Worst service

Purchased a lease car from Covert. Soon after the transmission started having problems shifting. I took it to Covert service, they say they tested it and downloaded new software so now it is OK. On the way home same issue. the car hits 3500rpm just to leave a stop sign. and it moves very slowly. I took the car back 2 more times and was told that the transmission passed all tests. Stay Away!

If yoy are buying from them, stay away from any imports, no knowledge whatsoever about what they are selling and they tell you that they send the car to an outside service center to have the car checked prior to selling. Sure, explain to me how come I have to install a new 1500 ac compressor in less than a week of owning my car.

Used Car

Purchased a used trade in from covert few weeks back.. Drove it off the lot and that same day the transmission blew out. Covert came and picked up the car and had it fixed in a week and half no charge to me.. That is why we go to American motors for used or new cars, They stand by there products. Ask for Tim Elliot for used cars.. Great friendly guy that make this all happen for me. Thanks Tim.

Great Customer Service

Great customer service...My husband and I were looking for a new truck. We had been to several other dealerships in town and really had gotten the run around. We decided to check on online late one evening and received a call the next morning. Jackie was great she listened to what we were looiking for and never once tried to push a lesser truck on us. You`ll be Sorry if you buy a vehicle here !!!

Last week the O/D light came on in my Ford Explorer. I drove it right home
and got the manual out to see what the problem was. ""Transmission problem""
was what the manual indicated, as well as several websites I reviewed.

I didn`t worry at first, since I figured this would be covered under
warranty. My Explorer is just under 5 years old and just under 60K miles.
Surely there would at least be ... view morea 60K power train warranty. No one would buy
a vehicle if they knew the transmission would only last 59K miles.

Well, the Covert Ford told me a new tranmission was needed (5th and 2nd gears
were worn down), that it would cost $3500, and that it is not covered by
warranty. And to add insult to injury he charged me $90 to tell me the
transmission was bad (something I obviously knew) - isn`t this similar to
stealing?

Obviously I was quite irritated. I asked what caused this. None of the
possibilities applied since I took good care of the vehicle and had it
serviced according to the maintenance manual. In fact, the dealer (Covert
Ford in Austin) did the 30K checkup. I spent $1K on that (and probably got
ripped off).

I took it to a transmission specialist and had it fixed for under $2500. He
informed me that he sees a lot of issus like this with Explorers - probably
a poor design and poor quality. Also, judging by various websites there are
indeed lots of complains like this.

I talked with Kenny Covert (probably the worst customer service skills I`ve ever dealt with) and was very patient and professional in my request to see if he could do anything. He got back to me right away that he was interested in helping - but then he would never get back to me. I kept sending emails, but no response. He was only interested in making a buck on the next poor quality vehicle that he was going to sell. Not interested in assisting previous customers.

Take your business elsewhere!

Stay away - horrible sales and service!! I went there for service and oil changes for three years and always dealt with chauvinist service advisors who had no problem lying or trying to blame me for their poor service! When it came time to get a new car, I tried for a week by calling and internet requests to get information from their sales department, but they would always say they would ""run some numbers"" and c... view moreall me back, but no one ever did!
