THERE IS A REASON THAT THESE SUBARU "FORESTERS" RARELY COME UP FOR AUCTION ON EBAY.  VERY SIMPLY, THIS IS ONE OF THOSE "SPECIAL" VEHICLES THAT ARE ABSOLUTELY BULLET-PROOF, REGULARLY EXCEEDING 400,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER WITH LITTLE MORE THAN REGULAR OIL CHANGES AND AN OCCASIONAL SET OF TIRES AND BRAKES.

I AM SELLING THIS SUBARU FOR A GOOD FRIEND WHO IS NOT "INTERNET SAVVY".  THE CAR WAS HIS "DAILY DRIVER" AND BECAUSE HE PURCHASED A NEW VEHICLE, THIS TRUSTY FORESTER BECAME EXPENDABLE.  PRIOR TO HIS PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE IT HAD NEW HEAD GASKETS, NEW WATER PUMP, ETC INSTALLED. IN OTHER WORDS--ALL THE USUAL UPDATES THAT AN OWNER NORMALLY MAKES WHEN THE CAR HITS ABOUT 175,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER WERE PERFORMED.

THIS SUBARU IS VERY CLEAN, HAS NO RUST ISSUES, NO TEARS IN THE UPHOLSTERY, AND NO DENTS OR DEFECTS.  EVEN BETTER, I JUST HAD THE ROTORS AND PADS REPLACED AT THE LOCAL SUBARU DEALER-- AT A COST OF NEARLY $400.  IT  IS ROLLING ON A NEARLY NEW $600 SET OF ALL-SEASON "COOPER" TIRES.  BUT BEST OF ALL, FOR THE LAST 8 MONTHS IT HAS BEEN PARKED EACH AND EVERY DAY AT THE EXACT SAME PLACE ON MY FRIENDS ASPHALT DRIVEWAY  AND THERE HAS NOT BEEN EVEN A SINGLE DROP OF OIL OR ANY KIND OF FLUID UNDER THE CAR!!

THIS SUBARU IS AN EXCELLENT VALUE, AND AS WITH ALL MY AUCTIONS I NEVER INSULT A POTENTIAL BIDDER'S INTELLIGENCE BY USING A "BUY-IT-NOW" OR SUGGESTING A MINIMUM PRICE.  ALL MY AUCTIONS START AT $.99 CENTS AND END WHEN THE WINNING BIDDER DETERMINES THE FINAL SALE PRICE.

PLEASE NOTE MY 100-PERCENT "FEEDBACK" RATING. LOOK THE PHOTOS OVER CAREFULLY AND CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU MAY HAVE.  I ENCOURAGE YOU TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND TAKE A TEST DRIVE. I AM LOCATED IN NORTHWEST CONNECTICUT, IN A SMALL "BEDROOM" COMMUNITY OF $400,000 HOMES. YOU CAN FEEL COMPLETELY SAFE EITHER INSPECTING, TEST-DRIVING OR PICKING UP THIS CAR. IN FACT, MY NEXT-DOOR NEIGHBOR OWNED AN IDENTICAL SUBARU THAT WENT OVER 450,000 MILES--WHICH IS HOW I GOT TURNED ON TO THE EXCEPTIONAL LONGEVITY OF THESE AMAZING VEHICLES!

Toyota updates 86 in Japan with this weird special edition

Wed, Feb 11 2015

In their constant drive for perfection, Japanese automakers Toyota and Subaru have both announced some minor updates for their jointly produced sports car specifically for their domestic market. Both the Toyota 86 (known in these parts as the Scion FR-S) and the Subaru BRZ are getting a revised version of the electric power steering system they were designed with in the first place as well as a reworked suspension. The more intriguing news, though, is the strange restyling Toyota is offering on the 86 Style Cb edition. Ditching the aggressively angular front end of the existing model, this special edition gets rounded headlamps and an extended nose to give it a much less severe face. The Toyota 86 Style Cb is also being offered with an optional two-tone paint scheme and gets unique LED turning indicator strips, a special badge on the bulbous snout and revised interior trim. We'll chalk it up to a matter of personal taste, but as far as JDM specials go, this special edition isn't one over which we'll be terribly disappointed if it never makes it to US showrooms. We'll be sure to keep you posted if and when any of the mechanical updates make the trip across the Pacific, though. Related Video:

Subaru Takes Us Along To Drive On The Isle of Man, And We Try Not To Ball It Up
While the mild dehydration wasn't helping me, it was probably the least of my worries.
I am not a timid driver, nor an inexperienced one. But waiting to take a lap of the stunningly dangerous, 37.7-mile Snaefell Mountain Course at the Isle of Man TT had me on tilt, no fooling. I concentrated on the task in front of me, left hand working the gear pattern on the right-hand-drive Subaru BRZ I was to pilot, while kids on bikes, fat old beer-drinking men and other members of a fast-growing throng of onlookers pointed at our group of five Subarus and nine Americans. We were moments from our 'demonstration' for the motorcycle racing-hungry crowd and I was awfully glad, at that exact moment, that I'd emptied my bladder before buckling in.

Subaru WRX hatchback mule spotted

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

Despite on-again, off-again rumors, this latest set of spy shots seems to indicate that yes, a five-door Subaru WRX is indeed in the works. Subtlety is key with this test mule, but there are clear bits of evidence that indicate a hotter hatchback is what's being developed here.
First, notice the WRX-spec front fascia grafted onto this ordinary-looking Impreza hatch. From there, we can clearly see the tiny bit of added width - most obvious on the roof and at the rear, near the fuel door and taillamps. And of course, let's not forget about that bulge in the hood, consisting of a metal panel that covers the hood scoop and can apparently be removed thanks to a series of screws, according to our spies. The WRX's more robust exhaust and larger wheel/tire package have not been added to this mule, though we're told that this is commonplace for Subaru prototypes - those bits should be added on as the car's development progresses.
We fully expect a WRX hatchback to be, well, just that - mechanically, it should be identical to the sedan brethren, though our spies indicate that Subaru could be testing an updated version of the WRX-spec boxer engine. Of course, there's always a chance that this could be something else entirely, given the on-and-off reports of the five-door 'Rex's existence in the first place...
