Is the third time a charm at MAACO 3560 Old Spanish Trail?
RE: COMPLAINT CONCERNING MAACO 3560 OLD SPANISH TRAIL HOUSTON TX ALI KHAN Sales To MAACO Corporate Management: I had high hopes when I took my car in for service at 3560 Old Spanish Trail Houston TX. The sales agent, Ali Khan, appeared to be interested in doing a good job on my car. In fact, he told me that the body work and paint would be completed within a week. I even left the car at the repair center when ... view moreI received the estimate on Feb. 27, 2010. Three weeks elapsed before the car was finally ready and, even then, it actually wasn`t ready. I picked up my car at the end of the third week. What became apparent immediately is that Mr. Khan had not certified that the work on the car was completed satisfactorily -nor did he appear to care. If he had he would have checked the entire car before I picked it up. At great inconvenience to me I had to return the car to Ali Khan to have the hood and door repainted after haggling with him about when he would correct the errors his crew made the first time. I also discovered the body work on the back just under the rear window was very poorly done. Once again Mr. Khan had not certified that the work on the car was completed satisfactorily. For this omission, he attempted to blame me. Mr. Khan`s communication skills may seem adequate because he is at first polite, at least until he is questioned about anything. His refrains to me were comments like, ""Why didn`t you ask...?"" and ""Why didn`t you check..?"" Mr. Khan does not grasp the relationship between sales agent and customer. His job is to give the customer as much information as needed. For example, today he said MAACO would have picked me up so that I could get my car from their shop. He said I didn`t inquire about this service. Why would I? Running a chauffeur service is not a service I would expect, especially since the work in the shop needs much more time and attention. As an agent of MAACO he is responsible for checking the work of his employees, supervising security, and giving customers essential information without them having to ask for it. Mr. Khan never bothered to tell me he had to ask corporate for permission to do the work he failed to do correctly the first time on the back of the car. Today I found out about the need for corporate permission after making two phone calls to him. Obtaining necessary information from him is far more difficult than is tolerable. I have other concerns about MAACO at 3560 Old Spanish Trail. When I drove the car off the lot on March 17, 2010, I discovered all my glove compartment belongings were scattered in the car. None of the work required the crew to go in my glove compartment. It was quite obvious the workmen were looking for something to steal. Mr. Khan was quick to tell me MAACO at 3560 Old Spanish Trail was under new management. I had my car painted at this shop in 2007. I found his ""new"" management to be several steps below what I experienced in 2007. The quality of workmanship was much better in 2007. Bottom line: The poor body work on the back of my car on the driver`s side must be corrected immediately as it is included in the work-up papers signed on Feb. 27, 2010 and paid for on March 17, 2010. I have been a customer of MAACO`s since the late 1990s - I have all the sales tickets to prove it. I know that MAACO is capable of much better service than Ali Khan is providing. Mr. Khan never tried to up sale, either, by offering any additional enhancements or even describing higher levels of paint service for my automobile. This lack of salesmanship is a problem for MAACO and customers who may want to do more. I am waiting for a date & time to return my car for the 3rd time to 3560 Old Spanish Trail to get one job done right.
