Okay I`ll Admit it They`re Good

Gone there three times now and have drove away happy every time. It`s true that they don`t take appointments, but I just drop my car off and go visit the museum or something. When all is said and done they have always saved me money compared to the estimates of other places, even when I include the price of lunch and admission to some tourist attraction.

best place ever! period!

JohnTheMufflerMan is my favorite place for Car Repairs. One time my power steering belt broke and had to have it fix during a snow fall. I had the option of going to the car shop a few blocks away from me in N Farwell, but decided to drive all the way to JohnTheMufflerMan since I trust them. aftermarket muffler & tip

I called some shops about putting on a aftermarket muffler and tip. I have 2010 corolla and some places were telling me i`m crazy for changing it out with only 1600 miles. It`s my car and i do whatever the hell i want. So i looked up a few places and john had some good reviews. Truly Impressive

On the lift within 5 minutes. Showed me the problem. Gave me a quick quote. Able to do the work immediately. Did only the needed repairs. Final bill just under quote. I was skeptical based on the location, the name, and that with so many good reviews it sounded like they might be writing their own. However, I left a believer. I would recommend this shop to anyone.

Top Notch

I was kinda skeptical seeing all the high reviews for this place, but like everyone else, I was extremely pleased with the job they did. Went in here with a broken exhaust pipe. Another shop had told me everything in my exhaust system needed to be replaced and it would cost nearly 500 bucks. I came in here, 30 minutes later my car was on the lift, and within 25 minutes they had replaced the small piece of exhaust ... view morepipe that was broken. Total cost 50 bucks. Needless to say I was happy to save $450, and was happy that they showed me exactly what was broken, told me how much it would cost, and then did just what they said they would. I would definitely use this place again and recommend it to anyone.

High quality, great price, fast service, awesome value

First off the place is not in the best of neiborhoods, however it is safe enough for me and for the work they do and rates they charge I am willing to risk it. That brings me to just what I think of them. They are not a certified mechanic shop but the work they do is fast and good, and they do not charge what a certified shop would charge. In fact for the speed and quallity of the work they are seriously under charging for their work. I paid half of what Midas wanted to charge me for the same thing plus when it was all said and done I feel more confident in the work done at John the Muffler Man`s shop.

They had almost every muffler part in stock you could ever need, they do not mess around and try to sell you misc stuff you do not need, they are honest and reliable and you can tell just by going there that this is a philosophy they have, that treating people with fairness is fundemental to their business.

I will take all my business there from now on, if John can do it it will be done there. They do more than just mufflers, they do brakes, oil changes, suspensions etc. I am no auto expert and in fact far from it. What I know about cars fits in a matchbook, but I know honesty integrity and quality workmanship and I sure know a good deal when I see one. That is what you get here. Plus it is local, not a chain so you are supporting a local business with roots in the neiborhood.

On a scale from 1 -10 this is what i would give them
speed 9 (things get hectic and sometimes this slows it all down)
price 9 (only free would qualify for a 10 here)
quality 9 (It fixed ALL the problems I brought it in for and then some)
value 10 (you will not find this level of service for less anywhere else)

Great Customer Service, Very Courteous Staff

I needed a exhaust system on my 11 year old truck and just didn`t want to do it myself as I did in the past. So, I shopped around for prices and found ""John the Muffler Man"" shop had the best prices. I figured I`d try them out....they gave me a free estimate, showed me what was rusted out and how much it would cost to fix. (which was very reasonable compared to other shops). First rate shop

Having been a mechanic for a number of years, I appreciated this shop. They are doing it right here, the shop is well organized and the staff is obliging and efficient, not a prima donna in sight !
I had problems at another shop (yes, it happens to mechanics too !) and John straightened out the problems while I waited, very reasonable price too.
I cannot recommend this shop more highly.

Best, fastest, cheapest

They have the best, fastest, and cheapest exhaust repair that I have found in the city. They quoted me a price over the phone. I drove in with no appointment and they replaced everything behind the catalytic converter in about 20 minutes.
