My son purchased a windshield ...

My son purchased a windshield from jeepglass.com., the website for this company. When we received it, we didn`t open it right away because we weren`t ready to install it. The packaging looked fine. We paid $80 for the windshield and a whopping $45 for shipping!! A few months later, we finally opened it, only to see that it was completely cracked and damaged. I figured that it was UPS`s fault, so I went thru their cus... view moretomer service process to have it picked up and investigated. UPS determined that the packaging was inferior and shipped it back to jeepglass.com`s warehouse. I assumed I would get a refund shortly thereafter from jeepglass. After a few weeks, I called to follow up. First of all, they scolded me for not calling them first. Whatever. THen I was told that they would look into it and get back to me the following week. Again, I waited. I also forwarded to their customer service email the Paypal confirmation I had received and asked for them to get back to me. Still waiting. So finally I called Todd, the owner, again this morning. He scolded me again for calling him on a Saturday, but I explained that I had received no follow up and no response to other emails and phone calls. Todd told me that his warehouse had never received the returned item (even though I had the confirmation from UPS) and that there was nothing he could do to help me. All he could do was point out everything I did wrong in the process, and made no attempt to make it right....didn`t even offer me a credit. He was rude and clearly has no interest in keeping customers in tough economic times. It`s nor fair that I paid $45 to ship an item, which covered the insurance to ship it, but never received the benefit of that insurance. So the moral of the story is, if you choose to buy from this company, open the product immediately when you receive it, and if there is a problem, I hope their customer service works better for you than it did for us. We ended up using a local Safelite company. They came right to our house and installed the windshield right in the driveway, and charged us a reasonable price.
