I went to Duncan Brothers for ...
I went to Duncan Brothers for 4 tires for my Honda CRV. After sitting for several hours (even though I had an appointment @ 8AM) I was told my vehicle was ready (1PM). I drove a few miles and merged onto 81 and thought my car was going to fall apart. I turned around and drove back to Duncan Brothers. I was told that the tire balancing machine was broken and I would have to wait for it to be fixed (a few more hour... view mores of waiting). They brought me the keys (4:30PM) and told me it was now ready. Again when I merged onto 81 it started to shake again, just not as bad as before. I did not think I could take any more waiting that day so I decided to just go home and would take it back the next day. I took it back the next day and they balanced it again. Still it shook anytime I drove over 50 mph. I took it to Midas and asked them to balance it. They told me there was a defect on one of the tires and that they could not get the tire balanced. I took it back to Duncan Brothers - they told me there was nothing wrong with the tire. I asked for a technician to ride with me so they could experience it for themself. When we returned the technician told "Keith" that it was unbalanced. Keith refused to change out the tire for us (even though it had not even been 24 hours). He told us that if we were unhappy with the one tire that we would have to make a claim to the manufacture that he would not take care of it for us even though we bought the tire from Duncan Brothers.
They do not stand behind the products they sell. If there is a defect with something you bought from them they will tell you, you have to deal with the manufacture, not them.
I had bought tires from them before (several times) so I had been a loyal customer. However after dealing with Keith I will not and have not ever used them again.

Honest, Reliable & Top Notch!!!
My daughter is from Florida, attends college in Winchester and needed a reliable garage for car maintenance, so we asked a local ( the school nurse for a recommendation). Three years later, Duncan Bros. has more than withstood the test of time and a 98 Subaru with issues. Just two days ago I flew up from FL thinking that the Subaru`s transmission needed replacing-- that`s what the tow truck driver (a garage owner) an... view mored two kind dudes with some car knowledge told her after pushing her car safely out of the middle of the road. To get the ball rolling, I called Duncan Bros. and asked for an estimate. After a long search, Bruce finally found a used one that Duncan Bros could install for 1600, quite reasonable. However, when Duncan Bros. inspected the car, they reported only a broken axle. My charge for all their time, labor, and parts (plus an oil change): under $300. The car was ready the same day. These guys know how to treat people and cars.

WARNING!
Seems that ""someone"" who doesn`t want any negative reviews about their business somehow keeps deleting my reviews on Yahoo! Locals, which should serve as another example of how dishonest this company is. I`ve tried post a review 3 times now on Yahoo, and all 3 have been deleted within a day or two of posting. None of the posts contained any strong language or slander, just a simple description of what transpired du... view morering my visit to this establishment. As I had written on Yahoo! Locals, my experience with this company fell FAR short of what one would expect from an honest company I took my car here with the hopes of attaining a more detailed diagnosis for an engine light and low idle speed than that which AutoZone provided me for FREE. (I typically do most of my own car work, but lack the scanning device used to connect to the car`s computer to determine the on-board diagnostic, OBD, error codes indicated by an engine light turning on.) For this service, I agreed to pay Duncan Brothers $75 (which, by the way, is higher than other places). However, upon completion of their test (which only took about 15 minutes), I was told that I would need to pay them at least $100 more in order to identify and fix the problem. Apparently, the person had forgotten my conversation with him from 15 minutes earlier, when I described the purpose of my visit was ONLY for the diagnostic information I needed to fix the car ""myself."" After attempting to spark his memory, he said ""Oh, we don`t give that information out to customers. That`s against our policy."" I then asked why they charge $75 for a diagnosis ""report"" if no information is reported to the person paying for the report. According to him, apparently, they charge this $75 fee to assess what the additional cost will be to fix the problem. If he had said this earlier, after I had clearly described the purpose for my visit, I would have gone elsewhere. When he was holding my car keys captive, however, for doing a 15-minute inspection that, essentially, was for their purposes alone, I became angry and refused to pay. Eventually, after some arguing, he gave me the report, and I paid him the $75. Later that day, with the information listed in the report, I returned home and fixed the problem myself, which turned out to be a dirty throttle body. Someone reading this may think that this was a simple misunderstanding. It most certainly was NOT though. I clearly explained the purpose for my visit and was told that I would be given a diagnosis ""report"" costing $75 that I could use to repair the problem myself. Fortunately, I was able to avoid their ""bait-and-hook"" sales strategy, and feel compelled to warn others who may consider doing business with this company.
