THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR. SHE DRIVES IT DAILY. I HAVE MAINTAINED IT VERY WELL. IT HASN'T SEEN REG OIL JUST SYNTHETIC SO YOU WILL HAVE TO KEEP UP ON THAT. THERE IS NOTHING MECHANICALLY WRONG WITH THE CAR BESIDES THE FACT THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON ONCE IN A WHILE AND SHUTS OFF. IT WAS RECENTLY INSPECTED AFTER I PUT BRAKE PADS ON IT. THERE ARE NO FUNNY SOUNDS OR LEAKING FLUIDS. AS STATED ABOVE I TAKE CARE OF MY VEHICLES. I DRIVE 50K MILES A YEAR SO I RECENTLY BOUGHT A USED PRIUS. I ALSO HAVE A 2011 WRX AND A 1996 ECLIPSE (RACE CARS) WHEN I TOOK THE SUBARU TO GET IT INSPECTED MY WIFE DROVE MY PRIUS. AFTER PICKING ON ME FOR DRIVING IT SHE NOW WANTS ONE ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE DRIVES ABOUT 25K MILES A YEAR NOW FOR WORK AND SCHOOL. MY WIFE AND I ARE NON SMOKERS. THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ARE STOUT ON THIS CAR.  MOST PEOPLE WHO OWN A SUBARU KNOW THAT THEY LAST FOREVER WHEN TAKEN CARE OF. I FAVOR THE 6 CYL IN THE EARLY 2000S FOR TWO REASONS.  THE 2.5LITER ENGINES TEND TO HAVE TIMING BELT ISSUES. THIS 3.0 HAS A TIMING CHAIN WHICH DOESNT SNAP COSTING YOU TONS OF MONEY. THE MPG YOU WILL GET IS CLOSE TO A 2.5 BUT WITH MORE TQ AND HP. THIS IS THE LL BEAN EDITION SO ITS LOADED WITH EVERY FEATURE POSSIBLE. ALL THE GOODIES AND THIS CAR WILL REACH 300K MILES WITHOUT A PROBLEM. I HAVE TAKEN PICTURES OF EVERY SCRATCH AND DENT THAT ARE NOTICEABLE. I AM AN HONEST MAN AND I WOULDN'T RISK MY FEEDBACK SCORE ON A 5000$ TRANSACTION OR SCREW SOMEONE ON A CAR. I HAVE OWNED MANY VEHICLES AND I HAVE BEEN SCREWED. I KNOW HOW IT FEELS AND MANY PEOPLE FIND NICE VEHICLES JUST LIKE THIS ONE ON EBAY. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS JUST EMAIL ME AND I WILL GET BACK TO YOU SOON CAUSE I WILL RECEIVE IT QUICK WITH MY IPHONE. LOW BALL OFFERS WILL BE IGNORED BECAUSE THIS CAR IS ALREADY PRICED OVER 2000 UNDER NADA BOOK VALUE. THANK YOU

YOUR 500$ DEPOSIT AFTER YOU PURCHASE IT IS NON REFUNDABLE!

Subaru mulling expanding Indiana plant for Forester, Impreza

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

Thanks to currency fluctuations and their impact on the bottom line, a growing number of Japanese automakers are starting to increase vehicle production in the US, and it appears Subaru could be the next to do so. According to Bloomberg, Subaru is looking into expanding production capacity at its Lafayette, Indiana assembly plant, which currently builds the Outback, Legacy and Tribeca as well as the Toyota Camry.
Subaru's Indiana plant currently has an annual maximum capacity of 310,000 units, but the automaker is expecting to far exceed that figure this year, with year-to-date sales of 299,788 units through November (not including Camry) - an increase of almost 30 percent over 2011. The report indicates that Subaru could expand the plant to add as many 50,000 additional units to the plant, likely in the form of either the Forester or Impreza.

