2011 Subaru Forester For Sale - 28,177 Miles

I am the original owner. All scheduled service has been completed by Sewell Subaru in Dallas. Absolutely no issues with the car, a faulty MAF sensor was replaced under warranty and other than that, it's a clean record. I have all the service invoices with the vehicle.

This is the base 2.5x model with the 5 speed MT. I have included quite a few extras that all come with the vehicle:

  • I ordered one without a roof rack so that I could put the much nicer Whispbar crossbars on it (these will come with the vehicle). They are removable, lockable, and mount directly to the factory mount points. They are very quiet and much more useful than the factory rack.
  • Comes with Curt class II hitch. I did not tow anything with the vehicle, it was only used for a hitch bike rack.
  • Comes with Enkei EKM 3 wheels in Gunmetal. You will also receive the stock 16" steelies should you choose to run off road tires or for a winter set. I did not keep the stock 16" plastic hubcaps however.
  • Hankook Optimo H727 Tires, much nicer than the stock tires. They have been on the vehicle since 500 miles and are at about 60% right now. They have been rotated every 5k.
  • Comes with full set of Weathertech floor mats + Weathertech cargo mat. Much nicer than stock.
  • Hella Supertone replacement of the weak stock horn
  • Sport grille installed (you also get the original grille if you want to swap it back out)
Condition of the car is excellent. Interior still looks new. There are a couple minor door dings that I had difficulty getting to show up in the photos, barely visible. Note, engine pic is dusty. I did not have the engine bay cleaned because it is just dust. I feel that it's not really necessary to clean it and could be risky if not done properly.

This has been a great car and would not be for sale, but my wife can not drive a MT and we need to be able to share vehicles, so this one has to go.

This car is paid for and I have the title in hand so an easy transaction. Contact me with any questions!

Are we about to see a real SUV revival?

Wed, Mar 23 2016

Now that the marketplace has been oversaturated with cute-utes, crossovers, and CUV coupes, are we about to see a resurgence of real, honest-to-God SUVs? Ummm... maybe. The stars seem to be aligning in that direction, at least that's the sense I'm getting. We know an all-new Jeep Wrangler is only a few auto shows away; and that Jeep is about to introduce a new Grand Cherokee Trailhawk for 2017, in the same rugged spirit of the successful Cherokee and Renegade Trailhawks. Ford has hinted at a neo-Bronco, after showing the concept above in 2014 to wet the mouths of all those Duck Dynasty-types out there. And, and... wait for it... I recently learned that Subaru sent a questionnaire out to some Forester owners asking if they might be interested in an off-road package if it were offered. The items listed were pretty hardcore, serious stuff, such as: integrated tow/recovery hooks, additional ground clearance, more rugged wheels, skid plates, altimeter, front-view off-road camera, improved approach and departure angles, advanced differentials, Inclinometer, full-size spare tire, upgraded off-road suspension components, more aggressive tires, off-road driving mode (engine, transmission, throttle, and steering settings), more rugged styling, low-range gearing, and a more advanced traction management system. Folks that's not my wish list (well, actually it is), but those are words from Subaru, asking if that's what customers would like to see. Need proof? Go to the SubaruForester.org website. It's in a discussion there. So... no promises or guarantees here, and feel free to call me a rumormonger if you like; but the next few years could prove very interesting for those who actually do go off road. If this pans out, remember, you read it here first. Related Video: Image Credit: Ford Ford Jeep Subaru Crossover SUV Off-Road Vehicles open road

Subaru details BRZ tS, stops short of full-on STI

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

Fans of the sweet-handling Subaru BRZ awaiting some performance enhancements got their hopes up earlier this month when parent Fuji Heavy Industries dropped some teasers hinting at an apparent STI version, but as was subsequently suspected, the model in question - now revealed in full - stops short of being a full-on STI model.
What we're looking at here is the new Subaru BRZ tS, which incorporates a series of enhancements but leaves the engine alone. Available exclusively in the Japanese Domestic Market, the BRZ tS package includes a thicker driveshaft, a front lip spoiler, Brembo ventilated brake discs packed inside 18-inch wheels and a smattering of STI logos inside and out. STI has also upgraded the suspension components, retuned the stability control and exhaust note and enhanced the interior with some carbon and Alcantara touches. An additional GT package includes further upgrades, most noticeably the giant rear wing (made of carbon fiber) shown above, black-painted alloys and Recaro bucket seats.
Only 500 examples of the BRZ tS will be offered in Japan, with no more than 250 of those outfitted with the supplementary GT package. Here's hoping Subaru gives us a taste on this side of the Pacific as well - or better yet, maybe they'll quit joking around and give us the full-on STI already.

Subaru unveils catchily named WRX STI tS Type RA in Japan

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

We feel safe in saying it's time for Subaru to step away from the keyboard for a spell. The company just unveiled this new WRX STI tS Type RA in Japan, and while the car features all sorts of tricks to help it stand out from the rest of the WRX rabble, it also boasts a name that looks like the product of a good old fashioned QWERTY Hulk smash. Nomenclature aside, this WRX STI features a revised suspension with tweaked springs and dampers as well as a faster steering ratio, Brembo brakes and a front strut tower brace.
JDM buyers can pick between the ever-sexy (if loud) Tangerine Orange Pearl paint seen here, Satin White Pearl or Blue Mica. There's also available NBR Challenge Package, complete with a set of Recaro front seats, a few carbon fiber aero bits and 18-inch BBS forged wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE070 rubber. How's that for delicious?
Subaru is only planning to crank out 300 WRX STI tS Type RA units, two-thirds of which will carry the NBR goodies.
