Up for sale this week is my 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX. This is the 2.5 Automatic RS model. This car has 117k miles on it, and allthough its not perfect and has its small quirks, This is a 1 owner adult owned car!! This car has a CLEAN AND CLEAR TITLE! (i lost original and had to apply for another one, so you may see another owner on carfax.) I will try my best to describe everything below but it is ultimately the buyers job to come and inspect the car prior to purchase. Hopefully my feedback and number of years on ebay speaks volume.

*INTERIOR- The interior is a 9 out of 10. Like most cars it could use a good profesional detail. There are no rips in the seats or cracks in the dash. the radio has been removed, if i find another one, i will throw it in for free.  the ac and heat are good. this car was a NON smoker. This is equiped with all power options.  and last i checked all options worked. There are no LIGHTS on the DASH on.

*ENGINE - The engine is a 9 out of 10. This is the 2.5 RS 4 cyl Automatic motor. this thing runs like a champ! i did a tune up on it last year (plugs and air filter and cleaned throttle body) And just last december i did the Timing Belt on the car, please see photos!. This car has original 117,000 miles on original engine. The transmition is smoothe.  As stated above, it could use a good detail/cleaning.  There is nothing leaking from this car.  Engine was well maintained

*EXTERIOR- The exterior is a 8 out of 10. As you can see by the photos, the exterior is not perfect.  there are some Dings and Scratches here and there, wich is normal for a car that is over 10 years old. The drivers mirror has a crack in it, The right side fog light is broken and The front bumper is cracked, my wife hit a small concrete wall last year and i never got around to fixing it. All the lights work on the car, the tires are about 80% tread left. Breaks are about 50%.   Also i recieved a recall notice for the front lower control arms to be replaced due to rusting and breaking. I HAVE NOT DONE THIS YET. You can get this done free at your local Subaru dealer.  I am not a mechanic and will not attest to the under carrige of this car.... i do not know about ball joints, tie rods, exhaust, etc.  Please use your own judgement based on age and miles.

**I am a private person selling this car to the best of my knowledge. i AM NOT A MECHANIC. You are more than welcome to and view every inch of the car before buying it, in fact i highly recomend it. I can only tell you what i know and see. I am selling this car because i bought a new one and since they didnt want to give me more than $1000 trade in value, i decided to sell it on my own. There is NO Warranty or Guarantee with this car. Due to all the slight issues noted above. If you have any questions please ask BEFORE buying car, not after.

*** I accept paypal, bank certified checks and the good old "Green CASSH" in hand. a non refundable 500$ deposit is required within 48 hours of auction close. You then have 7 days to pay the balance in full and 10 days from auction end to remove the car from my property in Bridgewater, MA 02324. This is not a game, i cannot wait for you to get a personal loan, please have all the funds available when bidding. these auctions cost money, please dont waist my time, because i will chase you for the fees! If driving the car home, i can pick up from BOSTON LOGAN Airport. please let me know... if using a car carrier we are located in Bridgewater, MA 02324. 2017 Subaru Impreza sedan spied for the first time

Tue, Nov 3 2015

Subaru gave us a look at the attractive concept for the next-gen Impreza hatchback at the recent Tokyo Motor Show, but new spy shots present the opportunity to check out the production version as a four-door sedan. While camouflage makes the details harder to suss out, there are a few notable similarities. At the front, the concept's thicker grille and more angular headlights both appear present through the cladding. The shape of the A-pillar also looks alike. However, the visually interesting creases along the sides either aren't coming to production or are just very well hidden on this example. At the back, the taillight coverings suggest the C-shaped units from Tokyo might see production. In addition to the angular styling, the next-gen Impreza should see a mechanical overhaul by moving to Subaru's new modular platform featuring the company's more fuel efficient, direct-injected engine. Don't expect the brand's famous all-wheel drive to go anywhere. With production slated to move to the company's factory in Lafayette, Indiana, the latest Impreza should launch in the latter part of 2016 as a 2017 model. Hopefully we will get a better look at both the sedan and hatchback before then. Related Video:

Subaru uses a mime and a toy car to explain why it loves the boxer engine

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

I will freely admit to struggling with why Subaru continues to stubbornly employ a boxer engine design while so few other automakers do the same. After all, with twice the number of cylinder heads and cams as a traditional inline four-cylinder engine, a boxer four is more complex, more expensive to manufacture and more cumbersome to service with few tangible benefits. Until recently, the company's engines struggled to meet the fuel economy numbers of its competitors while offering no real boon in horsepower or torque. Subaru seems to recognize I'm not the only one scratching my head.
In order to help us non-believers understand what's what, the company has employed a pair of mimes, a toy car and a few clay engines to demonstrate the folly of every other automaker on the planet. Subaru says the boxer offers up a lower center of gravity than either an inline four-cylinder engine or a V6, which I will gladly concede. The company also says the design offers up smoother operation.
I'll offer just two counterpoints here. First, an engine with a low center of gravity is excellent, but when vehicles like the Forester, XV Crosstrek and Outback boast more ground clearance than most mainstream SUVs, that argument flies out the window. Second, anyone who's spent any amount of time behind the wheel of a vehicle equipped with an inline four and then proceeded to move into one propelled by a boxer can tell you the latter has all of the idling manners of a small tractor. Check out the video below to see for yourself.

Subaru funds Center For Pet Safety crash testing for dogs [w/video]

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

Crash-testing new vehicles to evaluate their ability to keep humans safe in accidents is nothing new, but thus far there has been little in the way of crash testing for dogs. Subaru, a company that portrays itself as pet friendly, hopes to raise awareness on the issue of pet safety by funding initial crash testing by the nonprofit Center for Pet Safety, Automotive News reports.
Real dogs were not used in the crash tests; three dummy dogs representing a 25-pound terrier, a 45-pound border collie and a 75-pound golden retriever were used. There are a variety of devices for sale that are supposed to restrain dogs from entering the front-seat area and distracting the driver - tethers, cages, nets and crates - but their effectiveness in a crash is unknown.
In Subaru's crash test, performed at a Virginia laboratory that tests child seats on a device that speeds down a track and stops abruptly, the results show that devices such as dog tethers are prone to break in a crash, sending the dog rocketing into whatever is in front of it. Rather alarmingly, the organization reports a 100-percent failure rate. In other words, "None of the harnesses were deemed safe enough to protect both the dog and the humans in the event of an accident." Yikes.
