Reviews:

BUYER BEWARE and PLEASE READ......This AAMCO center is operating under violation and is not currently recognized as an AAMCO Franchise. Due to multiple multiple "documented investigations by AAMCO, the owner Ismail Latiff has been charged with intentionally committed fraud against many customers. He is currently fighting a legal "Material Breach of Franchise Agreement". This center is in jeopardy of ha... view moreving its doors chained shut any day now. I was recruited from another state to relocated here as Ismail`s general manager. In my 25 years in this industry, I have never witnessed such a MESS, and so many shabby, fraudulent repairs, mulitple law suites by dissatisfied customers, vendors and of course AAMCO Corporate. Ismail, has encouraged and pleaded with current employees and myself to help him write letters of defense and fabricate facts to help him defend his multiple cases of documented fraud. As of today, I resign my position with him, as I have far too much Christian integrity to be involved in such dishonesty and fraud. If you should doubt any of this, feel free to click on the AAMCO website and you will see there is NO AAMCO franchise in Morgantown WV.

BUSTED for DISHONESTY!!! You don`t even deserve 1 star. I went in to get the safety inspection done on my vehicle. After waiting an hour plus (they said it would be about an hour) they failed my vehicle and gave me an estimate of approximately $1600.00 to fix the struts on my vehicle. I knew they were trying to gouge me immediately. First off I knew only the front struts had a leak but they wanted to do front and bac... view morek (hello usually it is either the front or rear struts that go out not both at the same time) and Second, just because my struts are supposedly leaking does not mean my vehicle automatically fails inspection according to WV inspection requirements. I went to the shop that did my brakes because I had some squeaking noises (caused by the leaking front struts) and passed the safety inspection. FYI AAMCO, when you are trying to BS someone to make some money off them you best make sure they don`t know a thing about vehicle repair, better yet you should operate your facility honestly, as for me and my household we will have our vehicles serviced elsewhere.

I wish I would have read the r...
I wish I would have read the reviews here before I let them work on it. This was the worst experience ever. In the fall of 2012, my transmission began to slip. I brought it in to Aamco in Morgantown, WV for evaluation. They called back and said they would need $450 just to look at it. Since I knew there would be problems, I told them ok. They later called back and gave me an estimate of $4,300. This was more than I h... view moread planned on spending. But I had already agreed to $450, so I was stuck and gave them the go ahead to repair it. I received the car back a week later (November 2012). 3 days after going out of town with the car, the transmission went out again. I was forced to rent a car which cost me over $300 since I was out of town. The car was towed back to Morgantown since the work was guaranteed. They kept it another two weeks and my wife went to pick it up, and as she drove home, the transmission was slipping. She had Aamco tow it back for more repairs. They kept it for two more weeks. I returned home after being out of town and picked up the car a third time. It again, was slipping. I drove it back to Aamco and a tech drove with me and reported to his Manager that it was indeed slipping. The engine fan was spraying fluid all over the place. My garage at home had a stain of fluid on the ground about 5x`5. The mechanic jacked the car up, ran out to get me and said, "see this is not our fault, somebody installed the radiator wrong!" I looked at him and replied, you put the new radiator in. The pins were not in the right place on radiator and it was leaking. The shroud was not put on right for fan. He looked confused and shook his head. They kept it another 3 weeks. They returned it to me. They never apologized or even took responsibility for working on it 3 times and keeping it 6 weeks. Nobody did quality checks on the vehicle to see if the work was done correctly. Incidentally, the owner of the business is a snake. He promised a reimbursement of my rental car expenses in November. I have called more than 10 times asking them for the check and the owner keeps "forgetting". If others are interested in putting a website up warning innocent future victims of Aamco, along with billboards, I would be willing to begin this process. I will update this post with a contact email. Update: The transmission is slipping again....

Had A/C work done a couple weeks ago for not blowing cold air. After a few days, took it back to check for leakage and they found the issue. Manager did not charge us for the second visit since it was an error on their side not finding it the first time. Under new Management and staff were very nice and accomodating to our schedule. Would go back again.

My daughter has had several pr...
My daughter has had several problems with her 2001 Hyundai Tiburon and only lives a couple of miles from this AAMCO shop so that is where she has taken her car for these numerous issues. As she goes to school at WVU and also works part-time, as her mother I have usually been the one to communicate with the shop even though I live in PA. I have never dealt with so many courteous, caring and professional employees. Joh... view moren, the manager, Bethany, a CSM, Richard, a CSM and their mechanics are the best. They always go above and beyond to fix the car in a timely manner and at an exceptional price. Like I mentioned my daughter goes to WVU and with her class schedule, it isn`t always easy for her to leave her car for any length of time for a repair and John and his staff acknowledge that and do anything they can to get the repair done according to her schedule. I can`t say enough good things about John and his staff. They are the best! As I was reading over some of the other reviews, I thought that those with negative comments couldn`t possibly be talking about the same shop. I`ve had nothing but positive experiences and would highly recommend this location to anyone in the Morgantown area.

false advertising
I had seen on Aamco`s main web page that some locations offered `no credit check` financing for repairs, I had already applied for an Aamco charge card from GE financing and had been denied. I called and was told this location offered financing for all credit types. So I drove over to let them look at the car and get the details for financing and an estimate for repair. When I walked in I noticed they had a displa... view morey sign stating they had `no credit check` options and payments for all budgets. BUT when I asked for the details I was told they only offered GE Cap financing and had no `in house` options. I am sure, without a doubt, that they said that because they didn`t want to finance ME.

