2003 Subaru Baja Base Crew Cab Pickup 4-door 2.5l (topper Not Included) on 2040-cars
Grosse Pointe, Michigan, United States
Vehicle has 215,526 miles on it with engine replacement at approximately 165,000 miles. The installed motor had 12,000 on it at the time. The exhaust, including the catalytic converter, was replaced in the spring of '14. All four rotors were turned and new pads installed at approximately 212,000. Newly installed serpentine belt. The interior is in good shape, besides some wear and tear that is normal for a 11 year old daily driver.
Although the vehicle looks bad, I have been driving it daily since damaging the body and it still rides very smooth. However, the front left axle has been rattling and needs to be addressed shortly. I cannot recommend driving it on the road until making a few repairs, as the passenger door doesn't fully close and the passenger side rear view mirror was broken off. I still have the passenger rear view mirror and a couple of the panels that came off. The body was damaged while two-tracking after colliding with some saplings. No large trees were hit. I am not a mechanic or auto body specialist, but it does not seem as if the frame has been damaged in any way. The damage that I can note is as follows: missing front and rear bumpers, back left corner panel dented with trim missing, some damage to the front left corner panel, back right corner panel dented with trim missing, front right corner panel dented with trim missing, front passenger door badly damaged and will not close, missing R side rear view mirror, front passenger window broken out, some damage to the back right door. The rest of the car is in pretty good shape. Please see pictures, and note that the TOPPER IS NOT INCLUDED IN PURCHASE. You make contact me for more pictures of the interior, exterior, engine bay, etc. While I will be parting this vehicle out if it does not sell whole, I believe that it is restorable in the right hands, and worthy of restoring. Buyer takes on all shipping costs and understands that this is an as-is purchase. Loaded title in hand as well as release of lien from bank. |

Subaru Forester gets facelift for Japan
Thu, Oct 8 2015Subaru will introduce the updated version of the Forester for the Japanese domestic market at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month. The model benefits from a number of upgrades to the styling, interior, and equipment. It remains to be seen which, if any of these improvements will be applied to the version we get here. Most noticeable is the revised front fascia, which has been restyled to give it a "sturdier, more SUV-like appearance" thanks to a new grille, bumper, and headlights. Those lamps incorporate the company's latest EyeSight system with LED high- and low-beams that adapt to provide the optimal level of illumination according to traffic conditions. The suite of safety systems also includes lane-assist, pre-collision brake assist, blind-spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, and more. Around back the taillights have been redone as well, along with new 17- and 18-inch wheels and new body color options. Other features of the revised Forester include a new instrument panel with silver and piano-black accents, a color LCD display, and more. While mechanical changes remain limited, Subaru says it has optimized the suspension, steering, and transmission for better response. Turbocharged models also get active torque vectoring, and improved insulation promises lower NVH levels across the board. Subaru Upgrades Forester in Japan — New Safety Features include EyeSight (Ver. 3) and New Headlight Advancements — Tokyo, October 6, 2015 – Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the manufacturer of Subaru automobiles, today announced an upgraded edition of the Subaru Forester in Japan. The model will be exhibited on October 28 at the Tokyo Motor Show 2015 Press Day. The Forester has always been noted for the high degree of performance balance as an SUV. The latest upgrade advances this performance especially in the areas of design, driving enjoyment, and the utility and comfort expected of an SUV. Furthermore, the Forester's safety performance, already among the world's highest, has been bolstered by adopting the new EyeSight*1, an Advanced Safety Package*2 incorporating newly developed Adaptive Driving Beam headlights, and Subaru's first LED high & low beam lights and Steering Responsive Headlights. This comprehensive upgrade in vehicle performance has raised the Forester to a new level, as a product that will brighten the lives of more customers than ever.
2015 Subaru Outback wading into NY show fray
Tue, 11 Feb 2014The current-generation Subaru Outback was never going to win any beauty contests with its blend of rugged SUV looks and station wagon design. Still, it's found lots of fans - even five years after its launch, the Outback was Subaru's second-highest selling model in 2013. With the reveal of the next-generation 2015 Legacy at the Chicago Auto Show, it should be no surprise that Car and Driver says Subaru will reveal the next Outback at the New York Auto Show in April.
If previous generations are any indication, the next Outback will likely borrow liberally from the new Legacy, including its platform and engines. In addition to its five-door, station wagon design, the Outback will almost assuredly feature added body cladding and a higher ride height than the Legacy. Subaru's big push with the new Legacy will be to improve interior quality and comfort with liquid-filled engine mounts, an acoustic glass windshield, increased sound deadening, new infotainment systems and new safety tech. All of these will probably appear in the Outback as well.
After its rumored New York reveal, the 2015 Outback is expected to go on sale around the same time as the new Legacy in the summer of 2014.
Subaru readies BRZ RA Racing for Japanese trackdays
Sun, 27 Jan 2013As if we needed any more reasons to take a Subaru BRZ to the track, Subaru has just announced that it will be producing a racing-spec version of the car straight from the assembly line. The only problem is that the BRZ RA Racing is being offered for the Japanese domestic market only, and won't be visiting any road courses in the US any time soon.
To get the BRZ ready for some serious track time, Subaru added brake ducts beneath the front fascia, removable tow hooks and an oil cooler behind the grille. Inside, the car gets a factory six-point roll cage (including custom-fit floor mats) and a four-point race harness for the driver. Now we get to pricing where US enthusiasts will get even more miffed. The entire suite of racing add-ons increases the BRZ's price by 31,500 yen, which converts to less than $350 US; the total price of the car converts to right around $31,500 US.
There is a brief press release posted below, which has been translated (somewhat poorly) by Google.
