2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5rs 4-door 5-speed Manual Clean Title Az on 2040-cars
Mesa, Arizona, United States
2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS - 159k miles Engine - EJ25 2009 STi short block replaced at ~110k. So now it has 48k miles on it. It has a compression ratio of 8.1:1 with forged internals and pistons. This motor is built to handle boost but runs strong as an NA. Modifications - Weapon R Dragon Cold Air Intake with K&N Filter. - 6-Puck Racing Clutch <<surprisingly easy to drive>> - KartBoy Short Shifter/Shift knob - Borla Headers - Uknown CatBack (it is believed to be borla). This car sounds f*cking mean. - WRX Struts in the front, STi struts in the rear, STi springs all around - JDM Taillights - JDM Honeycomb Grill - 16’’ wheels with decent tread on snow tires. - New Heavy Loaded Sound Deadening Carpet, STi Blue - Alpine Touchscreen Stereo with headphone jack aux input - Kicker 10’’ (2) sub. This Sub has a custom bracket in the trunk that keeps it from sliding around while you’re cornering the switchbacks. - Viper Alarm System. I love this system! With new batteries in the fob, the car communicates with it from unbelievable distances. If you’re in the store, it will tell you if someone is trying to get into your car. I believe you may be able to set up remote start as well, but I have not gotten that far. Comes with a spare, programmable fob+spare key. - YellowTop Optima Battery -Moonroof works great! No leaks. Transmission This car has the stock 5-speed transmission. It shifts like butter. Absolutely excellent. Recent Work -I just had the timing belt and timing pulleys replaced, so you should be good on that for another 120k miles at least. -New Brake Pads and Rotors I honestly am not looking to sell this! I'm listing it to enter into the ebay contest to win a new vehicle but if it sells then it sells. It runs great, I sold my 04 STI to buy this and it's a really sweet car, people stop me at least once every couple days just to ask me about it and tell me how much they love em. Ride along with Mark Higgins for a record-setting lap
Mon, Jun 27 2016Earlier this month, driver Mark Higgins, Subaru of America, and Prodrive broke their own record on the Isle of Man's Snaefell Mountain Course by setting a time of 17 minutes, 35 seconds. The attempt was approximately two minutes better than their previous record, which was set with a time of 19 minutes, 26 seconds. Now, Subaru has released the full, hairy in-car video of the record-setting lap that is narrated by Higgins himself. Listening to Higgins' 550-hp Subaru WRX STI scream to over 170 miles per hour is the best cure for a case of the Mondays, while watching the driver navigate over the course's less-than-perfect road will surely cause some anxiety. It may be a 20-minute long video, but every minute is filled with nail-biting moments and listening to Higgins' thought process through the course is mesmerizing. Incredibly, Higgins managed an average lap speed of 128.73 mph. And while that may seem impossible for mere mortals to match, Higgins believes he can go even faster. Subaru will surely be back with another WRX STI next year, but it's hard to fathom a car being able to go any faster around the Isle of Man. Related Video:
Subaru reveals WRX STI racecar for 24 Hours of N"urburgring [w/video]
Fri, 10 Jan 2014Subaru has announced that it will be running a race-spec version of the upcoming WRX STI in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in June. The 2014 race will mark the seventh year in a row that Subaru has campaigned a car at the day-long Ring race, but this will be the first race outing for the new WRX STI, which isn't set to debut until next week at the Detroit Auto Show.
Subaru will be in the SP3T class, for turbocharged engines displacing 1.75 to 2.0 liters, and is targeting its third class win, after finishing second last year. To do that, it'll be going toe-to-toe with racing versions of cars from Audi, Volkswagen and Seat.
The team will be led by Hideharu Tatsumi, who was responsible for last year's team. Drivers will include Toshihiro Yoshida and Kouta Sasaki, while another pair of European drivers will be announced at a later date.
Toyota tops Consumer Reports best, worst used car values
Tue, 18 Mar 2014We often mock Toyota for building boring, soulless cars, but a new study by Consumer Reports suggests that regardless of whether that's true, the company has some of the best used cars on the market. In its report on used cars from 2004-2013, the Japanese automaker had 11 vehicles among its brands on the list - more than any other automaker.
CR breaks the list down by cost and vehicle size, and Toyota has at least one entry at every price point and in nearly every segment. To score a recommendation, a vehicle had to perform well in the magazine's initial tests and score above-average reliability results. It also tried to only suggest cars with electronic stability control. Of the 28 recommended vehicles, Honda/Acura had the second most mentions at six, and Ford, Hyundai and Subaru managed two each.
The Detroit brands also made it to the list, but not in a positive way. Consumer Reports compiled a list of 22 vehicles it wouldn't recommend because "they have multiple years of much-worse-than-average overall reliability." General Motors had the most unrecommended models on the list at six, but Chrysler and Ford weren't far behind, with five cars each from their brands not making the grade. The full list of recommendations is available on CR's website.
