2011 Subaru Forester For Sale - 28,177 Miles
I am the original owner. All scheduled service has been completed by Sewell Subaru in Dallas. Absolutely no issues with the car, a faulty MAF sensor was replaced under warranty and other than that, it's a clean record. I have all the service invoices with the vehicle.
This is the base 2.5x model with the 5 speed MT. I have included quite a few extras that all come with the vehicle:
- I ordered one without a roof rack so that I could put the much nicer Whispbar crossbars on it (these will come with the vehicle). They are removable, lockable, and mount directly to the factory mount points. They are very quiet and much more useful than the factory rack.
- Comes with Curt class II hitch. I did not tow anything with the vehicle, it was only used for a hitch bike rack.
- Comes with Enkei EKM 3 wheels in Gunmetal. You will also receive the stock 16" steelies should you choose to run off road tires or for a winter set. I did not keep the stock 16" plastic hubcaps however.
- Hankook Optimo H727 Tires, much nicer than the stock tires. They have been on the vehicle since 500 miles and are at about 60% right now. They have been rotated every 5k.
- Comes with full set of Weathertech floor mats + Weathertech cargo mat. Much nicer than stock.
- Hella Supertone replacement of the weak stock horn
- Sport grille installed (you also get the original grille if you want to swap it back out)
This has been a great car and would not be for sale, but my wife can not drive a MT and we need to be able to share vehicles, so this one has to go.
This car is paid for and I have the title in hand so an easy transaction. Contact me with any questions!

West Coast labor dispute hampers Japanese automakers' US plants
Wed, Feb 18 2015The ongoing labor dispute between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and port owners along the West Coast is starting to affect more Japanese automakers building vehicles in the US. The issue already forced Honda and Subaru to take the expensive option of airlifting some parts into the US weeks ago, and according to USA Today, Toyota and Nissan have begun doing so, as well. The choice hasn't been cheap, though, and Subaru's chief financial officer estimated that the decision cost around $60 million more per month than sending components by cargo ship. The effects continue to radiate, according to USA Today, and shortages of some models are possible. Honda is slowing production at its factories in Ohio, Indiana and Canada because the automaker doesn't have enough transmissions and electronics for some vehicles. Toyota already cut back on overtime at some factories. Nissan has only seen a small effect from the issue, though, because of its local suppliers. Dock workers and port owners have been negotiating on a new contract since last year, and the union has organized work slowdowns in response. According to USA Today, the automakers could move shipments to Canada or Mexico, but it would take longer for parts to arrive. Subaru investing $400 million for Impreza production in Indiana
Thu, 09 May 2013As a part of a goal to increase its US sales tally up to 500,000 annual units by the end of the decade, Subaru is investing $400 million in its Lafayette, IN assembly plant in order to start building the Impreza in 2016. According to Automotive News, about half of that investment will be for a new paint plant while another big chunk will be used to extend the assembly line to allow for the increased capacity.
Currently, Subaru's Lafayette plant is responsible for building about 200,000 Legacy, Outback and Tribeca models each year (not including around 100,000 Toyota Camry sedans), but Subaru-specific output will be increased to 300,000 units, requiring an additional 900 new hires as well. Although a previous report suggested the Forester and Impreza would be moving Stateside, this AN article only mentions the hatchback and sedan versions of the Impreza being added to Lafayette - and no mention of the closely related XV Crosstrek.
Subaru WRX hatchback mule spotted
Tue, 02 Sep 2014Despite on-again, off-again rumors, this latest set of spy shots seems to indicate that yes, a five-door Subaru WRX is indeed in the works. Subtlety is key with this test mule, but there are clear bits of evidence that indicate a hotter hatchback is what's being developed here.
First, notice the WRX-spec front fascia grafted onto this ordinary-looking Impreza hatch. From there, we can clearly see the tiny bit of added width - most obvious on the roof and at the rear, near the fuel door and taillamps. And of course, let's not forget about that bulge in the hood, consisting of a metal panel that covers the hood scoop and can apparently be removed thanks to a series of screws, according to our spies. The WRX's more robust exhaust and larger wheel/tire package have not been added to this mule, though we're told that this is commonplace for Subaru prototypes - those bits should be added on as the car's development progresses.
We fully expect a WRX hatchback to be, well, just that - mechanically, it should be identical to the sedan brethren, though our spies indicate that Subaru could be testing an updated version of the WRX-spec boxer engine. Of course, there's always a chance that this could be something else entirely, given the on-and-off reports of the five-door 'Rex's existence in the first place...
