Reviews:

I was in a very minor accident on a Friday afternoon, and was talked into having my car towed to X-L body shop. The man seemed very friendly, but I found out later it was all a scam. My car sat at the shop until the next Friday while I waited for the claims adjuster to come out and look at it, and when I saw sat...I mean they did nothing to it. It literally sat out, they did not even pull it apart. When I dropped... view more my car off they had me sign a form that I looked over, there was nothing mentioned about charges or fees, just statements that they were not liable for theft. When my husband went to pick up my car a week later, we were suddenly slammed with outrageous fees. They expected us to pay $900 to have my car sit there! The fees included a towing fee, and an administrative fee that we were being charged because (and this is a quote directly from Harvey the owner) "someone has to push the papers around". My husband demanded to see the form that I had signed and Harvey refused to show it to him. After some yelling, mostly on Harvey`s part, the form was finally given to my husband, but it was a copy and obviously not what I had signed. My husband took a picture of the form in question and sent it to me after which I told him it was in fact, not what I had signed. Harvey refused to talk to me when I was on the phone with my husband, so I was forced to call the shop directly. Harvey yelled at me over the phone, used words that a professional should not use to a customer and eventually hung up on me. He threatened to call the police and have keep my car unless we paid the fees. On top of all of this my phone number was given to some personal injury lawyer who called me several times a day for several days, insisting that I go to a doctor and get therapy from the "injuries" that he thought I would sustain. In the end, I would never use this shop. They are scam artists who simply want to get as much money out of you and insurance companies as they can. In my opinion, Harvey is a terrible person that should be reported to the BBB and have his business shut down. I only wish that I could give you a zero star rating, because that is what you deserve. Shame on you Harvey for taking advantage of people in terrible situations.

Unlike other reviews that I have read about XL Paint/Body Inc, I found that the work they performed on our Chev Malibu was top knotch! They even left the pile of coins that was left in the door pull, without a single one missing! Harvey and his staff were very professional and courteous, and even when I came by a week before it was ready, took the time to show me the work that was to be done. I would have no hesit... view moreation to recommend this facility to anyone in need of auto body work.

Same story here tow truck driv...
Same story here tow truck driver took my son`s car to X L paint and body and gave him a rental car on a Friday evening (he was involved in a minor accident). I went Saturday to take car somewhere else for repairs the shop was closed. I did not go work Monday morning was at their door at 8 a.m. to return rental car and to let them know my son was going to have repairs done elsewhere. Harvey said my son had to sign the... view more car out because he signed it in (his name is not on title or insurance). So, I left and agreed to meet my son back at XL to get car released during his lunch break. My son came during his 30 min. lunch signed release form and returned to work. I asked the guy Harvey what fees were so, I can go ahead and pay. He showed me the invoice and I asked why it was so much he explained all these different fees. They took car apart knowing that I was taking it somewhere else for repairs and charged me a tear down fee. Oh and they wouldn`t take the rental car back I had to go deliver it to Hertz rental off 45/1960. These people are THIEVES I do not recommend them to anybody. Take your car to your dealer they will not work on your car unless they have the go ahead. They deserve no stars at all they take advantage of peoples misfortunes. Dealing with them is a nightmare they don`t care about the client they only car about sticking it to the insurance company. My son told the tow truck driver to take it else where but he somehow encouraged him to take it to XL. Big mistake we are the policy holders we have the right to decide who can put their their hands on our vehicles. I`ve dealt with Bill Heard, Champions Forest Collision and another dealer and never had these issues with them. Warn your friends and family about their bad business ethics.

I was in a serious accident wi...
I was in a serious accident with a very young driver late on a Sunday night. Fortunately, we both walked away without any injuries. I was not at fault-the other driver admitted fault and was ticketed. After the time, a tow truck driver informed me that he could get me a rental car if I had the car towed to a certain shop. I agreed, never intending to have this shop work on my car. I knew not to sign anything releas... view moreing him to work on my car. Upon arriving to the shop, Harvey (the owner?) showed up to rent me the car. He also handed me a blank form and asked me to fill out the top and sign the bottom and stated that it was for the towing fees. I did as told and handed him the form back. I was not thinking clearly since I was just in a bad accident and was distraught and distracted. He never gave me a copy of the form. I went to release my car a few days later and got a bill for $571 to tow less than 10 miles, $150 storage fee for 3 days, $250 teardown fee, $350 administrative fee and some other misc. fees. I requested a copy of the form to see where I authorized him to tear down the car. Come to find out, he took the form I signed for towing fees and put ?ˆ?repair as per insurance estimate?ˆ™. He took advantage of me knowing that I was in a compromised state. He also stole my ipod and some designer sunglasses out of my car before I had it transferred out. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. They are dishonest crooks!!!
