Subaru boxers offer a different type of flat-four thrum

If there's one number you'd associate with the Subaru Impreza, surely it'd be Four. Four generations, four doors, four-wheel drive, four cylinders in a boxer configuration. But in this Japanese market promo clip, Subaru has brought in another kind of boxer: the beat boxer.
Bringing in performers Kouteisennin and Time Machine, along with beat boxers Tatsuya and Rinka, the three-minute video clip below reinterprets the spirit of the Impreza through a mix of interpretive dance and human-generated beats that's rather hard to describe and needs to be seen - and heard. Subaru recalling 72k EyeSight-equipped sedans and CUVs

Despite critical acclaim, the Subaru EyeSight system is in a bit of trouble today. Some 72,000 cars and crossovers equipped with the comprehensive active safety suite are being recalled. Affected vehicles include the 2015 and 2016 model year Legacy sedans built from March 10, 2014 to April 16, 2015, Outback crossovers built between February 24, 2014 and April 16, 2015, XV Crosstrek CUVs built from October 16, 2014 to April 15, 2015. Also included are EyeSight-equipped 2016 WRX sedans built after March 23, 2015. The problem rests with the EyeSight system's pre-collision braking system, or perhaps more accurately, the switch that activates the brake lights. According to the bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, should that switch fail, not only will the brake lights not turn on, the automatic braking system won't work either. Subaru is in the process of notifying owners, who will need to report to dealers to have the system reprogrammed. Scroll down for the official notification from NHTSA. Subaru recalls 3k Legacy and Outback models for fluid leak

Subaru is recalling 2,893 examples of the 2015-2016 Legacy and Outback because of a potential transmission fluid leak on the two models. The affected vehicles carry build dates between July 3 and July 25, 2015 for the Legacy, and until July 27 on the Outback. According to a Subaru document posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (as a PDF), during production, the seal cap in the propeller shaft yoke may have been deformed. This could cause a transmission fluid leak, and "there is a possible risk of fire" if the liquid drips onto the exhaust, the report says. Dealers will replace the entire prop shaft on these models, and repairs will start on August 28. New examples will carry a stop-sale until fixed.
