I have been going to TNA Quali...
I have been going to TNA Quality Automotive for seven years, shortly after they moved to the shop at 2932 NE MLK Jr. Blvd in Portland.
I would not go anywhere else. The service is consistent and the owner, Tareq Hashim, is extremely knowledgeable, and given the state of the economy he is aware of the need to keep costs under control. He does look for ways to keep costs down. Brandon, the service writer, is competen... view moret and has a good command of that aspect of auto repair. And the technicians working there have been very helpful. I know them, and trust them.
I have three cars and would not think of taking them anywhere else. Further, I have had at least 10 other cars serviced at their shop on NE MLK Blvd. and Stanton. It is very clear that TNA is concerned with customer satisfaction and in fact it is a fundamental principle for them that customer satisfaction is probably the most important part of the automotive repair and maintenance services they provide.
They are strongly recommended...just look at the many positive* reviews they receive. My experience is really positive and has been for a long time. And the length of time I have been going there should tell you a lot.

Super nice, don`t rush customers!
I have used this place to fix up my current car, and then again when I was looking at another car to buy. They answered all of my questions about potential cars, and didn`t rush me at all. It was $45 to get each car checked out, which was well worth it!

Best service I have ever rec`d
Took my Subaru in for a clutch replacement and there was no pressure at all. They are very up front and honest and were looking out for my best intrest. They even replaced a few other parts at cost like the drive belts and spark plug wires. I wish other mechanics were this trustworthy!!!

Most trustworthy mechanics I have ever encountered.
I have been scammed by other mechanics in the past and tend to think of them along the same lines as car salesmen, but my perception has changed after Rick and Tareq fixed the clutch in my Subaru. These guys kept me in the loop the entire time they were replacing my clutch in my Subaru, and were more that willing to explain exactly what had to be done and why. Tareq happened to look at the drive belts and noticed the... view morey were about to go (which they really were cracked and old) and told me he would replace them at cost. After I picked up the car the next day, they told me they noticed the plug wire was damaged and replaced it for free. These guys take the time to do an excellent job as well as keeping the customer informed. I really felt they were looking out for me. If I ever need anything else worked on I am definitly going back the them.

Very positive experience
I know absolutely nothing about cars and tend to be wary about what mechanics recommend and charge. I am writing this review for others like me who want to feel good about the mechanic they trust their cars with. I was extremely pleased with my experience with Jim and Tareq at Quality Automotive on NE MLK. Took my 96 Mazda in for oil change and checkup for engine light and noisy muffler. Mazda dealer previously d... view moreiagnosed (for $90) engine light as requiring $700+ parts/labor to replace meter and reprogram, couldn`t afford so let slide. Quality Auto estimated $50-60 to diagnose problem, ended up finding an intermediate solution to the meter problem (cleaning it instead of replacing it!) and now the engine light is gone and accelerates without hesitation. Practically the whole exhaust system had been rusted out from Midwest winters and needed replacing. Within one day, the engine light problem was gone, the entire exhaust system from the catalytic converter to the tail pipe was replaced, and the car ran better than it had in years, literally! I was out the door for just over $300 with an oil change, and Jim took the time to show me and explain everything they worked on/replaced, answered my questions, and pointed out some areas to keep an eye on in the future. Really appreciated good-business approach. Totally satisfied customer. Definitely recommend to others.
