Purchased used in April 2012 for $21,321.97 with $17,555 miles on it.

I've put all nearly every single one of those 40,000 miles on the car via highway miles for work across North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina. Typically averages 23.5 miles gallon combined. I am technically the 4th owner -- but really only the second owner. The middle two owners were 2 different auto dealerships that just had the car in inventory over a period of 8 months before I purchased. The 1st owner was corporate ownership from a company in Pennsylvania that I actually spoke with before purchasing from a local dealer in North Carolina who had left their registration information in the car. Never had any problems or accidents with the vehicle. They traded the car in on 8/23/11 and I purchased in April of 2012. All of this will be confirmed by a Carfax. The car has a clear title and is smoke-free.

Forester comes loaded with: 4-cyl PZEV 2.5 liter engine, Automatic 4 speed, AWD, hillstart assist, traction control, vehicle dynamic control, ABS (4-wheel), keyless entry (two sets of keys and remotes), air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, power steering tilt wheel, auxiliary audio input/ipod integration, am/fm stereo, single disc CD, dual air bags, side air bags, heated premium cloth seats, panorama roof (extra large sunroof), privacy glass (tined rear windows), daytime running lights, roof rack, premium allow wheels, just put new Cooper CS4 Touring tires on it last year -- approximately 90% tread life remains, large trunk with storage underneath and spare tire.

Mechanically perfect -- no known issues whatsoever. Forester has been serviced every 3500 miles since purchased. There are just a couple of exterior blemishes to note: right rear bumper scuffed a little due to someone slightly scraping me in a parking lot and driving off. Additionally, on the right rear end of the roof rack finish is slightly scraped off in one concentrated area. I was parked at a restaurant near a stop sign and backed up underneath the stop sign in a slightly bone-headed move that allowed one corner of the stop sign to scrape this mark. Sorry about that one.

Otherwise, nothing else to note. Interior is very clean with the sporadic routine nick or scuff. Nothing noticeable.

I'm selling because my second child its on its way and we have too much money tied into car payments that is needed elsewhere. Hate to sell the Sub since I've just had it a couple of years, but other things in life are taking precedence at the moment.  My loss is your gain! Local pick-up only. The vehicle is still under finance and my local credit union will have the title waiting on the buyer at pick-up -- so title is essentially in hand. We will meet at the bank and transfer payment and title. I will pass along those directions upon receipt of $500 deposit due at selling. Please read and ask specific questions -- no warranty is expressed or implied.

Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ successor canceled?

Tue, Jan 29 2019

Rumors indicate that the Toyota 86 is done for. Japanese Nostalgic Car is quoting Japanese sources as saying Toyota and Subaru have parted ways regarding the 86 and that the current car's replacement is off the table. According to JNC, the Japanese magazine Best Car is readying a report that the 86/BRZ successor has been canceled. JNC also considers the fact that in Japan, there will be a four-cylinder, 197-horsepower version of the new Supra, ready to continue where the 86 will leave the market. Back in 2016 the automaker seemingly confirmed that a replacement for the rear-drive car was under development, but plans can change and with a cheaper Supra version for sale in markets outside the U.S., we have to wonder if the 86 replacement has been shelved. The 86, while balanced, has only received mild enhancements and not a lot of extra power during its near-decade long time on the market, and it isn't such a strong seller that it would necessarily merit the effort of Toyota developing a successor on its own, particularly without the help of a partner like Subaru or BMW. At the same time, Autocar quotes Toyota boss Akio Toyoda on the Supra: "At the end of the day, is there anything better than a tight rear-wheel-drive sports car? I hope this won't be the last Toyota sports car you see from us in the future." While that is far from a solid statement of Toyota's future intent, it paves the way to offerings below the Supra, and shows how much the company boss cares about driver involvement. There is a distinct possibility that the company will re-introduce the MR2 as an electrified, rear-drive sports car – which could still be a joint venture with Subaru, as Japanese Nostalgic Car theorizes. Whatever's in the pipeline – and we hope there is something in the pipeline – it seems Toyota's heart is in the right place: driving the rear wheels. Related Video:

2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross vs. small crossover SUVs: How they compare on paper

Fri, Feb 23 2018

In the midst of the crossover SUV boom, each traditional size segment has become saturated. As a result, automakers are beginning to fill the gaps that separate classes, giving us some interesting in-between options. The all-new 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross jumps right into one of those in-between categories bookended by compact and subcompact crossovers. It's a niche that offers more space and feature content than the smallest vehicles, with an extra dose of style and a lower price than bigger ones. Because of the Eclipse Cross' in-between nature, though, there's not really an obvious direct competitor. As such, we've selected a diverse group of small crossovers that are similar to the Eclipse Cross in some but not all key areas: size, price, feature content, style and likely buyers. The 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, 2018 Toyota C-HR and 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport each have elements in common, but are different enough to provide useful points of comparison. A chart of specifications and key standard features is shown below, followed by more in-depth analysis. And if you wish to compare these crossovers with others not listed, be sure to check out our comparison tools. Engines and Drivetrains One of the Eclipse Cross' biggest advantages in this segment will be its engine. Subcompact crossovers, including the other three we've chosen, are sluggish to say the least. This new Mitsubishi should be different as it packs a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that belts out a whopping 184 pound-feet of torque. We say whopping, because the C-HR, Crosstrek and Rogue Sport all have between 139 and 147 pound-feet. Horsepower is similarly unimpressive at just 152 horsepower - the same as the Crosstrek - but that torque should make passing and on-ramp runs much more satisfying. The appeal of crossovers for many people is the availability of all-wheel-drive, and this is where the Subaru gets an advantage. Like with all Subarus that aren't a BRZ, the Crosstrek has standard all-wheel drive. The Mitsubishi comes close, making all-wheel drive standard on every trim level except the very base ES trim level. On the Rogue Sport, all-wheel drive is an option on all trim levels. Depending on where you live, though, being able to have front drive on a high-trim crossover could be a plus because it will save some money and improve fuel economy. The C-HR loses this battle as it's only available with front-wheel drive.

Subaru readying special-edition BRZ

Fri, 14 Feb 2014

Another week coming to a close brings another rumor of a potential hotted-up version of the Subaru everyone wants to turbocharge, the BRZ.
A fresh rumor out of the Car and Driver offices makes the claim that a new, special-edition BRZ model will be offered up within the next few months. Word is that the new model will not get similar upgrades to the recent BRZ tS (seen above) for the Japanese market, meaning we're likely in for a cosmetic update instead of a functional one.
The looks of the tS could still be in the cards, however, meaning swapped-out lip spoiler, wheels and even STI badging might be on the way.