To the end of the world in a Subaru

Fri, Apr 1 2016

On a quiet beach in southern Argentina, I stood in awe facing the Desdemona, a massive cargo ship that wrecked ashore in the mid-1980s and has remained untouched for the subsequent 30 years. In the intervening time, Desdemona was not vandalized, nobody broke her down and sold the parts for scrap, and unlike what you'd expect in the United States, no one set up shop to sell memorabilia in addition to a $5-beach entrance fee. This is only one of a thousand gorgeous vistas that make up Patagonia, the southernmost part of South America and, indeed, the end of the world. I was there to drive Subarus along dirt two-track roads and gravel highways on an epic journey from El Calafate to Ushuaia. Subaru would have you believe that this sort of rugged wilderness is the natural habitat for its cars. Whether or not that is a stretch, the Subies proved to be up to the task of trekking Patagonia. But I fully expected that from the get-go. What I didn't expect was how every part of this journey – the cars, the location, the people – would combine to form one of the greatest travel experiences of my life. View 85 Photos The end of the world. Patagonia is gorgeous, vast, brilliant. And those words don't even really do it justice. The plains, the lakes, the mountains, the forests all feel like every color is more vibrant, every detail is sharper. It's like looking at the world through an Instagram feed, and then realizing that every photo has the "no filter" hashtag. The journey started on Valentine's Day, with senior video producer Chris McGraw and I flying to Atlanta, followed by a 12-hour flight to Buenos Aires. That's where we met the rest of the group, and spent a day relaxing and exploring the Argentine streets and shops. "It's like looking at the world through an Instagram feed, and then realizing that every photo has the 'no filter' hashtag." But we still weren't at our start point. From Buenos Aires, we hopped a flight to El Calafate, about 1,500 miles southwest. It's a common entrance point to Patagonia for tourists and explorers because of its proximity to the Perito Moreno Glacier, a stunning site we visited the next day. Watch our earlier update video to see more about the glacier – an ice formation three times the size of Manhattan (and growing!). If Patagonia is on your bucket list of vacation destinations, this glacier is a mandatory stop. There's a boardwalk that runs along the lakes, leading right up to the face of the glacier.

2016 Subaru WRX: Is this successor worthy of the crown?

Mon, Feb 15 2016

I was leasing a 2012 Subaru WRX, a car I had wanted since forever. When the lease was up, I decided to trade it in and get another WRX, a 2016 model. Now that I've put over 7,500 miles on the new one, I can offer a fair comparison of the previous-generation model and newest model. While the basic DNA is the same – turbocharged boxer engine + symmetrical all-wheel drive – these cars look and feel rather different. Exterior The prior model WRX ran from 2008 to 2014. In 2011, though, Subaru upped the ante by giving its rally-inspired baby a widebody look similar to the STI variant. The WRX was offered as either a sedan or a hatchback. I opted for the hatchback version because of the extra cargo space, and I felt it looked better than the sedan. I loved the look of this car, especially in the classic World Rally Blue paint. The flared fenders, hood scoop, and quad exhaust tips made for one aggressive-looking machine. It definitely stood out from the crowd. The new model, on the other hand, introduced in 2015, is only offered as a sedan. It blends into the crowd for the most part, but I think the front end looks great and the side profile looks sleek. At the rear, Subaru did a nice job with the stainless steel exhaust tips versus the old model's unfinished tips, but the taillight design is nothing special. The low-profile trunk spoiler is a nice touch. The 18" wheels on the Premium and Limited models look sharp, though they're a bit on the heavy side. Interior The previous generation WRX was criticized for its spartan interior, but I didn't mind it. I liked the simplicity. Everything was easy to use, whereas newer cars have a bit of a learning curve with infotainment systems and whatnot. The red stitching and WRX-embroidered seats added some uniqueness to the car. The fit & finish weren't great, though. There was a rattling sound coming from the driver's side A-pillar that I had to fix. Subaru did a good job with the new model's interior. It feels more elegant than aggressive. The climate control knobs have a nice feel and weight to them, and the steering wheel is superb. There's a digital display on the gauges, a small screen on top of the dash, and Subaru's Starlink system for radio and phone. A back-up camera is standard and displays on the Starlink's 6.2" screen for 2016, which has been a surprisingly nice perk to have.