This place just seems like a r...
This place just seems like a rip off / scam shop. Normally I like to do all work on cars myself, but my job now has me working tons of overtime, so I really didn`t have the time to work on my girlfriend`s car. Huge regret... My girlfriend brought her car in for an oil change, and while there they asked her if she would like the free multi-point inspection with it. Since we were going to travel back to Ohio fo... view morer the weekend, she figured why not, and agreed to it. Sometime later the car is finished, she pays, but gets no inspection report. The next day her air conditioning suddenly doesn`t work. It was a few hot days all week, and it worked fine prior to the trip to AAMCO, and then it just abruptly stopped. She calls them, and they say they will take a look at it, and while there she asks for a copy of the inspection report; which they claim is for their records only, not the customer, but she got a copy anyway.. They say the A/C needs $800 worth of work. Yeah, no thanks. There`s always the possibility that the A/C died on it`s own, but I`m suspicious of it. They claim that for no reason at all should they go near anything apart of the A/C system, but I`m not really sure how that`s possible after looking at the inspection report. The drive belt/tensioner are both directly related to the A/C compressor, and they are listed on their inspection report, so right there shows their vast knowledge of a motor. And, to further elaborate on their incredible inspection reports, I would like to point out the one that says "Cabin Filter" and has a check next to the circle saying "Good." Well, a 2002 Ford Escort ZX2 does not have a cabin filter, so I would really like to know what filter they checked. Anyway, there`s our experience. You be the judge. So far the reviews on this place don`t look too well. I guess there`s enough naiive people in this town when school is in session to keep this place open, but places like this should be shut down, or people in charge should be disciplined/fired for shotty work like this.

Shady shady shady. I went in f...
Shady shady shady. I went in for a simple oil change. I noticed something was amiss when I saw them jacking my car way up in the garage. One of the guys came in with this gloom and doom report from the mechanic that basically everything was wrong with my car and started listing off a bunch of stuff. Nevermind that I had not asked them to look at any of this and was only there for oil. Anyway, they said it was unsafe ... view moreto drive and made a big show offering me a ride back to my place because my car was THAT bad. The place was getting ready to close, so I didn`t really have much option but to leave it there or sign a waiver (gets them out of being sued for anything) to drive my car back home. I was suspicious, so I called my mechanic friend immediately upon leaving, and he said they like to pull that act a lot. He actually knew the guy that talked to me, so he agreed to come in with me the next day and find out the real deal. He looked my car over, and while it did need a few repairs, it wasn`t as disastrous as they made it out to be, the car was still safe to drive until repairs could be made, and the report was largely inaccurate in places. His employee friend admitted that they`ve been having trouble with mechanics pulling stuff like that, so yeah...don`t go to the new AAMCO even for an oil change. They WILL try to scam you.

If customer service and just p...
If customer service and just plain being a decent business is what you expect, this is NOT your place. AAMCO Transmissions in Morgantown, WV. Our SUV was taken here for an unknown transmission issue (transmissions are what they specialize in?). They had our vehicle for a little over 4 weeks. We never once received a phone call with an update on our car. We had to call them and request information then wait for a retu... view morern call from the mechanic. We were told the first step would be to drop the pan and check for shavings, there were none. Next the computer codes pointed to a solenoid so we were urged to change it. This did not fix the issue so they requested we leave the vehicle with them so they could track down the issued and we would not be charged for their work because it was a training experience for the staff. lol yea. Finally on one of my ever so pleasant calls for an update I was told Sir your vehicle is ready for pick-up. Our mechanic has exhausted all of his options and we were unable to fix your car. I went to pick up my vehicle and to my surprise the bill was $ 593. I was charged for the parts and services that did not produce any results. When management was confronted about this I was told ?ˆ?The parts and services where done per your request?ˆ? (even though I can barely change my oil). ?ˆ?We helped you out with the labor I can?ˆ™t eat the cost of those parts also.?ˆ? This to me was just outrageous. If they were honest from the beginning and said we are not sure this will fix the issue I would have taken my explorer to a ford garage. I was so mad I just agreed to pay the bill just so I could leave. As if all of this wasn?ˆ™t bad enough when my wife got in her car to start it, it would not turn over. I had to jump start her car in the parking lot of the garage that was supposed to fix our vehicle. What the hell? Once the battery charged a little (perfectly fine battery by the way) she started the car. Once we had gotten home she said her accent LED?ˆ™s in the floorboards where left on, the stereo (which is a nice aftermarket one) was on and up, and the driver?ˆ™s seat was leaning back extremely far. My assumption is an employee decided it would be a good place to take their break or lunch. This is all extremely pathetic and really a quite embarrassing way for a business to be ran. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES HERE!!!! Any input especially from a garage owner would be appreciated.
