UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES!?! Buyer
UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES!?! Buyer beware...
Bought a used car in February. When I bought the car, he made a commitment that if there were any issues "" Engine Light"" or ""a thingy"" with the car, to bring it back and he would make it right/fix it.
The engine light came on after driving it for three days so we returned the car to be repaired. They said they fixed it and returned it to me. This went on for a f... view moreew weeks of bringing the car in because each time they gave it back there was still something wrong with it. I had to constantly call and check up because they where not returning calls promptly or following through with commitments.
Turns out the head was warped and it would be $1,000.00 repair they asked me to return the car and wanted to put me into something else to ""make it right"".
We went to the dealership on a Sunday and the Salesman was 1.5 hour late to our meeting time. We went back and forth on a few cars that cost over 2 times as much as my original purchase price and the whole time they keep trying to tell me how much they were helping me out by getting me into car that I couldn`t afford after a while I thought we where about to make a deal even though it was for a lot more money, I just wanted to get the thing over and move forward. When my father in law asked if we could have a couple days to check if we where legally doing the rite thing, let`s just say they did not like that and said they had no obligation to help us, that we needed to take the original car home and that they would not be repairing the car. We where on our own.
I would never do business the way they did and am very sad and disappointed in this whole experience. It was my first time buying a car and I was so excited, but now I just feel like I got RIPPED off.

Corporate Evil
I can say I was lucky compared to the guy before me! Never buy a car from the Carr Auto Group!!! The salesman that helped me at first was alright, but that`s the only good thing I can say. I walked out of finance because I`ve never been offended and it had nothing to do with my finances. I was racially profiled by the finance guy before I even started talking about the price of the car. The guy couldn`t stop doubting... view more me. I have never felt so belittled in my life! The guy asked me if I was of a certain race before even talking to me....oh and he asked me twice. My response was, ""does it matter?"" He kind of sneered, but it was all downhill from there. The funny thing is that I wasn`t even the nationality he thought I was. I suggest going to Wentworth which is family owned and not a nasty corporation that would hire a swine! In talking with a co-worker, she had a horrible experience also and ended up paying a lot more than MSRP! She even paid in cash! Needless to say I went to Wentworth and ended paying less than I expected. They are a lot more knowledgeable and courteous! They found exactly what I wanted and more!

Fraud, anyone?
I bought a car last winter at Carr, a sport little Subaru I was so excited to get, it was only my second car ever and I felt I had done my homework and covered all my bases. I even bought GAP insurance so if something ever happend to my car, it was garunteed that my loan would be fully covered. Well three short weeks later that all wheel drive subaru spun out at 35 mph on a dry road. uuummmm.... needless to say, ... view morei think there was something very wrong with that car, though I couldn`t get Geico to investigate. I though everything would be ok though since i had my GAP insurance. When I tried to collect on my insurance, I found out it was fraudulant. The only way I ever could have collected on it would be if I defaulted on my loan, raising the balance with interest and late fees. The dealership told me I was covered right away, but any normal person following their loan payment plan could not collect on this unless they has been grossly overcharged for the vehicle (they only pay if you owe more than the value of your car). After three months of calls and visits to Carr with no attempt on their part to resolve it, I filed a complete with the bureau that handles bussiness complaints (citysearch won`t allow me to type their name). Smartest thing I ever did! The manager called the next day and cut me a check for my loss. I guess one could argue that this is service, but I feel it`s their reputation they cared about.
