extends throughout the What we have here is a comprehensively serviced 2003 Subaru Forester XS. We have been in, out and through this entire car. As many Subaru owners know and love, these vehicles stand the test of time. Truly they have some issues along the way but rest assured, they have ALL been addressed on this fine vehicle. BOTH cylinder head gaskets have been replaced for maintenance, Along with a brand new timing belt, adjuster, water pump, hoses, thermostat, oil cooler gasket, new idler pulley with bearing, new spark plugs with tube gaskets as well as accessory belts, new valve cover gaskets, camshaft and crankshaft seals, ignition wires and all associated seals and gaskets. In addition, we flushed the transmission fluid, power steering fluid, replaced the fuel filter, flushed the fluids in the differentials and changed the oil and filter. We put in a new battery, replaced all 4 tires and performed a 4 wheel alignment. We even replaced the wiper blades - All 3 - and even replaced the battery in the remote key fob. We even replaced the rear hatch struts to make sure you don't get bonked in the head taking out your groceries. In anticipation of the upcoming summer season we tested the air conditioning system, found a small leak at the body of the compressor, replaced the entire compressor with a new one, with warranty and completely recharged the system - it currently blows at 38 degrees! EVERYTHING works, no disappointments. Just detailed inside and out. |

Subaru prices 2015 XV Crosstrek from $21,595*
Sat, Nov 22 2014Less than a month ago, Subaru announced a series of minor revisions for its ruggedized Impreza, the XV Crosstrek. And now it's revealed US pricing for that updated model. For 2015, Subaru has introduced a new entry-level model, the XV Crosstrek 2.0i, that starts at $21,595 (*plus an $850 destination charge). That's $400 less than it used to charge for what was the base 2.0i Premium, which has grown $300 more expensive but includes a new multimedia system. (The destination charge has also increased by $25.) Go for the CVT instead of the five-speed manual that comes standard and you'll be looking at $23,295 for the Premium model, and step up to the top-of-the-line Limited trim (which comes with the CVT) and you'll shell out $24,795 – again, those prices not including delivery. The hybrid version holds the same pricing as the previous model year at $25,995 or $29,295, depending on trim (plus the new $850 destination charge). The EyeSight system that earned its place on our Technology of the Year shortlist, bundled with the multimedia system, adds another $1,295, the moonroof another $1,000, but if you tick all the options (moonroof, nav, keyless entry, push-button start and EyeSight) it all comes bundled at $2,795. Certain trim levels encompass some of those options though, so prospective buyers will want to thumb through the full press release below. 2015 Subaru Legacy to start at $21,695*
Fri, 16 May 2014Subaru unveiled the 2015 Legacy at this year's Chicago Auto Show, and while the company was happy to tell us all about its new platform and features, it kept pricing a secret until now. The new all-wheel drive sedan arrives at dealers this summer with a starting price of $22,490, which includes its $795 destination charge, a $400 increase over last year's model with the CVT.
The Legacy takes advantage of a slightly larger, new platform, which Subaru claims is quieter. The 2.5-liter boxer-four-cylinder and 3.6-liter flat-six engines are carried over from the previous generation, but they see slight boosts in fuel economy. All models also now come standard with a CVT, and, of course, Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
The range starts with the basic 2.5i trim at $22,490 that comes standard with more airbags than before and a 6.2-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth and iPod integration. The $24,290 2.5i Premium trim really improves things with standard dual-zone climate control, power driver's seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 7-inch infotainment system and more. For $27,290, the 2.5i Limited adds a leather interior, 18-inch wheels, a Harmon/Kardon stereo, heated rear seats, fog lights, wood grain trim and more. A top-spec Legacy 3.6R Limited goes for $30,390 and comes with standard HID low beams.
Subaru Legacy Concept has us getting our hopes up
Wed, 20 Nov 2013It happens all the time. We get excited about a really attractive Subaru concept, and then the production car comes out and, well, "disappointed" isn't a strong enough word. (Compare that hot Impreza concept to the final production car.) So while we're hopeful that this new Legacy concept previews something sleek for Subaru, allow us to be fully on record as not getting our hopes up.
Anyway, let's talk about how good this car looks. From the front, comparisons to the Buick Regal GS are warranted, but from all other angles, it has a very four-door coupe-like shape. The concept rides on 21-inch wheels with bulging wheel arches that Subaru says hints at the car's all-wheel-drive system (standard Subaru fare, BRZ aside).
As for what exactly this concept previews, the safe guess is, of course, the next-generation Legacy midsize sedan. And while we'll keep our fingers crossed for a sweet-looking production sedan to come out of Fuji Heavy in the near future, it's safe to say we're still skeptical.
