So bad even Allstate is taking them off their recommendation list!
I was in a car accident that damaged the driver side of the car. I took it into Gerber because I have Allstate and if I took it into a place that they recommended, then it would be guaranteed. Not only did they keep my car for TWO MONTHS, but I had to have a rental the whole time! I was lied to constantly about "parts" (which was ALWAYS their excuse) and time frame, and... well the list goes on.
When I FINALLY pic... view moreked up my car, it was a DISASTER! They didn`t clean it, they replaced the doors with doors from a different car which is fine, but they left the "this car has a security system" sticker on the window (which my car does not have), the handles didn`t even match the interior of my car, there were more scratches and dings than before I left it there, they hadn`t finished putting in parts and was making me come back, and did not apologize! They just shrugged me off and hoped I would go away!
I called Allstate because of their guarantee (if there were those VISIBLE problems, what kind of mechanical problems did they overlook or half-ass). When I talked with Allstate, they didn`t even know my car was still in the shop. Come to find out the estimate they initially gave Allstate was about $7,500 and ended up billing over $10,000! They had been lying to Allstate as well.
Fortunately I was able to take my car to any shop I wanted to to get my car looked at and re-repaired and they were awesome... but that was another month in a rental and more money to my insurance company. I was told they would be taking them off their recommendation list (and heard at another place that Allstate wasn`t the only one, other insurance companies were too)
If at all you feel compelled to go here, PLEASE re-read this comment and stay away from this place! If Insurance Companies won`t send people there... there is a REASON!
