Subaru Impreza Wrx Sti Sedan 4-door on 2040-cars
De Mossville, Kentucky, United States
I am selling my 2007 Subaru WRX STi. I am the only and original owner. Clear title in my possession. No accidents or damage. I purchased it brand new off the showroom floor in 2007 and have meticulously cared for it every day since. It has always been garaged. Non smoker, no kids and no dogs. I am almost 40 years old, so this is not a beat up highschool/college kid car like most STi's you will find out there. I have respected and taken care of this car for 8 years and it has rewarded me as being the best car I have and probably will ever own. It has no hidden issues or problems, runs extremely strong, is very fast and very fun and has been extremely reliable for me. Only two issues ever came up; a leaking rear cv boot, and later a stiff first gear sychro. Both were promptly resolved under warranty with a new rear axle shaft and a new first gear assembly. No other issues in 8 years of ownership. There are a few scratches/tiny dings as shown in the pictures, as well as roadwear/nicks on most of the front bumper and lower area of the hood as pictured. The car did not see much winter driving as I have had an SUV for winter duty, which is reflected in the low mileage for the model year. I am including the original set of winter wheels and tires I purchased after I bought the car. They also reflect the low winter use, and are not even at the wear bar indicators yet. I am also including several other original/extra parts. If you have never driven one of these cars, expect to be impressed. Their bite is much stronger than their bark. This a driver's car - fast, firm and responsive. This car is ready to go and is in immaculate condition compared to other STi's you will find with comparable miles. It performs beautifully, is very fast for being so close to stock, and is extremely rewarding to drive in all conditions. You will not be disappointed. Maintenance/parts list in approximate chronological order: -Followed factory break in procedure. -I had Subaru perform all service until around 10,000 miles. -All oil changes since then have been full synthetic Amsoil. -Cobb Tuning stage 1 Accessport tune to comply with factory warranty. -Cobb Tuning Double Adjustable Billet short shifter. -Borla XR-1 3" Stainless Catback Exhaust (a rare find nowadays - quiet at idle after warmup, very deep rumble after that, yet no highway drone). -Supension mildly tightened to reduce body roll and nose dive: Racecomp Engineering Yellows, Cobb Tuning Sway Bars with Billet Links, Rear aluminum Strut Brace. -Full service at 50,000 miles: all fluids and oils replaced, new dba4000 brake rotors, Stoptech pads, Goodridge Stainless Steel brake lines (all much better than stock). -Cobb Tuning Downpipe and SF Intake and Heat Shield, with matching stage 2 Accessport tune. According to Cobb this setup provides about 350hp/390tq at the crank. -OEM specific Bridgstone RE07R tires replaced last year. These tires were so good that I opted for them again. -Total of over $4000 invested in extras and upgrades. The winning bidder/offer will have to pick up the car within 10 days. I will not ship but I am willing to pick up buyer at nearby airports (SDF, CVG, LEX). $500 Paypal deposit required within 24 hours. Remainder of balance must be cash or certified check from major bank/credit union. Payment will have to clear before car or title is taken delivery of. Car is sold as-is, no warranty. If you arrive to pick up the car and find it not to your satisfaction, I will provide a refund of your deposit minus $200 for ebay fees. Please feel free to email me with any questions.

Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?
Thu, 25 Sep 2014People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.
Subaru WRX STI S207 limited to 400 units in Japan only
Wed, Oct 28 2015Japanese Subaru fans are getting quite a treat in time for Halloween. The brand is unveiling the WRX STI S207 edition at the Tokyo Motor Show. Unfortunately for brand devotees elsewhere, the market-exclusive, high-performance model is limited to just 400 units there. For such a small run of cars, the folks at Subaru Tecnica International are adding quite a bit to take the STI's performance to new heights. Among the upgrades, the 2.0-liter, turbocharged boxer now makes 323 horsepower and 318 pound-feet of torque – a healthy jump compared to 305 hp and 290 lb-ft from the 2.5-liter engine in the US-market version. Beyond the extra power, the sedan also wears a load of parts to improve chassis stiffness and a DampMatic II adjustable front suspension from Bilstein. Styling sees some slight tweaks with a red-outlined mesh grille, chin spoiler, 19-inch BBS wheels, and a redesigned rear bumper. Inside, the front passengers are held tight in leather-trimmed Recaro seats. If the 400 units aren't exclusive enough, Subaru technically breaks the S207 into three special editions. A planned run of 200 units will feature the NBR Challenge Package that's inspired by the company's class victory in the 2015 Nurburgring 24 Hours. It adds a carbon fiber rear spoiler, black wheels, red seatbelts, and an Ultrasuede-covered steering wheel. A hundred of those are the NBR Challenge Package Yellow Edition that come exclusively in Sunrise Yellow with black-painted door mirrors and side sills. Depending on the version, prices before Japan's consumption tax would be between $46,050 and $48,950 at current exchange rates. Related Video: STI Releases "S207" Limited-Edition "WRX STI" in Japan October 28, 2015 Tokyo, October 28, 2015 – Subaru Tecnica International (STI),*1 the motorsports division of Fuji Heavy Industries, will launch a limited-edition model based on the "WRX STI" on December 1, 2015. Just 400 units of the model, dubbed the "S207", will be available. Taking the WRX STI as its base, this complete car from STI features exclusive engine and suspension tuning as well as distinctive interior and exterior design. Embracing the STI concept of offering the ultimate in road driving, the S207 stands at the pinnacle of the STI complete car lineup and aims to be the world's most enjoyable vehicle, providing a feel-good experience to all those who travel in it regardless of road conditions and enhancing driver skill. Special engine tuning boosts maximum power output to 328 PS.
Edmunds ranks the best used cars for 2013
Sun, 15 Sep 2013When people ask us what car we would recommend for them, it's usually not easy to answer. To make a useful recommendation we must consider which of the numerous vehicle segments fits their needs best, and then choose one of the many vehicles offered in each segment. For some people, new cars don't meet their expectations of value, because they lose so much of it the moment they are purchased and driven off the dealer lot. For them, there's always the used-car market, where great deals can be found, but cars' histories of reliability and maintenance records - and perhaps that Certified Pre-Owned warranty - become ever-important factors playing into purchase choice.
To help out, Edmunds has done us the favor of assembling a list of the best used vehicles money can buy, covering model years 2006-2011, according to what it considers the most important criteria when shopping for used autos: reliability, safety, value and availability. That means unreliable, unsafe, super-expensive or limited-edition models don't appear on the list, but instead cars from each segment that are more likely to satisfy the general population.
There are some real goodies on the list, including but not limited to vehicles such as the capable Honda Fit, the cultish Honda Accord coupe (which can be had with a 240-horsepower V6 and a six-speed manual transmission some years), and the powerful Chevrolet Corvette. While Edmunds' choice of the Volvo C70 for best used convertible baffled us at first (not that it's a bad car), it redeemed itself by stating that the Mazda MX-5 still is an unofficial top choice if you don't require more than two seats.
