For your consideration is my 2005 Subaru STI, nearly mint and with lots of cool modifications. This vehicle has been featured in the World of Wheels car show in Kansas City, taking first place 2 years in a row. It took 1st place in NOPI, arguably the largest import car show in the world, in the vinyl design category in 2007 and 1st in over a dozen other car shows locally. The car has ALWAYS either been under a Wolf Revolution car cover in a driveway, or in a garage under cover. The car does have 38,400 miles, but has been in my possession since brand new in June 2004, and is on only its 9thoil change (synthetic of course). So that means it’s been driven only an average of about 4K miles a year. That said, here is the description from bumper to bumper: The hood is a custom Kevlar fiber weave having a blue/gold tone (I still have the original hood and is mint) and is lifted by TEIN hood dampers so the hood prop is no longer needed. Due to the speeds the car is capable of, I installed hood pins to assure me that the hood could not come loose and hit the windshield. The underside of the hood has been hand shaped and painted to match the exterior color of the car. There is a blue RFI blow off valve on the inlet of the intercooler, coming from a SPT high air flow intake which replaced the factory intake(still have that and was painted to match the car). The factory turbo dumps into a 4” bell mouth Invidia downpipe. The exhaust is a 3” PIT performance exhaust which sounds incredible (I still have the factory exhaust which has less than7K miles). I did not crack the motor to do performance upgrades but there are fresh platinum spark plugs which were installed about 5K miles ago when the carwas placed on a 4 wheel dyno. The car pulled 293hp at the wheels on 91 octane gas and could be tuned to 310hp at the wheels, if the fuel was leaned out. This is about a 100hp increase from the factory settings. I chose to keep it safe and leave the gas mix richer, resulting in an occasional back fire at full throttle shifts in 1st and 2nd (fans loved the 2-3 flame when it was really getting it). The wheels are the original factory but have been professionally painted to match the cars color scheme. The tires are brand new with less than 1K miles. I also have a summer set of tires with about 7Kmiles and are a bit taller (better ride) and on the silver BBS rims. The interior dash and vents have been hand painted with 10 coats of matching blue paint and 12 coats of clear, making a stunning shine. The DVD player is top of the line Kenwood Excelon DDX 7015, which cost $1800 brand new (still have the factory 6 disk cd changer). It is hooked to Polk Pro audio speakers in the front and rear, with the front speakers and 8” JL Audio sub being driven by an 800W Power Acoustik amp professionally mounted in the trunk. The trunk also has two mounted 7” Boss monitors that used to hook under the front passengers seat to a Playstation II. We used to play video games wirelessly and watch them from the trunk during car shows. The speakers in the trunk lid also work and have a blue light when operated with the beat of the music. There is a Gold Pro neon light kit (top of the line real neon bulbs, not led) that works perfectly under all sides of the car and make the car appear to float on blue light (legal in my city). The exterior neon lights and interior LED lights are operated by small factory dip switches on the left side of the dash. The color on the exterior of the car is ALL vinyl and can be removed if desired with a heat gun and some time if it’s not to your taste. I have had absolutely no problems with this car and hate to sell her,but all she does is sit in the garage and collect time and dust, being driven less than 2K miles last year. It needs a good home where someone will love her like I have and enjoy it. The car gets about 19MPG on the highway if you’re gentle on the throttle, otherwise it’s about 15MPG and hell-a-fun. Serious inquires only and no joy rides. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time, as it is available locally as well. Look it over, judge for yourself. It’s one of the fastest cars on the road bar none, but could still fit a family of 4 comfortably (that’s why I got it instead of a 2 door). Remember, there is an original hood, full exhaust and stereo included as well as a full set of matched nearly new tires and wheels. |

Subaru brings sportier XV, Legacy and Levorg concepts to Tokyo Auto Salon
Mon, Jan 12 2015'Tis the season of the auto shows, boys and girls. We just came down from the techno-fest that was CES, we're set for the start of the Detroit Auto Show, in the UK they're holding the Autosport International racecar show, and in Japan they just opened the Tokyo Auto Salon. And true to form, Subaru was on hand with a wide assortment of tuned machinery. Aside from the competition-spec WRX and BRZ we brought you a few days ago, Subaru also spruced up some of its production models for the street. One of the most intriguing was the Levorg S that gives us an idea of what the conceptual Legacy wagon would look like in STI spec, complete with the requisite blue paint, red trim and STI badges, but also a full aero kit, 19-inch BBS wheels and carbon-fiber trim, plus an interior with bucket seats, flat-bottom rim and all the fixins. The Japanese automaker also showcased a version of the Legacy sedan dubbed Blitzen, decked out in bright red with a similarly upgraded aero kit, 19-inch alloys and a two-tone interior. The XV Crosstrek that was recently launched on this side of the Pacific as a special edition in bright yellow rolled in to the Tokyo salon in the same shade, but with upgrades similar to those on the aforementioned Levorg and Legacy show cars. The XV Sport concept wears upgraded aero, 17-inch wheels and a complementing yellow-trimmed back interior. Also on display was an even less subtle WRX S4 customized by Prova, done up in white but with an outlandish body kit, 20-inch Enkei alloys and a dropped suspension, as well as the new Forester tS.
Subaru WRX hatchback mule spotted
Tue, 02 Sep 2014Despite on-again, off-again rumors, this latest set of spy shots seems to indicate that yes, a five-door Subaru WRX is indeed in the works. Subtlety is key with this test mule, but there are clear bits of evidence that indicate a hotter hatchback is what's being developed here.
First, notice the WRX-spec front fascia grafted onto this ordinary-looking Impreza hatch. From there, we can clearly see the tiny bit of added width - most obvious on the roof and at the rear, near the fuel door and taillamps. And of course, let's not forget about that bulge in the hood, consisting of a metal panel that covers the hood scoop and can apparently be removed thanks to a series of screws, according to our spies. The WRX's more robust exhaust and larger wheel/tire package have not been added to this mule, though we're told that this is commonplace for Subaru prototypes - those bits should be added on as the car's development progresses.
We fully expect a WRX hatchback to be, well, just that - mechanically, it should be identical to the sedan brethren, though our spies indicate that Subaru could be testing an updated version of the WRX-spec boxer engine. Of course, there's always a chance that this could be something else entirely, given the on-and-off reports of the five-door 'Rex's existence in the first place...
Sunday Drive: The future looks bright, and the present ain't bad, either
Sun, Oct 1 2017A look at the week that just passed proves that Autoblog readers love looking into the future. Spy photos of the next Porsche 911 and a mysterious Dodge Demon prototype led the way last week as some of our most popular stories. A teaser from Subaru has our appetites whetted for the next WRX, and we're intrigued by the value proposition offered by the rear-wheel-drive Kia Stinger. Long-distance motorcycle tourers went gaga over leaked images of the next Honda Gold Wing. Such intense interest comes as no surprise considering that it's the standard by which all its competitors are judged, and it looks to be getting some serious new technology in its next iteration. And finally, we can't help tooting our own horn a bit. Autoblog just launched a brand-new Car Finder tool, which, after getting a few data points to work with, offers up a perfect list of vehicles for new-car buyers. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2019 Porsche 911 to get digital interior — only the tach will be analog Spy Shots: What the devil is Dodge up to with this narrow-body Challenger Demon?
