July 2013: The original owner, Larry, is back! And Cottman is better for it! If you`ve not been satisfied with their work over the past year, or are looking to work with a shop that has "your back" and has the utmost integrity all at fair pricing, I urge you to consider this Cottman shop. Read on if you want more details on my example: We`d gone to this Cottman shop for most of your car repair wo... view morerk (not just transmission work) for a few years and been very happy with the quality of work and parts. Last year I needed new synchros and bearings for the manual transmission on my truck, so went to Cottman and was surprised to see a new owner. We had them do the work. Then after some shifting difficulties, I took the truck back one month after the warranty was up, and the new owner wanted to replace the synchros and bearing again. and charge me full price. and didn`t care about finding our why my last set lasted less than a year. So I left dissatisfied and went in search of a new shop. After visiting other shops to get the root cause diagnosed, I decided to return to Cottman (July) once more to press my case and found Larry the original owner was back! He was committed to make things right, even though the work was not done under his watch, and he honored the warranty. I`ve had the truck back for a week now and it shift smoother than I ever remember! We`ll definitely return to Larry`s shop for all our car repair needs and confidently recommend him to friends!

Definitely Stop & Go.

I`ve been there a couple of times now. My first time they did a great job and I never had another problem with that car and drove it for at least a couple of more years before I sold it.

Great service, very fair pricing

I just found out about this review site, wish I knew earlier. I took my wife`s truck to Cottman about a year ago. The clutch on her 95 Toyota Tacoma was on it`s last leg, and I spent the day calling around to see how much everyone was charging to do this. Most shops wanted anywhere from $800 - $1100 for a clutch, the most expensive being the local dealership. Cottman`s response of ""five and a quarter"" for the price... view more surprised me. So I took it there, they charged what they said they would, and the problem was fixed. One year later her clutch is still working great, no problems. I wouldn`t hesitate for a second to take another vehicle there, keep up the good work Cottman staff!
