Description: This AWD Subaru Outback handles very well in any weather condition or terrain. This has superb handling and steering with excellent acceleration. Some of the strengths of this car include a strong engine, stylish design, great gas mileage due to the CVT transmission and roomy, comfy interior. This 2011 Subaru Outback is in very good condition. There are a few dings and scratches but nothing that would take away from the overall look of the vehicle. All service work has been performed on time and to Subaru's standards either at my local Subaru Dealer or by an authorized Subaru mechanic. Features: This 2011 Subaru Outback is the Premium Trim level and also includes the Cold Weather Package. The Cold Weather Package adds heated mirrors, windshield and comes with All-Weather floor mats. The standard mats, still in plastic, are included in the sale. Also included is a 10.1" Widescreen Flip Down TFT Monitor with DVD Player. History: I have owned this vehicle since it was new. Subaru revisits 1998 Impreza 22B STI
Thu, 05 Dec 2013It was 1998 when Subaru made some crucial changes to its World Rally Championship Impreza, such as increasing the displacement of the turbocharged flat-four-cylinder engine from 2.0 to 2.2 liters and fitting wide fender flares. Subaru won the WRC manufacturer championship with the car that year, and it also was the year of the automaker's 40th anniversary. To celebrate the milestone, the company came out with this limited-edition, road-going Impreza, the hallowed 22B STI, which looked nearly identical to the rally car.
Only 424 22Bs were built, and most of them stayed in Japan. But Dominick Infante, national manager of product communications at Subaru of America, was able to secure a drive in one of the only two 22Bs in the US. He details the car's history and some of the design and engineering cues that made the Impreza STI so popular both in motorsport and on the street, but we were caught up listening to the exhaust and admiring the timeless blue-and-gold paint. 2014 Subaru Forester scores 5 stars in NHTSA crash test [w/video]
Fri, 23 Aug 2013Having aced the crash test from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and earning the highest rating of Top Safety Pick+, the 2014 Subaru Forester headed over to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for a date with destruction. In the barrage of NHTSA tests, the new Forester met similar results as it did with the IIHS, earning a five-star overall crash rating.
Comparing these number to the previous model, which carried a four-star rating in all areas, the new Forester did much better in the side-impact test to earn a full five stars; frontal and rollover ratings were still at four stars like the old model, but the improved side crashworthiness was enough to gain the NHTSA's highest overall rating.
