The clearances found in today`s vehicles were considered unreachable just a few years ago. The equipment of yesterday is not capable of producing the required tolerances today`s engines need. i bought a car at this lot over the weekend and had a great experience. i had to call them on Monday to finish some details and when i looked up their number i saw the reviews here. i saw some good reviews and found the couple of bad ones to look like customers that had problems paying for their car and since my salesp[erson is the same as one named back in may i asked him about it, and sure enough he said they defau... view morelted on their payments and were sent to collections. he said that`s when they complained.

Horrible service

DON`T SHOP HERE!!! I wish I would have read reviews before making the trip to Rod`s All Star Auto. The salesman I was working with, Wayne, not only tried to sell me a car for $4000 more than the listing price, he told me that I wasn`t welcome to come back when I didn`t accept his "deal". He started off by showing me this car (1999 Mercedes CLK 430) saying that it wasn`t even listed yet. He... view more said that it was owned by a 70+ year old lady. This car is bright red, has after market rims, and tinted windows. He is a liar. Now I can`t prove that it wasn`t owned by an elderly woman, but it was listed and it was listen for $4000 less than he was trying to sell it to me for. Like any car salesman, he tried everything he could to get me into this car, but I still had some reservations. I took a couple minutes to myself to think it all over and by the time I got back it was like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. My buddy Wayne went from being a nice and charming salesman to a disrespectful and condescending bully. At the end I told him that it didn`t feel like it was the right desision, but I would consider them in the future when I had some more money saved up. That`s when he decided to tell me that I wasn`t welcome back because I "was too wishy washy" If Wayne is the type of person Rod`s All Star Auto employs, I would say stay away all all cost. There are plenty of other dealerships in the area that won`t treat you badly or act like a little baby when they don`t get their way. GOOD RIDDANCE!! Oh and Wayne has my number if you guys want to call and apologize.

There are plenty of dealerships! Don`t go here!

I am taking the time to write this review to save you the headache of their foul and shady business. We went in to buy a mini van for our family and the sales person(Wayne) agreed on our offer. When he presented the contract with a much larger number he explained that that`s what they had to put for the bank to finance but that the dealership would be paying additional costs. I realize that I never should have fallen... view more into that scAm, but regardless we were tricked. Not only that, but the company is refusing to give us our license plates unless we send them extra money on top of what was agreed upon. We have had to get new tires the first month of purchase. I also spent 2 hours scrubbing out sticky goo, because they never detailed the inside. Nothing, but problems with this company. There are plenty of other dealers that would value your business without cheating you elsewhere.

Shady

Stay away from these guys! Just spent 4 hours there w/ wife and 15 month old son. Went there to look at a specific car. Was told they had it in their shop cause the heater wasn`t working but they were diagnosing it to see wgat the issue was exactly. Ok no problem. My wife and I were still interested. They slapped the car back together so we could test drive it. We loved it and were ready to buy. We made an offer that... view more was $333 under their asking price and they accepted our offer. Then we waited around doing nothing for the next 3 hours. Found out why. After they accepted my offer they decided to see what repair costs were going to be. When they found out it was gonna cost nearly $1,000 to get the heater fixed, they tried to raise the price back up on the vehicle by $333 so I would pay 1/3 of the costs of repair. No thanks guys! Never will I come back here!

I bought my first car at All Star Auto in 1990, last week I bought my 5th car there. Each and every time I have been treated great. I have been happy with each deal, and found that everything I`ve been told by there employees has always turned out to be true. If there was any issues with the car, I was told about it. I would say, as car lo... view morets go, you would have a hard time finding one that has been as consistantly good as these guys. Over the last 20yrs, they have grown alot and built a fancy new building, but they have kept the honest, straight forward way of doing business that obviously has worked well. When I was asked to leave a review, I didn`t hesitate to agree and am happy to do what I can to get the word out that this is the place in Puyallup to get a nice car at a resonable price without any of the stress that buying a car sometimes comes with.

This the WORST BUSINESS I have...

This the WORST BUSINESS I have ever dealt with! I don`t recommend anyone even drive on the lot. I made it abundantly clear that I would buy a used truck for my son only if some things were fixed and the truck was in good running condition especially the water pump, which my son guessed was leaking. Promises were made by the salesman, Bill Leveque, a "friend` of my son`s, who didn`t want any heat coming back so h... view moree would make good any problems and we got a CarFax report. Total BS. After 2 independent shop inspections, the water pump is leaking AND the catalytic converters have been disconnected ($1400 to fix) and the truck won`t ever pass emissions inspection. No problem said All Star, just spend $150 (which they admitted won`t fix the converters) and give it to emissions control and they`ll pass the truck. Appointments were made to fix the ignition but Bill wasn`t there and no one claimed to know anything about the arrangements so the truck sat for 4 hours and nothing was done. We tried to get an explanation and only got RUDE, RUDE, RUDE salesmen who said if it wasn`t written in the contract it wasn`t their problem and said Bill was acting on his own and not for the dealership if he made any promises. And if the catalytic converters were disconnected, they didn`t know about it and it wasn`t their fault. According to 2 attorneys it is their business to know under the Implied Warranty of Merchantability. I have filed complaints with the DOL, Attorney General`s office and BBB and am taking legal action. The AG`s office said customers always have the right to independent inspections when buying a vehicle and should do so. If they get more complaints about All Star, they can open an investigation, so anyone with bad dealings with this business, please file a complaint. I do not believe the good reviews written about this dealership and am suspect as to who really wrote them. I`m convinced there are more bad than good reviews.

I did enough shopping around to know a great lot when I found one. I recommend this place to anyone if you need a car but not the normal b.s that normally goes with used car salespeople.

very easy, very laid back, without all the stuffiness some dealerships have. lot`s of regular guys, being honest and up front. this is where I will shop next time I need a car. if you are in the market I highly recommend seeing what they got.

the employees at rod`s all star auto were very helpful . we had been to numerous dealerships and were pressured to buy in all of them. they helped us find a car we could afford and didn`t pressure us at all. will tell all of our friends about our experience.
