Poor Customer Service

I was really excited to see on the website that this place had a 67 and 68 Thunderbird. I`m restoring a 68 Thunderbird and needed a seat track on the drivers side. Actually, I really only needed a small 1 inch gear that connects the motor to the track, but I know from experience that the seat track is treated as a single component by most parts dealers. Classic U Pull it wanted $25 for the track, plus the $4 admission for my brother and I. We drove to Vancouver to All American Classics. The guy behind the counter gave me a map and directions to the field of Thunderbirds. There were no Glamourbirds (67 to 71 series). However, as luck would have it, a 66 Galaxie on the lot had the interior for a 1968 Thunderbird! The interior was completely trashed. The drivers seat looked like it was used by a saber-toothed tiger as a chew toy, but the seat track was in-tact. I went back to the office and the guy behind the counter said the seat might have to be sold with the track. I expected that, and the guy suggested I talked to the manager. The manager claimed it was policy that seats and tracks be sold together, despite my claims that there were many seats in the lot without tracks. He was also very rude and claimed that there were no 68 thunderbirds on the lot. We explained the Galaxie and even showed him pictures from my phone. After going back to the car to get the stock code, I waited back in line for the guy to finish. When he finished, he gave me a dirty look. No, "how can I help you" or even a short "yeah" that you usually get in these environments. He hit some keys on his computer. If he quoted less than 100 for the seat and track, I was going to offer him 80 and would settle for the full $100. But then he looks up as if issuing a challenge and obstinately declares that it`s $175 for both the drivers seat and passenger seat. He "didn`t want to separate the set", and this was a destroyed Thunderbird interior in a 66 Galaxie. It`s sad that this waste of space is manager of this place. I`m sure that the owners didn`t visualize this poor service when the y converted the family dairy farm to a classic car salvage yard. I wished the guy good luck on the sale and on my way out he called me a jerk and claimed he had been doing this for years and knew what he was doing. I`ve been researching this market for years and the average price for a seat track was roughly $50. My guess is that the $175 price was quoted because he just plain didn`t want to do the work. He clearly doesn`t have the owner`s best interests in mind as I would have come back for repeat business for other parts for my cars. I will post pictures later.
