I am selling my blue 2006 Subaru Baja, the last year of these unique little vehicles. Automatic, 2.5l. Non smoker.  Has been garage kept since I have owned it the past 2.5 years. It has been a terrific car. Mechanically the car is in great condition, runs great, cold air, etc. The interior is in very good condition. There are a few scratches in the paint, but nothing too major (see photos).  Car has approx. 121,000 miles, I'm still driving it on occasion so that continues to rise. It has been the perfect mix of utility / efficiency. As you can see in the photos, the bed with the tailgate down is big enough to hold a full size dirt bike or sport bike and is perfect for bicycles. I have gotten 30+mph on long highway trips and average 24-25 mpg with mixed daily driving. Car is basically stock, with the only modifications being a cold air intake and tinted windows. Also currently has a $220+ dollar yellowtop Optima battery, which should be reliable for at least another decade. I put these batteries in all my cars, they're great and last forever.  Additional features include a trailer hitch and sunroof.

KBB puts the car at $10,984 in good condition, so I will start there. Feel free to make (reasonable) offers. These cars are very sought after so it likely won't last long.

I will try to get more photos up later, this is all I have at the time. I live in Keller, TX and work in Lewisville, TX, so I could easily meet in either of those places or anywhere in between.

2015 Subaru WRX leaks out ahead of debut [w/video]

Tue, 12 Nov 2013

The car you see above could, possibly, be the 2015 Subaru WRX, a car that isn't supposed to reach the public eye until next week's Los Angeles Auto Show. The leaked image has been circulating around the web, along with a brief teaser video of the new sports sedan (which you can see below).
The image, which AutoWeek reports may be (probably) a render, appeared on the Clubrz Facebook page, a Subaru fan group. It does fit somewhat with the teaser image we showed you yesterday, while featuring certain styling cues from the WRX Concept shown at the last New York Auto Show.
Now, we'd advise you take this with an appropriately sized grain of salt. We won't know for certain what the next WRX looks like until we're parked in an uncomfortable chair at the LA Convention Center. Still, take a look up top and let us know if the new WRX - which, we'll point out, has neither gold wheels, a big wing or World Rally Blue paint - fits with what you wanted to see. We've also got a very short teaser of the car that plays on the teaser image posted yesterday, which you can see by scrolling down.

2013 Subaru WRX STI Special Edition

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

Despite my best efforts to convince myself otherwise, I think I'm finally getting too old for this car. I remember the days when I would go ga-ga over the winged Subaru WRX STI sedan, my inner boy racer caring only about its turbo thrills and not taking into account things like price, packaging or interior quality/comfort. Even now, as someone who generally appreciates offbeat color choices, I'm having a hard time getting behind the Tangerine Orange paint of this Special Edition tester, a unique version of the STI sedan limited to just 100 cars. (West Coast Editor Michael Harley recently spent time in the Special Edition WRX sedan, which will see a production run of 200 units.)
To give it The Full Halloween, this limited-edition Subie comes with black accents on its mirrors and fender badges, not to mention black alloy wheels and special graphics on the rocker panels. Special Edition cars also come standard with foglights, and there are orange accents found throughout the interior. All in, this flashier Subaru will set you back $34,795 plus $700 for destination, or $500 more than the standard version.
No, $35,000 isn't chump change, and many will argue that there are far better vehicles to be had at that exact same price point. And while my aging brain is beginning to think more toward that side of the rational thought spectrum, there's still a lot about this car that makes my more youthful self endlessly happy.

Upcoming Subaru WRX STI rumored to get hybrid drivetrain

Tue, Dec 8 2015

Subaru might electrify the next-gen WRX STI. According to a rumor from Motoring in Australia citing an unnamed Subie insider, the brand's engineers reportedly have two hybrid systems under development for the future model. The move would allow the STI to boost power output and improve fuel economy and lower emissions to keep up with US regulations. According to Motoring's speculation, the next STI might use an electric motor at the back to power the rear axle and an upgraded version of the FA20 turbocharged 2.0-liter at the front. A new dual-clutch six-speed gearbox would help the power get to the road, and the total system could allegedly offer around 322 horsepower versus 305 hp from the current US model. This rumor also claims the next-gen STI would continue as a sedan when it arrives in 2017. Like previous iterations, the four-door will share underpinnings with the Impreza, which will mean a move to Subaru's new modular platform. The standard hybrid might only be the beginning of electrification for the future STI. Motoring's source also claims the company has a plug-in hybrid variant under development, but it might not debut until the 2018 Tokyo Motor Show. A hybrid STI could be exciting, but until there are solid facts, this rumor joins a long history of powertrain speculation about the high-performance Subaru. In 2008 and 2010, reports emerged about a diesel version, but it never appeared. We once even heard that the current-gen WRX might boast an electric turbo.
