2000 Subaru Legacy L Awd Wagon on 2040-cars
New York, New York, United States
This 2000 Subaru Legacy L Wagon
is in great mechanical condition with 125K miles, being sold with NO RESERVE. A very well maintained car, with no
known mechanical issues. The vehicle has AWD (All Wheel
Drive) and is absolutely great in the snow and rain. The second row-of-seats
fold down flat to create extra space to carry large and long items. It features a powerful engine and
delivers about 28 MPG (highway). This car has durable, comfortable and clean
seats with no stains, with all five, matching,
clean headrests, having only one, non-smoking, meticulous owner, who has kept the car garaged when not in use. It also has a fully retractable cargo
cover that’s in great shape and a heavy rubber cargo mat with no tears that
protects the absolutely clean cargo floor carpeting. The stereo and all
speakers work great with a radio, cassette and an upgraded multi-CD player. An
upgraded rear spoiler was added. The car comes with two keys, one with remote open and lock. The spare tire and jack are original and in great shape. All 4 tires have plenty of tread and have never been punctured (recently replaced at 106,00K mi.). The air conditioner, heater, cruise control, automatic windows, auto-locks, all gauges, emergency light indicators, emergency brake and all interior and exterior lights, work great. This vehicle passed New York State inspection and emission test in July 2013. Oil changed religiously every 3K miles. There are some minor dents and scratches on the body, inevitable for a car of this age, as shown in photos. The hood has a tiny paint fleck that was not photographable. The interior has very few issues— a small crack in the outer plastic speaker cover on the passenger side door. The “D” drive indicator letter does not illuminate when in that gear. This car is being sold because of rising parking costs in Manhattan. I hate to sell it, but whoever buys it should be happy with a dependable car that’s great in inclement weather, and should continue to be for years and miles to come. Recent upkeep includes the following: New rear rotors, calipers and pads 02/2012 New front rotors, calipers and pads 118,000 miles 02/12/2013 New exhaust system and
muffler 03/26/2013 New timing belt and water
pump 90,000
miles New Tires (4) 106,000
miles New Bosch battery 02/2012 Catalytic convertor replaced
under warranty All minor early recall
issues repaired Winner’s payment in full must be received via Paypal within 48 hours from the close of auction. Purchaser must pick up this car no later than October 30, 2013. This vehicle is sold as-is, whereas with no expressed, written, special or implied warranties. No allowance or set-aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the Buyer to have thoroughly reviewed the details of this vehicle, and to be satisfied as to the condition and value prior to bidding and purchasing. The Seller has made every reasonable effort to disclose any known issues associated with this vehicle. The car is located in the Union Square area in Manhattan, accessible by train, subway or bus. A great car especially for this part of the country. Thanks for looking and happy bidding.

What grownups drive (fast) | 2017 Subaru Forester 2.0XT Touring Review
Mon, Apr 10 2017If you look at the 2017 Forester XT Touring and don't notice the changes compared to the 2016 model, we won't blame you. They're subtle. The naturally aspirated models get a new front bumper that matches the surrounding body color, but the turbo model we drove still has the black gap in the middle. The grille gives up the wide mesh look for a pattern that subtly accentuates the Pleiades badge. Look into the updated Forester's eyes, though, and you might see a new spark of beauty, with a redesign that prominently features a surrounding strip of LEDs. There's also a new color; our test vehicle came in the new-for-2017 Sepia Bronze Metallic paint, a tasteful brown(-ish) that might let you get away with going longer between washes. On the inside, this Forester had the new Saddle Brown leather interior exclusive to the Touring trim. It's the rich sort of brown that reminds one of a rustic but well-appointed hunting lodge, where one would expect to catch a whiff of pipe tobacco and whiskey. It just smelled like a normal car, though, at least before we got in it. Touring spec also offers up a heated steering wheel and seats, the automotive equivalent to a chair in front of the fireplace. Most touch points are attended to with sturdy-feeling materials, and the most important one – the wheel – feels grippy and comfortable without being overwrought. The front seats are firm but comfortable, with an upright seating position. They're a bit reminiscent of those moderately expensive high-back office chairs, except in this case, the office rolls around with the seat. Sitting behind them isn't bad, either, as they're shaped in a way that carves out extra room for the knees. The door openings are large enough to make ingress and egress an easy task, which is a merciful thing, especially when wrestling a car seat into the back. As for our own rear-facing kid carrier, it fits in the Forester just fine, but, when clipped in the passenger side, means the front occupant is just one click closer to the dash than they'd be ideally. Their knees won't be crunched into the glove box, though (that's a position some of us have learned to live with in other cars with a rear-facing car seat installed). The view from the driver's seat is exceptional. Tall, wide windows let you keep track of everything that's going on around you. They also bring in a lot of light, and piloting the Forester is a bit like driving a greenhouse on wheels.
2018 Subaru Crosstrek improves on an already winning formula
Tue, Mar 7 2017There's a brand-new Subaru Crosstrek on the way for 2018, and the European version, known as the XV, is making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. There's every reason to expect the new Crosstrek to be a stunning sales success. In 2016, Subaru sold 95,677 Crosstreks in the United States, easily besting models like the WRX, Legacy, and the Impreza upon which it's based. Those sales represented a 7.6 percent gain over the previous year, which is especially impressive considering that the Crosstrek is very much starting to show its age. The mini-crossover inherits all the benefits of the latest Impreza, including a stiff new chassis that promises drastically improved driving dynamics. Following in the footsteps of the larger Outback, which is based on the midsize Legacy, the Crosstrek adds a bit more ground clearance and aggressive off-road-lite styling to the compact Impreza hatchback. Don't expect the Crosstrek to tackle the Rubicon Trail – Subaru says it will have "excellent rough-road capability" – but do expect it to sell in droves in areas that get significant amounts of snow. View 15 Photos A 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine delivers 154 horsepower to all four wheels through a continuously variable transmission. We generally prefer traditional stepped-gear transmissions, but Subaru has a history of keeping its CVTs pretty well behaved. Seven pre-programmed gear ratios can be selected by the driver in manual mode. A quick 13:1 steering ratio, active torque vectoring technology, and a lower center of gravity will all deliver dividends on the road, and 8.6 inches of ground clearance mean hard parts won't scrape the ground when the paved roads come to an end. All new Crosstrek models will come standard with EyeSight, a safety system that includes pre-collision braking control, adaptive cruise, and lane-keeping assistance. Blind-spot detection, lane-change assistance and reversing assistance will also be available. Expect more information to filter out soon, and stay tuned for live photos when we hit the show floor in Geneva. The US-spec Crosstrek will make its debut in April at the 2017 New York Auto Show.
