NEVER go here. They had my van for a month and lied about starting work and even lied about being able to look at it in the first place!! Bill has been nothing but rude everytime I was on the phone trying to find out if they were doing anything. All they had to do was take out one transmission and replace it with one we had already in our possession. Takes about 2 days or less. They couldn`t manage this in a month. They`ll say anything to cover their butts!
I called Sunset Motors on Wednesday after receiving a letter in the mail regarding an issue with my Fuel Tank Inlet Check Valve. While speaking with them, I said that it was a "Recall" and that my car would spill gas when I filled it up. We scheduled an appointment for that Friday and the gentleman asked if I was going to wait on my car or leave it. No other questions were asked.
On Thursday, I called a... view moregain to ask how long the appointment would take. The man asked another gentleman and then told me 2 hours. I said that I would be leavin my car there and would pick it up later.
On Friday morning, my boyfriend had taken a half day at work so that he could take me to the appointment and bring me home since I would have our 5 month old son with me. We get to the dealership / service center and the man goes out to get information from my car. He comes back in and tells me to wait in the lobby for my paperwork. He then ones out and says "I hate to do this but we`ll have to reschedule. Somebody didn`t check for parts and we`ll have to order yours. How about next Friday?" Really?!?!
I then asked for a manager and explained the situation. The manager said he would take care of it. He told me that there was miscommunication.
Their excuse? Since I had told them it was a "Recall" over the phone - they assumed they had the parts. Because my paper says "Warranty Extension" - they don`t. Wait, what?! So if it would have been a recall, you would have been able to fix the problem right then and there no problem? However, because its the same problem but its a warranty extension, you have to order parts for the SAME exact problem? As you can see I don`t understand how the terminology of how to categorize the problem determines whether or not you have the necessary parts. Yeah, okay.
No one apologized and the blame was placed on me for saying it was a recall when I first called. Needless to say, I called another Dodge dealership to schedule the repair. I told them what was happening and their department actually asked me to read what the letter said. Can you believe that? He was trying to get an idea of what they would need to do before the appointment. Ha. What a great idea! He then explained that they would order parts and would call me when the arrived to schedule the repair. No unnecessary trips for this girl! :) Wow.
My recommendation to you is to bypass Sunset Motors. Especially after reading the other reviews. My recommendation for Sunset Motors is that you hire some people who can comprehend what their job title entails, customer service skills who want people to return and a few good men who represent your company well. Not those boys who were walking around the dealership and ragged clothing, looking half asleep and following me around. I`d appreciate being able to have my car fixed without being stared at by 3 guys who are obviously doing nothing.

dont buy at sunset!!! bought a 2007 ford five hundred and it failed wv inspection, bad lower control arm, cost $500. sunset says we put 2000 miles on it in 40 days since we bought the car so they wont replace it. they said they would fix it for $200 to keep me happy. it would make me happy if they admit their mechanic missed it before they sold it to me and fixed it. they tried to tell me it may have went bad as soon... view more as i left the lot so i cant prove it was broke before i bought it. bad bad business. i will spread the word on the bad business. would they like a hospital to tell them you got sick after you left so its not our problem but heres a band aid to make you happy.

I bought a used 07 Jeep Commander off of Bob over there and it`s a piece of junk. I have had nothing but trouble with the jeep and that dealership is no help at all. All they are, are good lairs. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

When I went here I looked and ...
When I went here I looked and bought a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was advertised for 13995, but I had told him that I had been finding the same exact vehicles from 9000-11000 so he dropped the price to 10995 which I was really happy about. After 2 days it struggled up the hill in front of my house, so I called them and they said to bring it in when I had my apt to get my hitch put on and front end alignment. That w... view moreas fine. Then 2 days later the check engine/oil lights came on. Checked my oil nothing wrong, so I drove it to work and when I came out both lights where off. I called and reported this to them and yet again was told this would be checked on my apt day. On the day I took it to the apt my check tire light was on so I pulled over and a sheriff pulled behind me and we couldnt figure out what was wrong.
When I arrived at 8 am I was told it would be ready by 3-4 pm which I was fine with. I told him I would be back by Friday. I showed up the next morning and they hadn`t even started yet! SO later on that day they called me and told me that there was 2 nails in the side wall of my tire and it was going to be 179.99+ tax to fix. I told them I didnt want that and cancelled it and told them I would be up to get it Friday afternoon.
Upon arrival I was told I couldn`t drive my vehicle in 4x4 because the spare would mess it up, even though they had put the spare on and was driving it around their lot! I asked them if all the problems that was supposed to be looked at where and they stated they knew nothing about it! Furious I took the jeep and left, and went to Laney Tire, which was then told by Randy Byron that the spare was fine because it was the same size as my other 3 tires!
Two weeks later, I jumped in the jeep to go to my mom`s. I then noticed that no matter what I tried that the rear windshield whipper would not turn off. I called them and they said they didnt have anyone in service because it was after hours and to unplug the fuse or disconnect the battery and bring it up to them the following morning, so I did.
They did a diagnosis on it, which at the time I believed was still under their part of the warranty. WRONG! They called and said it was going to be 328 for parts + labor! So then I told them I wanted everything else fixed which I had told them about before. In doing so they told me to see if the check engine/oil lights where part of my warranty that it would cost me 75+ dollars to have them check if it wasn`t something in the engine! Little did I know that when I had brought it in to check the rear windshield wipper that they charged me 80.25 to check it out!
I was very upset and went to Bob, who had sold me the jeep and in a nice way complained. You know what he told me? Since he gave me a great price on the vehicle that he couldnt help me. So what are you saying Bob? That if you would have ripped me off you would have paid for everything that has went wrong in the 3 weeks since I have owned this vehicle?
So I tell everyone what has happened to me and maybe this will save other people some heartache and grief that I have went thru.
