that being said, the previous owner did install an oem STI muffler which just changed the look of the exhaust tip. I installed the trailer hitch to tow a small trailer weighing less than 500 lbs, can barely feel it when driving. Synthetic oil has always been used and recently I did the timing belt service which included: timing belt, water pump, accessory belts and new radiator and hoses, all of which are oem.

Everything works on the car with the exception of the o2 sensor, so the check engine light is on. When it came on I had it checked out by a mechanic and they confirmed it was the o2 sensor and since we don't have emissions where I live, I haven't changed it. It does no harm to drive this way, but it should be changed if you have emissions testing where you live. The windshield had a chip in it for a while and I was hoping it wouldn't turn into something bigger but one morning I came out and saw it had gone clean across the windshield, so that should be replaced also. You can find places that will do it for under $200. Now the tires, get new ones. They are pretty worn and I could have replaced them and raised the price accordingly but I figured it would be better to give its new owner the option of which tires to buy.

I have a set of winter tires that come with the car and have about 75% left, plenty for at least one more winter. If you're interested, I also have a ski/ snowboard rack I'll throw in as well.

2016 Subaru WRX makes IIHS TSP+ fun

We write about boring, utilitarian compacts being named to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick+ list pretty regularly. Today, we've got yet another fun car to add to the tally – the Subaru WRX. Thanks to the inclusion of the company's impressive EyeSight active safety system, the WRX was able to score a "Superior" rating on IIHS' frontal crash prevention test, which is the highest score possible. Vehicles are required to score at least an "Advanced" rating to earn the TSP+ mark. In addition to the active safety system, TSP+ vehicles must also record "Good" ratings across the four basic crash tests Â– front, side, rear, and rollover Â– and a "Good" or "Acceptable" rating the small-overlap crash test. Of course, Subaru is no stranger to IIHS' biggest honor Â– the Legacy and Outback were named Top Safety Pick + vehicles in April 2014. We're still scouring the Internet for the actual crash test video from IIHS. Once we uncover it, we'll update this post. Tokyo, September 14, 2015 - Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the manufacturer of Subaru automobiles, today announced that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS; a nonprofit organization supported by auto insurers in the US) has awarded the highest standard of safety, 2015 TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) along with the highest possible rating of "Superior" for front crash prevention to the 2016 Subaru WRX (US specs.), equipped with Subaru's EyeSight* driver assist technology. By adopting the EyeSight for 2016 model, WRX earned 6 of 6 points for front crash prevention. Including 2016 Subaru WRX, Subaru has seven models that have earned 2015 safety awards from IIHS - six with TOP SAFETY PICK+ and one with TOP SAFETY PICK. The EyeSight was the first system ever to use only stereo camera technology to detect the objects such as vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. Since its Japanese debut in May 2008, features available on this system have been highly praised; they included pre-collision braking control and all-speed range adaptive cruise control tracking function.

It's fair to see we're rather fond of the new Subaru WRX. That's not to say we don't have a number of issues with the budget sports sedan, though. Foremost among those complaints is that it's short exactly one door. Yes, the sedan-only WRX is just fine, but we'd be lying if we said we weren't missing the long-roofed, five-door model of years past. More pressing than our sentimentality, though, is the business case for a WRX wagon - half of the 2013 WRX and STI models sold had five doors. As a general rule, ignoring half of your former customers isn't the best strategy for long-term success. There was some hope, as recently as a few weeks ago, though, that Subaru would right this wrong and offer a real, five-door WRX. An Australian reporter managed to corner project manager Masuo Takatsu, who said strong interest from the US meant that the Subaru mothership was considering a WRX with a hatch rather than a trunk. Sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case, as Subaru USA is dashing any and all hope of a second body style. According to Motor Trend, the company's US arm reached out to Japan and, despite the statements made by Takatsu, confirmed that there were no plans for a WRX wagon. Sigh...
