Great Service

I agree in saying that the one star review gives this place a bad wrap. I had my belt and water pump break down at night after all other repair shops were closed. I had purchased a belt but did not yet know I needed a water pump. They didn?ˆ™t have the part in stock so one of the workers drove to a place to pick it up. I got my car fixed and running that night. The staff was very friendly and honest in their pricing; t... view morehey didn?ˆ™t even charge me for the belt replacement because they would have had to move it to fix the pump anyhow. I highly recommend this location and plan to come back if I should need future repairs.

Quick, Cheap Garage

I don`t ever write on these sites, but I think this place is getting a bad rap. I came across this place years ago when I got a flat a block away. The guys there have always been friendly and helpful. I know enough about cars to usually know what`s wrong, but don`t have the time or the room to work on them. These guys will get you running quick and without upselling you on more things they feel should be fixed. ... view more If I want new brake pads, they`ll change my brake pads and have my car back that day. They`re not going to automatically replace my rotors, calipers and try charging me $500+ when it`s not necessary. I trust these guys. It should be noted that this is primarily a taxi mechanic, (no, I don`t have a cab)... so they`re open nearly 24 hours a day. This is not like bringing it to a fancy dealer. This is a bunch of guys hanging out in a greasy garage fixing cars. It`s cheap and quick. I`ve brought a range of cars there for years, both new and old. They always been nice and I`ve always been very happy with their work.

Horrible place

Be prepared for your car to be obused, the wrong and old parts to be installed, for a top money you pay. Oh, terrible costumer service too.

Horrible Customer Service

The staff at Halsted Auto was extremely rude and their customer service was horrible. They consistently passed me off from one mechanic to the other. No one wanted to take responsibility for having looked at my car. I would never recommend anyone go there to service their car.
