Up for sale is a beautiful 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Wagon Automatic AWD, with 142,539 miles. Atlantic Blue Peral exterior and two-tone beige/black leather interior. One owner car, zero accidents on the carfax/auto check report. This vehicle needs nothing, and is a truly pleasure to drive. I just replaced the turbo with a brand new unit, not a rebuild! I replaced it with the much more reliable W44 model, as opposed to the stock W40. I have paperwork for the turbo, also purchaced from the only turbo expert in the tri state area. Also replaced with the turbo, and the reason the old one failed, is the banjo bolt for the oil pipe to the turbo. There is a screen in the bolt, and it tends to get cloged, even with regular oil changes. That bolt should be serviced every 30,000 miles. This thing pulls pretty hard, smooth effortless power. All four wheel bearings have been replaced. The rears were just done, and the fronts were replaced last year. The timing belt and waterpump were done at 110k. The engine and transmission are in perfect condition, not the slightest sign of wear or hesitation. This thing is clean, inside and out. No check engine light or any other warning light at all. There are a couple very small dings, you really have to look for them. The interior is an eight and a half out of ten. The leather is just about perfect. Everything inside and out is functional. Options include the electronic paddle shifters on the steering wheel, dual moon roofs, dual heated power seats, Flawless Leather, auto dim rear view mirror, 6 disc cd w/premium sound, abs, cruise control, Ice Cold A/C, roof rack, and Subaru Momo shift knob. This car needs nothing, maybe tires in a year. This vehicle will be fully detailed upon delievery, all fluids are new. Tires are 75%, and are well balanced. This will make a great car for many years to come, the car needs nothing. All this car will need is regular oil changes, and that stupid bolt every two years. Thanks for looking, feel free to call me with any questions. Buyer pays All transport charges and fees. This vehicle is being sold as is/where is. The turbo can be confirmed localy!

Scion rules out roadster, turbo versions of FR-S
Tue, Nov 25 2014Ever since Toyota and Subaru released the sports car alternatively known as the GT86, 86, BRZ and Scion FR-S a couple of years ago, rumors have circulated that even more exciting variants could be in store. But at least as far as Scion is concerned, those rumors are apparently nothing more than wishful thinking. Speaking with WardsAuto at the LA Auto Show last week, Scion chief Doug Murtha said that the prospect of an FR-S roadster has been taken off the table entirely. Apparently Scion lobbied parent company Toyota to produce just such a model, but after failing to find other markets interested enough in the model to put it into production, corporate HQ said no. "I think we were pretty aggressive on our (submitted plan), but we looked at what we would have conceivably lost on the product and said, 'We're not going to even push it further,'" Murtha said, going on to note, "Nobody was more disappointed than we were." Murtha further shot down the idea of a turbo version of the FR-S, dismissing it as a prospect the blogosphere (that's us) wanted to happen but "that's not something that's coming." Either variant might have helped Scion and Toyota boost sales of the model (which are predictably dropping after their first two years on the market), but the investment also might not have paid off their development, tooling and marketing costs. Of course, Murtha can only speak for Toyota, but we'd be surprised to see Subaru go it alone on either model, as costs would be that much more prohibitive without a partner. Bummer.
Subaru facing class-action suit over excess oil use
Tue, 22 Jul 2014A recently filed lawsuit in federal court against Subaru of America and its parent Fuji Heavy Industries claims that several recent models burn an excessive amount of oil. The case, which is seeking class-action status, covers examples of the 2011-2014 Forester, 2013 Legacy and 2013 Outback with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and the 2012-2013 Impreza and 2013 XV Crosstrek with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder.
The suit alleges that Subaru knew about the excessive oil consumption but didn't fix the problem, according to USA Today. It contends that owners have to spend an unreasonable amount of money to keep these models topped up with Texas tea, and that the people represented wouldn't have bought the vehicle if they had known that this could happen.
As proof of Subaru's knowledge of excessive oil use, the lawsuit cites four technical service bulletins from the company telling dealers about the issue, although, that would seem to partially invalidate the claim that the automaker hasn't attempted to fix things. The case was filed on behalf of two men, one with a 2014 Forester and the other with a 2013 Outback. "Following an extensive investigation, we now look forward to litigating the case," said Matthew Schelkopf, an attorney for the plaintiffs, to USA Today.
Subaru gives Aussies BRZ Sports Pack
Mon, 08 Jul 2013Well, it might not be exactly the Subaru BRZ STI that we've all been waiting for, but Australian market shoppers are now going to have the option of adding some STI flavor to their coupe, with this new BRZ S.
Critically, the Sports Pack upgrades included in the S specification do not involve forced induction of any kind for the BRZ's 2.0-liter flat-four mill. Instead, the BRZ S will offer a novel flexible strut tower brace and a coilover suspension to aid its already impressive handling prowess. Visually, the car gets a new aero kit with lowered skirts and a new front and rear splitter, as well as some mean-looking, 17-inch black wheels. Inside, a new gearlever and a STI-branded starter button will call out the S model.
The S package can be ordered on a new BRZ and fitted at the dealer, or added to an existing customer car. When ordered new, the BRZ S adds $7,995 Australian - about $7,275 US including installation - to the price of the six-speed manual car, or $7,195 Australian ($6,547 US) for the six-speed automatic transmission model. That's a pretty fat wedge of cash, but it's worth bearing in mind that Australians generally pay significantly more for new cars than we do here in the States. For instance, the BRZ starts at $37,150 Australian, nearly $34k US. Even accounting for regional equipment differences, that's a lot more than the BRZ's $26,265 as-delivered base MSRP here in America.
