BUYERS BEWARE!!!!

Don`t be fooled by the flashy cars! There are hidden blemishes in each one... Inspect your car with a close eye before you buy it. We just recently purchased a 2010 vehicle and it had numerous dents, scratches and chips in our car. Our agreement to buying the car with Tim was that these things would be repaired, which is why we agreed to buy the car. Tim, the manager will tell you he will fix the car, and he`s been ... view more"doing this" for 23 years, but when the car comes back from "the shop" unfixed to the written agreement Tim becomes irate, unprofessional, argues, raises his voice and then walks away from the situation like a little kid. But he doesn`t care because he got his check already. He does not follow through on his word. I will never buy a car from there again. I advise you to do the same.

Scott went above and beyond to find just the car I wanted... and then he went one year newer, 20,000 miles less than I asked for and stayed in our budget. He went the extra mile to install a remote start and get the car waxed at no extra fee. Quinn was patient with us "old folks" explaining all the new electronics built in and helping us. I`ll go back to Goben Middleton for my next trade in.

I had just been in a recent accident this summer coming home from work. My car was totaled in the crash. Goben Cars had really great prices for Ford Fusions the day I went to pick out the car of my choice. I wanted a safe car, because I know I`ll be nervous driving back to college this fall. Lifetime customer

My parents had been driving this nasty old suburban around for years. Buying a car is like THE scariest thing for them!! They had been looking at various places but just couldn`t find the perfect car or a good trade in price for their suburban. When they stopped at Goben they met with Quinn, he took such great care of them. He spent a lot if time with them and was never the least bit pushy. They have terrible customer service. When I got there I told the salesman my price range knowing that they had a few cars in my price range I asked him about the car that I saw online and he wouldn`t show it to me. He kept saying that I wouldn`t want that car. Then he told me to another car that was nice. I test drove the car and everything. I told him that I was very interested in the car but I need to talk to my da... view mored about it first. He started to get angry. He said "Why do you have to talk to your dad? If I give you the carfax that is all you need." I told him I need to talk to my dad. After talking with my dad and doing some research on the car (because wasnt a car I was planning on test riding I don`t know much about it) I decided to not get the car. The salesman called me and when I told him that I was no longer interested in the car he yelled at me, he told me that I was irresponsible for telling him I was interested in a car and don`t buy it, he was yelling at me over the phone for about 5 minutes before he hang up.

They are incredibly rude and unprofessional. I`m not going into details but I`ve never delt with such an unprofessional business.I see the only good review in here sounds like a commercial for the company, obviously written by an employee of goben. It sounds like a sales pitch. There are so many better car dealerships to do business with. I wouldn`t give them any star at all, but that isn`t an option.

From my Yelp review. If anything, I`ve downplayed how nuts this experience was. Unbelievable experience at Goben. Met with Bryan on 11/21 to test drive several cars on the lot. Finally had a new car picked out, but needed to have my wife drive it as it was going to be her car. Everything looked OK, but we weren`t happy with the financing. They attempted to get us to purchase at an outrageous interest rate. Up ... view moreto that point, everything had been going smoothly. My wife and I took a couple minutes to discuss the situation outside, then decided that the deal was not going to happen. When we told the sales person, the sales manager, Tim, went off the deep end. He began to get agitated and yell, "So the deal is off? Is the deal off?" Then things began to get really ugly. I can`t even begin to describe how crazy the scene was. We walked out of the dealership and Tim FOLLOWED us to our car, screaming profanities the entire time. Every other word was the F word and used several anti-gay slurs. He topped it off by flipping us off as we drove out of the parking lot. Tim basically went insane the moment we determined we didn`t want to make a purchase there. Needless to say, I was very entertained by my shopping experience at Goben East. Thankfully, I did not purchase a vehicle at this dealership. Tim is probably the dirtiest car salesperson in Madison. I guess he is not used to people saying no to shady car deals.

I have a hard time believing these negative reviews. I suspect some may be from the competition and perhaps others from unreasonable customers? I have had nothing but the best experience from Goben Cars. I typically go through several cars each year or so and now buy all of them through Goben. I am a bargain hunter and they consistently have the best prices. They have always gone above and beyond with any issues... view more on vehicles within the warranty period and have provided nothing but the best service outside of the warranty period. If it wasn`t something they could fix themselves they always pointed me in the right direction or found the best on price on parts needed. Not to say I`ve had a lot of problems with the vehicles I`ve purchased from them - because I haven`t. However, vehicles are bound to have problems, even new ones. I highly recommend Goben Cars if you can look past the lack of mega dealer facilities etc and realize that, instead, they pass the savings on to you as a consumer.
