1996 Subaru Legacy Outback Wagon 4-door 2.5l Auto Abs All Wheel Drive on 2040-cars
Baltimore, Maryland, United States
Thanks for looking at my 1996 Subaru Outback, which needs a new home. I bought it 3.5 years ago from a friend who headed overseas. I have all the maintainence records from the past 8 years. It HAS had the timing belt and transfer clutches done. It also appears very straight and original. I am only selling because I cannot tow it behind my motorhome. Recent service items are -new windshield, flush radiator and power steering fluids. New right front axle and left front brake caliper. The engine runs smoothly no knocks or smoke. All wheel drive and ABS work fine. Transmission shifts into gear smoothly. Tires are Michelin Hydroedge. LOTS of tread left, but my tire guy said to replace them spring 2015 because they will be 10 years old. The power windows, heat, A/C, cruise control ALL WORK. the power door locks always lock but occasionally do not unlock all doors. This is the only electric not working perfectly. This is a good car. I would take this car on a long trip again if I kept it. NO ODORS Interior is in very good condition. The hula dash girl has to stay. I glued it on. Exterior is consistent with age and milage (not perfect) see pics. Please Email any questions or call my cell 410-937-1417. I am willing to work with a shipper but buyer pays.

Next Subaru WRX and STI to go sedan only; reveal headed for LA
Mon, 26 Aug 2013After a serious bit of teasing at the 2013 New York Auto Show, Subaru might be finally preparing to pull the sheets off of the production versions of the new WRX and STI. The venue, according to Automotive News, will be the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Besides that tasty bit of info, AN has a number of other interesting ideas about the 2015 WRX.
If you've been a fan of the five-door bodystyle, don't read this - the next WRX and STI will reportedly go four-door only. We've already seen the latter's whopping great wing, a tradition we're happy to see soldering on for next-gen car. According to the AN report, power figures to be around 265 horsepower from a 2.5-liter, turbocharged, flat-four engine.
Los Angeles is still quite far off, so expect to hear more rumblings about a production WRX or STI in the coming weeks. Take a look above for our most recent batch of spy photos, and then hop down below for some images of the stunning WRX Concept that was shown at New York.
Subaru axes WRX and STI in UK
Fri, 14 Dec 2012Auto Express reports Subaru will stop selling the Impreza, WRX and WRX STI in the UK starting next year. A spokesperson with the company said Subaru has been evaluating the Impreza and its performance in the UK for the past year and has finally decided to pull the plug. That means all of the model's performance iterations will also drop off of dealer lots, including the WRX and the STI. The unnamed spokesperson said Subaru UK currently has no plans to to bring more stock of either model once the current supply sells out. That means buyers in the UK have until around early summer 2013 to get their hands on an STI.
The move comes in response to slow demand, which has trickled off in the face of competition that best the machine in terms of refinement, performance and emissions. Moving forward, the automaker says it will focus its sales efforts on models like the XV Crosstrek, Forester and Outback, as well as the company's new BRZ sports coupe.
