PLEASE NOTE: Clean CarFax in hand confirms no problems and values my car at $2470.00 over retail book value due to one owner and complete maintenance history.  Please see the last two photos.

One non-smoking owner/driver.  Always Orlando, Florida, based.  69 year old safe-driver is downsizing: driven 3395 miles in 2013, and only 1793 miles in 2014 so it is time to let go.  Always garaged.  Regularly waxed.  Always dealer serviced.  Every service record. Original window sticker, all manuals, sales brochure. There are no mechanical issues and the car is rust-free. Spare tire never used.

This car was dealer-configured at delivery in its present form to include: gold BBS wheels (instead of the usual silver), standard Impreza rear wing/trunk lid/torsion bar, fog lights instead of air dams, removal of chrome on exhaust pipe, and removal of STi badging.

COMPLETELY STOCK except for the dealer-installed KartBoy shifter with urethane bushings.

The car has Bell Pro RX65 radar detectors (two independent systems, front and rear) with a Bell 905 (front and rear) laser system, SiriusXM receiver (subscription required), factory sub-woofer, and four upgraded door speakers from Crutchfield.

On October 11, 2011, at 97,168 miles, a complete inspection and repair was performed under a 100K extended warranty installing the following factory new certified Subaru parts: head gaskets and cylinder bolts, turbocharger, a/c compressor, clutch disc, timing belt, water pump, a/c serpentine belt, thermostat, fresh coolant, fresh freon, fresh clutch fluid, oil/filter, and tire rotation.   Everything we could think of for the next 100K miles.

Special note: This car has been serviced with Kendall semi-synthetic oil and the engine is covered by Conoco-Phillips limited warranty against lubricant-related equipment failure. A copy of this warranty is included in the service records.

The car is flawless except for a scratch in the lower right front bumper (in pictures) and minor seat wear on the driver's seat.  Included is a new factory seat cushion and cover still in the box ($400.).  The tires are a matched set of 4 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 installed at 74,170 miles and have 4/32 of the original 10/32 tread left (340 treadwear rating).

Terms of Sale:  A PayPal deposit of $1000.00 within 24 hours of sale.  If you use the "Buy it Now", please make an immediate PayPal deposit of $2000.00 so I can stop the auction.  I will be glad to pick you up at the Orlando airport.  We can go to the Subaru dealer and get an oil change and inspection for you.  Then we can go to the local branch of your bank (the dealer is in zip code 32773) to get a cashier's check.  Please note, since there is so much check fraud, previously prepared cashier's checks are not acceptable forms of payment.

I have the clear "no lien" Florida title in hand.  In Florida the plate stays with the owner, so please bring a plate or check with your DMV for a temporary tag.  One final note, I am enrolled in a Subaru program that provides up to $500.00 per year for parts and maintenance. Please remind me to get you the application forms.

Consumer Reports sneaks in early review of 2015 Subaru Outback

Wed, 21 May 2014

Subaru is taking a bit of a measured risk with its new generation of Legacy and Outback. While they ride on a slightly larger platform than before, with a revised front-end design, neither of them looks to be a radical departure from models they replace. Instead of focusing on exterior styling, the Japanese brand is trying to make the vehicles better to own with more sound deadening, improved fuel economy and more available tech. Pricing for the 2015 Outback isn't available yet, but with the 2015 Legacy pricing as a guide, it's likely a few hundred dollars more than the current model.
We just had our first stab at the new Legacy, which is slated to go on sale this summer, but Consumer Reports managed to snag an early look at the 2015 Outback in a sort of mini-review to get an idea of how the new model shakes out. Like many, we'd wager, CR isn't completely sold on the new styling, but seems otherwise moderately impressed by the upgrades. The improvements to the interior and infotainment system are especially well received by them. Naturally, though, CR notes that not everything is perfect with the high-riding wagon.
Scroll down to watch CR's preview of the new Outback and see what it thinks of this practical family hauler.

Sunday Drive: A tale of old favorites and upcoming challengers

Sun, Oct 8 2017

Sedans and crossovers dominated the attention of our readers last week, led by the completely redesigned 2018 Honda Accord. It's the Japanese automaker's flagship, and people are seriously interested in finding out how good the latest Accord is. So interested, in fact, that no other single story came close to the brand-new Accord in Autoblog reader interest. Moving down the list we find the equally new 2018 Buick Enclave. The three-row crossover has a lot to offer a family, especially one looking for a nice, quiet ride. If you're looking for the exact opposite of nice and quiet, but still want enough room for you and your significant others, the Subaru WRX that we tested last week may be the perfect ride for you. Or, if you just want to drive fast and aren't at all worried about space, there's the Camaro SS. See? We offer something for everybody. From there, we look to the future. Who isn't interested in seeing the first fully electric vehicle from Porsche? And who isn't intrigued to see the Mission E testing alongside a gaggle of Teslas? A brand-new Jeep is always a big deal, especially when it's the revival of a classic nameplate like the Grand Wagoneer. And finally, we have something completely different: the Rezvani Tank. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2018 Honda Accord First Drive | Feels like home again 2018 Buick Enclave First Drive Review | Fortress of quietude 2018 Subaru WRX Drivers' Notes | Turbo traditionalist 2018 Chevy Camaro SS Drivers' Notes | Demonstrative power, middling interior Porsche Mission E caught testing against Teslas Jeep three-row SUV caught on public roads — Grand Wagoneer, perhaps? A closer look at the 2015 Subaru WRX

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

For enthusiasts, the debut of the 2015 Subaru WRX was arguably one of the more important happenings at last week's LA Auto Show. After all, the 'Rex has been one of our perennial favorite all-weather sports cars, able to offer big thrills in any clime thanks to its turbocharged engine, manual gearbox and top-notch all-wheel-drive system.
For 2015, some big changes have been made to our favorite Subie, including the removal of the hatchback body style and availability of a continuously variable transmission. Of course, there's also the new, 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, not to mention the completely revised styling.
Lots of talking points, for sure, so West Coast Editor Michael Harley chatted with Dominick Infante, national manager of product communications for Subaru USA, who promises us that this car will be the "best-handling WRX ever." As for that CVT, Infante assures us that it was "designed for a sports car" and that the company aims to change the minds of people (like us, admittedly) who have a hard time warming up to the idea of this transmission in a package like the WRX.
