You are bidding on an All Wheel Drive (AWD) 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX Sport Wagon Turbo

I hate to get rid of it, but we just bought another Subaru. The WRX is a unique machine that combines the all-weather, all-road abilities associated with a sport-utility with the space and versatility of a wagon and the performance of a sports car. Perfect for the family or the serious tuner.  More pictures available upon request.

I am the only owner of this car.  I bought it new in 2002 in California and it has been a great car ever since, but my family just outgrew it.  Currently registered in Michigan, but lives in Virginia.  I would rate this car as GOOD on the Kelly Blue Book scale with the noted discrepancies.  Offering "Buy It Now" price below blue book and a low "Reserve."  If local, available to test drive.

SHIPPING
Buyer agrees to pay and coordinate all shipping costs and logistics.  I will drive the car to a shipping facility within the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area if necessary.  Car is located in Alexandria, VA.  Car can also be picked up if buyer is local.

PAYMENT
Cash prior to shipment or delivery.

Kelly Blue Book values:
Excellent $8073
Very Good $7723

Travis Pastrana puts on blue and gold Subaru jacket again

Wed, 15 Jan 2014

Travis Pastrana partnered with Subaru for eleven years, the relationship going especially well from 2006 to 2010 when Pastrana won four consecutive Rally America National Championships. They broke up in 2010 to give Pastrana space for his NASCAR fling and a couple of years in Global Rallycross with Dodge.
Giving up on his NASCAR dream last November has made possible a reconciliation with his former automotive love: Subaru has just announced that Pastrana will return to its Rally Team USA for the 2014 Rally America Championship, partnering with veteran team driver and current Rally America champion David Higgins.
Although the season begins later this month in Atlanta, Michigan, Pastrana won't return until the second round in February, the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood in Salem, Missouri. He'll also be at the start of the Global Rallycross round of the X-Games in June, but in a WRX STI this year instead of his erstwhile Dodge Dart. You'll find a press release below with a few more bits of information, and there's always this trip down memory lane...

Toyota GT86 turbo, convertible, sedan variants back on the table

Fri, 02 May 2014

Okay Toyota, make up your mind. Figure it out. Quit playing games with our heart. Either build a bunch of variations of the excellent GT86 (also known as the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ) or don't. At this point, we're just tired of the back and forth. After no shortage of denials, an Australian website is claiming that Toyota is reconsidering convertible, four-door, turbocharged and all-wheel-drive hybrid variants of the GT86. Kindly pass all the salt.
It's not that we don't want to believe the Aussies; we do. But when the story lists the same "sources in Japan" as a lot of the other denials and confirmations about GT86/BRZ/FR-S variants, well, there's a certain sense of the "Boy That Cried Wolf," here. Ignoring all that, then, what does Motoring.com.au claim to know?
Sources claim the GT86 Convertible will arrive in October 2014, while the turbocharged and hybrid sedans are slated for 2016.

Subaru revisits 1998 Impreza 22B STI

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

It was 1998 when Subaru made some crucial changes to its World Rally Championship Impreza, such as increasing the displacement of the turbocharged flat-four-cylinder engine from 2.0 to 2.2 liters and fitting wide fender flares. Subaru won the WRC manufacturer championship with the car that year, and it also was the year of the automaker's 40th anniversary. To celebrate the milestone, the company came out with this limited-edition, road-going Impreza, the hallowed 22B STI, which looked nearly identical to the rally car.
Only 424 22Bs were built, and most of them stayed in Japan. But Dominick Infante, national manager of product communications at Subaru of America, was able to secure a drive in one of the only two 22Bs in the US. He details the car's history and some of the design and engineering cues that made the Impreza STI so popular both in motorsport and on the street, but we were caught up listening to the exhaust and admiring the timeless blue-and-gold paint. You should too, so head below to watch the video.
