They lied
They used to be real good back when Bob was there. Bob always made us a good deal and took great care of us. Well, he transferred to a different store last summer and boy did we tell the difference this last week! I took my car in because I knew the brake pads were worn down to the metal. I had called Lambs the week before to ask approximately how much it would cost to have brake pads replaced. The guy told me it wo... view moreuld run between $190 to $220. So, I saved up the money and took it in.
The guy looked at it and did an estimate and called me to say that it would cost $600 to replace the pads on all 4 tires and said that the rotors on the back tires were ruined and needed replaced. We don`t have the money for that so I told him thank you and that I would have to wait to get it done. He tried to make me feel afraid to drive it until he could at least fix the rear brake pads and rotors so that the car would be ""road worthy"". I just took my car and left. Well, my brother-in-law came to visit this weekend. He was going to do the brakes for us (he`s a former mechanic). He just got a look at the rear rotors and showed me. They looked new! There was nothing wrong with them at all. Our theory is that because I am a woman, this guy was taking total advantage of me. We are no longer Lambs customers. Never again!

Did not do work I paid for!
A couple of years ago I paid Lambs $136 to replace the in-cabin air filter on my Honda Pilot. Recently took it to another place for the same service ($87) and the mechanic stated that it was a ""first time"" change. Apparently on Pilots you have to cut out a plastic panel the first time you change this filter and it had never been done!
I used to take it to Lambs for cheap oil changes and inspections but never ag... view moreain. They always ""find"" some other expensive thing they say needs to be fixed but really doesn`t. They said the CV boot was leaking. I took it directly to the dealer and they said nope, it was fine. That was 45,000 miles ago and still no problem.
Also said radiator hoses were brittle and needed to be replaced - totally made up. No problem at all. I heard they get paid on commission! Friendly and smile alot but not honest at all!!

What a Disaster!
These comedians installed a $350 tire (asymmetrical tread) on my car inside out. On retuning to the shop to rectify the error they somehow proceeded to scratch the hell out of my alloy wheel. I would have had better luck in the Third World.

Scam Artists
I brought my car in for an inspection. I drive a Saab Convertible. After 20 minutes of them inspecting the car I noticed the technician leaning over and pulling on some hoses. I wondered what was taking so long since I had just had the car serviced at my dealer and all was in good working order.
The manager called me to his desk and informed that there was a hole in my pressure hose. Not only did this seem ... view moreimprobable, but then the manager noted that if I wanted to get it fixes he had already called for parts and that it was $200+ dollars.
I left, paid the inspection fee and took it to Saab. Knowing that a ""pinhole leak"" in a pressure hose is not possible since the pressure would quickly burst the hose if there was a leak. Saab checked the connections for the pressure hose, said it was fine, and I took it to another inspection facility. It passed. It infuriates me that during very difficult economic times, this shop has no conscience in taking advantage of what they thought would be, ""an unsuspecting female"".
Stay away from this place if you like to keep money in your wallet!!!

will be back
I think the address changed. I have gone to a couple of Lamb`s, little stuff like oil changes and big stuff like tires. With the tires, they match prices so I got a good deal, and I know they are going toinstall them correctly - I have gone to anothe rplace - not a lamb`s before - and most shops don`t align the tires so you may have a great tire for cheap but you wear through it fast - lamb`s got my tires aligned a... view morend I have had very little wear for as much as I have driven them. Oil changes, cheap for twenty bucks so I keep coming back

Stay Clear of This Shop
Here is my review, I`m a woman and I have an engine problem. I drove from Austin to Rockdale not knowing my engine was making a noise. When I got to Rockdale I heard the weird sound. So I called Lambs was told not to drive it. I had it towed from Rockdale to Lambs they checked the car told me it was a lifter not getting oil so I told them to fix it. well that cost about 800.00`s then when I got it home and a day late... view morer my car was making a noise and my battery light was on. So I took the car to lambs again towed a second time and they checked it out. They did another oil change with a cleaner and said the voltage regulator was bad on the alternator so, I needed a new alternator. My concern is if the engine is bad no sense on buying an alternator. Well,I told them just do the oil change they did with the first 800.00 job. Asked why a second oil change they used a cleaner. The second oil chane cost 92.00`s. I said no to the Alternator. My husband looked at my car and said they left the battery cable loose to wear it the alternator wasn`t charing and my huband well he replaced my alternator and now my engine is back making a loud noise again. So they didn`t fix the problem and I still need it fixed.

RIP OFF REPAIR SHOP!!!
We were en route to another auto repair shop when my car ""died"" near Lamb`s Automotive in Bee Cave. We were overcharged for the repair, then insulted with more suggestive selling for work that should be done (again, overpriced), but refused. Over the past 4 years of living in Barton Creek, I`ve been warned many times about Lamb`s price gouging, but went out of desperation. Never again. If Lamb`s charged fair pr... view moreices, they would earn for more profit with a higher volume of business from our community. No question.

Still no word from Lamb`s about my HORRIBLE experience!
It has been 3 days since THE INCIDENT and i`m finding more and more people have had horrible experiences with Lamb`s. One friend took his car in because it was shaking and Lamb`s quoted him $3000 for a new transmission. Not being a mechanic but actually having a brain he told Lamb`s to put the car back together so he could have it towed to someone else. Lamb`s who supposedly has a FREE estimate program tried to... view more charge him $65 to put everything back in place!! The guy actually tried to GUILT him into paying by saying his mechanic wouldn`t get paid if he didn`t pay (amazing!!!!!). Turns out the next place charged him $150 to replace a joint of some sort (UV?)....Nothing to do with a transmission.
