Earned my 1st time business and a repeat customer
First off, I have a great mechanic who takes good care of my car at reasonable rates and is honest and fair (Bud`s Auto on Rainier), so I wouldn`t have expectations of things any further than tires and maybe shocks and alignment at a place that specializes in, well, tires.
And in this case, my expectations were exceeded. I did some internet research on the tire that I wanted on my 2002 Mercury Mountaineer 2 W... view moreD to deal with the upcoming wet winter Seattle roads and concluded the 245/70/16 Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo or Revo 2 was what I wanted.
After some calls, I almost bought two rear tires at Discount Tire for full price for two. I then saw the Firestone add while surfing a tad more research and proceeded to call around the different stores for two Revo`s first generation as Firestone`s sale on that tire was buy one, get second at half price. However, it was for the Revo only and for limited stock on hand. A couple of places checked the entire state`s inventory and came back with a none in stock answer.
Sandy at Firestone Westlake called me back to say there were none left but she could get the Revo 2s and would give me the same sale price. Chris called me today to let me know the cross store transfer had arrived and I could bring my SUV in to have the tires mounted,
They said it would take approx 45 minutes; I walked down the street to Uptown coffee, had a mocha, nice conversation with the seriously pretty barrista where we shared our Halloween costumes and hers was to be a dead can-can girl, hmmm, I think she`ll pull it off just fine,,oh, but I digress.
So, it was 45 minutes, and the tires made a vast improvement in smoothness, quiet, and I`m just daring the rain to come. Thanks folks, see you in January for the two front tires.

Be Cautious
I took my Ford Ranger in for oil change and to have them investigate an odd sound in the drive train. They recommended more service than I had anticipated, and I reluctantly agreed, and in the end, they had no answer for the drive train sound problem. Oddly, after I picked my vehicle up that evening, I began having problems with my starter. Is that a coincidence? I don`t know, but I decided that I would take my v... view moreehicle somewhere else to have that problem fixed. I`d only recommend this place if you have a specific problem that needs fixing and you are very knowlegeable of the problem. I would not recommend taking it there for diagnostics.

For the simple stuff only
Tires, regular maintenance (oil changes, coolant flushes)...this store does acceptable work at a reasonable price. One plus is that they are open on Saturdays. But request any sort of work that has any difficulty and diagnostics to it (strange suspension or drivetrain noises, electrical gremlins), then they`re no better than any other shop. IMO, they may even be a fair bit worse. Better to go to a shop that specializ... view morees in the particular make of your vehicle instead for these sorts of things.
Also, I would not recommend them for brake work, unless you are VERY knowledgeable about the requirements for your car, and can direct these guys (with as much info as possible) with the HOPE that they get it correct the FIRST time. They seem to have issues understanding and recognizing which cars--particularly older ones--have ABS systems, and have shown a particular lack of knowledge with specific brands.
For instance, Volkswagens are notorious for developing warped rotors on many of their newer models (I found this out after-the-fact from our VW dealer); the oem factory rotors are extremely difficult to properly remachine--the dealer usually replaces them instead of trying to save them--but this Firestone store seems incredibly ignorant of that type of data and instead tried to remachine, causing premature and uneven pad wear which ultimately lead to a rediagnosis and complete aftermarket rotor/pad replacement by another shop.

never go there
charged me over $500 to fix a clunk sound problem of my car, but the problem was still there, inspected again and claimed another cause. Then denied they told me the over $500 parts/labor would fix the problem.
NEVER GO THERE!!!
NEVER GO THERE!!!
