A 2002 silver WRX wagon up for sale. Adult owned, never been to a track, never "launched", still has factory clutch! Currently running Cobb Tuning Stage 3 OTS map which is rated for 350HP (never been on an actual dyno). Stage 3+ includes: catless ERZ up pipe, 3" HKS catless Downpipe (I am including a catted 3" ERZ downpipe that I had previously installed), 3" cat back exhaust (sounds AWESOME), VF39 upgraded turbo, STI pink 565cc injectors, the biggest top mount intercooler made (give or take), Greddy recirculating Blow Off valve, Cobb Short Ram intake, Cobb Accessport V2. Always received Valvoline Full Synthetic oil, timing belt/water pump done around 70K. Never have to add oil, no smoke, interior all factory and everything works except the clock and the dealer installed optional subwoofer. Small power steering leak that requires a top off once a year for the last 3 years or so. Had been in some accidents before I owned it so not perfect (but looks pretty good until you really start looking close), has a salvage title although this is due to flood damage the year after it was made and not accident related, the only thing you could possibly still attribute to the flood damage is the optional subwoofer under the passenger seat. 149,317 almost exclusively highway miles, I have put 80,000 of these on commuting in the last 4 years. Runs at least as good now as the day I put the stage 3+ tune on. All of my coworkers are jealous of this car, buy it before they do, bidding starts at KBB Fair Book value.

Subaru Viziv 2 presages Tribeca replacement with diesel hybrid tech
Mon, 31 Mar 2014Subaru is in the middle of a new product bonanza. It has recent replacements for the Impreza and Forester at dealers, and soon we're getting the WRX, Legacy and if rumors are right the new Outback as well. Now, there are rumblings that there could be two more models from the Japanese brand on the way with styling inspired by the Viziv 2 concept from the Geneva Motor Show.
According to a company insider speaking with Motor Trend, the crossover concept shows the way for the brand's future design language. The shape would be used on a smaller CUV that is still being kept quite secret, and a second, larger one that would replace the recently axed Tribeca. The bigger model is the first priority and is planned as a new technology showcase.
It's rumored to use a turbodiesel, four-cylinder boxer engine that would be boosted with one electric motor on the front axle and two at the rear, with a plug-in hybrid system sourced from Toyota. It should provide a great mix of torque and fuel economy. A smaller flat-six engine would be a second powertrain option. Though the Viziv 2 concept only seats four, the production version would probably offer three rows.
Subaru gunning for 500,000 US sales by 2015
Fri, 20 Sep 2013For the last four years in a row, Subaru has experienced incredible sales growth including record sales of 336,441 units in 2012. This trend is all but guaranteed to continue this year with 281,652 on the books so far, but Automotive News is reporting the automaker has no plans of slowing down anytime soon.
The report says that Subaru is gunning for around 500,000 sales in the US by 2015, which doesn't seem like too far of a stretch considering 2013 sales totals are expected to top 400,000 units. Through August, Subaru's sales are up 29.3 percent compared to 2012, thanks to popular models like the Forester, Outback and, surprisingly, the WRX.
A new WRX is headed for an LA Auto Show reveal while an all-new Legacy is due out next year, and AN adds that Subaru is planning to significantly increase its media spending next year and start production of the Impreza sedan in the US in 2016.
Subaru's first hybrid drawing close
Sun, 27 Jan 2013In 2011 Subaru parent company Fuji Heavy Industries confirmed that a hybrid Subaru would debut this year. Ever since, there's been speculation about what kind of technology the gasoline-electric hybrid would use - Subaru's own or some version of the Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive, which car would debut the new system - Forester, Legacy, or Outback - and whether it would come to America or be a Japan-only model.
A report in The Detroit Bureau says that whatever that first model is, it could be shown as soon as the New York Auto Show, and while the company feels it's a must-have offering for the Japanese market it will also come to the US. It will have a Subaru-developed mild hybrid system that could have been previewed by the Hybrid Tourer concept shown at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show, and is not expected to be able to drive on electric power alone. The Hybrid Tourer used a direct-injected, 2.0-liter boxer engine connected to a CVT and assisted by an electric motor rated at 13 horsepower. Subaru has yet to give anything away about the details of its hybrid plans, so we'll look to New York for the long-awaited unveil.
