Terrible service from the serv...

Terrible service from the service center! I agree completely with the review from libtech75. I purchased a pre-owned Mercedes from Hoffman Estates dealership and within 2 months the tire pressure monitor was flashing. At my service appointment I did not ask for a courtesy car because they said this was a common quick fix so they just gave me a ride home. However, they spent 5 hours "diagnosing" the... view more car and emailed that I needed over $1,200 at my cost in maintenance on the car I just purchased from them 2 months earlier! I told him no thanks on the $1,200 and said just fix what I came in for which is the tire pressure monitor under warranty. They kept my car for 4 more hours which I think was to deter me from comming back for under warranty service. Now it is 8 months since I purchased the vehicle from Hoffman Estates Mercedes Benz and tire pressure monitor is still flashing. Jason said he would not even look at my car unless I paid $139 for them to check it. I also asked them examine and estimate a re-repair to a rip in my leather seat. Tthey would not look at it unless I paid $139! Jason would not look at my car for an estimate of repair without me paying $139 first!! I told them to give my my keys and I was leaving. A tech brought my car in the back, which I did not authorize, while I was waiting to complain to a manager. PURCHASE YOUR BENZ ELSEWHERE. My recommendation is do not purchase a car from this dealership due to my experience.

On the way home from picking up my vehicle at this dealership, I detected a faint scent of coolant. I checked the vehicle and could not see anything on my own, so I decided immediately upon arriving home I would have the vehicle inspected. I had the vehicle looked at and it was obvious there was a problem. The cost of repair would be close to $2000.00! He went on to tell me that it was apparent that the coolant leak had existed for a long time. This disturbed me because I specifically asked Vipul whether there were any coolant leaks and he said no. I also asked whether the car was thoroughly checked and inspected by the dealer in which he said yes. That was obviously a lie. The car was never inspected otherwise they would have noticed this leak. I informed the dealer about this and thought in light of what appeared to be previously good customer service, something this obvious and apparent would not be an issue. Immediately Vipul tried to distance himself and after a couple days informed me they would do nothing. This is the type standardized used car sales horror story I had always heard about, but thought was long gone - especially in relation to a big time dealership like Mercedes Benz of Hoffman estates. They never asked me for anything, but simply told me they would not cover or assist in anyway for a pre-existing condition that obviously was present well before I purchased this car. I would strongly recommend against buying any used car of any kind at this dealership and from believing or relying on any statements they may make about the condition of the vehicle. Despite what people may think, there are plenty of honest dealerships around that will actually standby the cars they sell. These guys certainly aren`t one of them!!
