2003 Subaru Forester X Wagon 4-door 2.5l on 2040-cars
Berea, Ohio, United States
Up for auction is our 2003 Subaru Forester. This has been a great vehicle, very reliable and in very good condition. It has been very well maintained through out its life and runs very well. AWD traction in the snow and bad weather is outstanding.
We purchased a new vehicle to replace this one and just do not need it anymore. If you are local to the Berea Ohio area or if you would like to have someone come out and look at it for you that is not a problem. Oil changes done every 2,500 miles since we have owned it, it was purchased through an estate of a very good friend of the family. It is very clean and very nice, it is not a rust bucket. I installed new headlights and tail lights in it last year, my wife does a lot of night driving and the originals were getting a bit hazy. It has new tires maybe 1,500 to 2,000 miles on them. New brakes in the front, new stabilizer links in the front also. I have new rears but the originals are still in good condition. I'm sure I can not remember what all I have done to the car in the last 3 years so I wont even try to list it. The car has just been well cared for. My wife is a sales rep and also 100% commision based, so if the car breaks down she makes no money. For that reason I have never waited for something to fail. It has 153,000 miles on it and runs very well, it is a beast in the snow, probably as good as my Range Rover, and thats saying a lot. This car if well cared for will last the new owner many many years. I actually though about keeping it because of the gas mileage over my Rover but it's a bit too small for what I do. If you have any questions feel free to get in touch with me. Thanks for looking at the listing. |

Auto Show Notebook: Legendary Continental name inspired Lincoln's designers
Thu, Apr 2 2015What's in a name? A lot for the Continental concept, and it gave Lincoln designers a sense of purpose as they styled the brand's upcoming flagship sedan. "The moment that we told them, it was amazing," Lincoln president Kumar Galhotra said. "They totally got it." "It" is cutting-edge technology wrapped in stately, large-sedan design. It's a nod to Lincoln's storied past, but a signpost for where the brand is heading. Though the Continental name dates to the late 1930s, Lincoln designers avoided making the concept overtly retro. "You can't let it pull yourself back too far in history, but you've got to design a car that lives up to the name," Galhotra said. Speaking to Autoblog on the floor of the New York Auto Show where the Continental formally debuted Wednesday, the Lincoln president reiterated that the car is on track to launch in 2016. It will compete against the Audi A6, Lexus GS, BMW 5 Series and other large luxury sedans. After its debut, the concept in New York will fly to China – another critical market for Lincoln – for display there. It will be replaced in New York by a prototype without an interior. The Continental is the latest high profile play by Lincoln to raise its image with consumers, who have either ignored or forgotten about it amid steep competition in the luxury sector from German and Japanese brands and a potentially resilient Cadillac. Lincoln sales are essentially flat compared with 2014 through the first quarter of this year, with total volume of 21,478 units. The middling start to 2015 comes on the heels of nearly 16-percent sales growth last year spurred by the launch of the MKC and the prominent signing of Matthew McConaughey to star in Lincoln advertisements. Other News, Notes & Quotes Speaking of names, Chevrolet did its homework before deciding to proceed with "Malibu" for its new generation of midsize cars. "We went out and researched it," said Alan Batey, president of General Motors North America. "People actually like the name 'Malibu,'" he said. Admittedly, the current Malibu has struggled in the marketplace against entrenched competitors, Batey said, but he's optimistic its awareness and historical value are assets to the dramatically redesigned sedan."The name's strong," he said. Meanwhile, in other Chevy news, the brand kicked off a new marketing campaign, "Real People, Not Actors" Wednesday. It will show consumers interacting with Chevys and their spontaneous reactions to the vehicles.

Subaru weighing Outback vs Forester approach for seven-seater
Tue, Mar 24 2015Subaru is gearing up for a return to the seven-seat crossover segment, and it's focusing the new model on the US market, but just which approach it will take has yet to be decided. One possibility, according to Automotive News, would be to position it as a larger counterpart to the Outback wagon, with rugged off-road styling. The other would be to sell it as a big brother to the Forester, with cleaner styling. One thing Subaru most definitely does not want to repeat is the Tribeca fiasco, so we wouldn't expect the new model to carry that same nameplate. Introduced in 2006, the Tribeca's divisive front-end styling kept it from being a serious player, and it underwent a facelift only two years later. It was withdrawn from the market altogether after 2014. The company had targeted moving 36,000 units of the Tribeca each year, but sold fewer than 2,800 in America in 2011, barely over 2,000 in 2012, less than 1,600 in 2013 and just a few hundred in 2014. The new seven-seat crossover will go after the likes of the Toyota Highlander, Nissan Pathfinder and new Honda Pilot among three-row Japanese crossovers. Like those rivals, it will be built in the US for the US market – namely at Subaru's assembly plant in Indiana, the same state where the Highlander is produced. The new crossover's arrival will, according to reports, mean that the Levorg wagon offered in Japan and Europe won't be offered Stateside. Related Video:
